The Grid seeds are $250 for 350 Kh/s. So figure it as 1.4 Mh/s for $1000 and 14 Mh/s for $10,000. Those that bought the grid seeds don't have very long to fuck around and get their money back before thee 100 Mh/s for $10,000 come out and jack the difficulty up making grid seeds worth dick. Something else will follow the 100 Mh/s ASIC and they'll all be in a hurry to get their money back before it does the same thing. I'd wager a majority will hit the profit switching pools and get their payouts in BTC. The existing dedicated miners won't be able to foot their electricity bill to mining their preferred coin and move elsewhere. Then you'll just have a few large pools killing off clonecoins and probably finally stabilizing when the largest Scrypt coin is left standing. This will probably be Litecoin imho.

The details of the device we can reveal today are as follows: Minimum 100/MH/s of performance. (likely to increase as we get further down the development path) Uses a Standard ATX power supply (customer supplied ATX). Based on the existing Jupiter form factor but will have blades containing numerous chips inside. Shipment begins in Q2/Q3 of 2014.
so what's the consensus on the KNC miner? 10MH/sec/1000$ is pretty insane, i didn't think they'd be able to get prices so low. no GPU setup on earth can compete with that, let alone power efficency....And the only other ASIC i know of is gridseed which is pretty bad. How long before everything is scrypt-n
what are you people mining?
>>226741each of those is less than half of a GPU thoughthat's really not THAT much
>>226759scrypt-n is a terrible idea, scrypt was already torture to the GPU's in power consumption and stress... hopefully people will be sane enough to move to keccak, blake, x11
>>226918This stinks of FUD from scrypt-asic owners
I'm fucking done with mining coins. I'm not falling for ASIC horserace bullshit again. Scrypt is fucking dead to me and Scrypt-n just absolutely buttfucks your GPU.
>>226918Funny enough, SHA-3 is way more strain on my GPU than scrypt-n because I have to overclock/overvolt to get best hashrate, while on scrypt-n I get the best hashrate by underclockling and undervolting. Temps mining scrypt-n are about 10C lower than SHA-3.
>>223737i know this is over 2 days later, but can you actually sell reddit karma for dogecoin?i have tons..
>scrypt+n coins>2014Look at you little bitch niggers. There's already a coin that is both ASIC and GPU resistant, making it the true 'people's coin'.>inb4 hurr durr no hard limit le_trashman.jpg.Assuming moore's law continues, there *is* a theoretical limit to the number of primecoins generated, about 400M if I remember correctly.
>>226970The true people's coin is Bitcoin Scrypt, and its been out for a month already. Ive been arbitraging in primecoin, but ultimately the price only edges down. Its shit.
What happened to wolong?
>>226992>Bitcoin ScryptWhy not just use litecoin or any other scrypt shitcoin?
>>226993amDoge happened
OMFG WE NASCAR NOW HOLY SHIT NIGGERS WE ARE SPONSORING A NASCAR DRIVER OMFG AGAIN WE ARE THE FIRST CRYPTOCURRENCY TO SPONSOR AN ATHLETEREWARD HALVING IMMINENT
>>226970>0.4$/day on my i5-2500kWhy would I bother mining it? I'll probably waste more money on electricity.Only botnets earn money on "GPU resistant" coins.
>>227013That's the thing though, primecoin is in it for the long term. Slow, steady growth is what primecoin and peercoin have been experiencing since their genesis. The fact that they are built on sound technical specifications (which are superior to bitcoin imo) gives me a lot of confidence, especially with peershares around the corner.
is it bad to just be getting started with doge? I'm new to crypto's and doge seemed fun, what's a good way to develop a fair amount
>>227002Cause litecoin is a 2nd rate good, its in the name. Something that was created as a lite version of a luxury good can never gain enough popularity to overtake it.Technically though, I do agree with you that theyre both shitcoins.
>>227031the only way to get doge is to buy itvaltofsatoshi lets you use your bank account to buy it
> have long forgotten order to sell at 130> have long forgotten order to buy at 120Guys, I think I'm the reason dogecoin is not moving anywhere
>>227013Not if you produce your own electricity... }:PAnd there are plenty of fairly affordable options for renewable energy.
>>227043Don't forget other costs, like buying new computer if old one is dead from mining.
>>227046If a computer dies from mining you must have been overheating it to hell and back...Seriously, it's 2014.High performance requiring video games, video rendering, algorithmic work... and so on should be something a high end computer can do on a regular basis...Besides, when it isn't mining for bitcoin can't you use it for personal use, aka making it a cost you would have payed anyway.
>>227035is there a way i can just buy on satoshi with my debit card, I'm only seeing check and money order shit. Am I not seeing it, or is that the only way?
>>227056with vaultofsatoshi you can link your bank card to your account, also if you are referring to using credit to buy cryptocurrency you are fucking stupid
>>218230>krakenWhat is involved in the process of verifying an address?

>>227557im moving to the O thread
It's happening.
>>225059I never got the charities. The first one or two were okay, I wouldn't donate, but they just keep pumping them out. You'd think reddit would spend like 10% of what they throw at charities backing developers or creating some sort of public doge kickstarter but in small steps. Like do small bounties instead of throwing a ton of money at one person.Like if someone says theyll do a site, let them raise up to 10k doge or something. Then force them to raise small amounts of doge per feature people want done on their sites.During the early days of doge I found myself utterly confused. Someone makes a post saying theyre gonna create a marketplace, people throw a million doge at them, no marketplace is ever created.I used to think the phrase 'a sucker is born everyday' was just tongue and cheek instead of real life.
Where do I buy Doge with BTC?Vircurex?
