because that "somebody else" pays you a fraction of that money? You can work for yourself of course, but you also have to do a lot of boilerplate paperwork shit, find clients or hire your own workers, managing their wages, etc. It's far more challenging to organize all this shit then just to follow one pattern entire life.
It's all about comfort zone essentially.
Is Bukowski a fucking retard if he can't answer this himself?

Forced because too weak to carry himself. He would be dead fast if left in the wild.

writers are also a cool example of this, since what they do instead of being is "wage slave" is licking publisher's boots day after day hoping for their wall of text getting into bookshelfs of as much people as possible.
Most of them literally survive because the timeframe between books getting published can be YEARS.

Reminder that Bukowski was a raging alcoholic. He also worked as a postman which mean he DID NOT "made lots of money for someone else" but he worked a job that got him a state pension and supported the community. Bukowski was a hypocrite who only became successful by writing edgy stories for privileged students who thought it was cool that an adult told him it’s okay to drink and fuck all day.

"I have one of two choices – stay in the post office and go crazy ... or stay out here and play at writer and starve. I have decided to starve." - Charles Bukowski

He was a selfish piece of shit who preached that society should take care of its people but he himself hated his job that helped taking care of people because all he was a lazy fuck and only wanted was stay home and drink all day

Actually now all I have to do is plug in my work machine and get going. Don't even wake up early either. More freedom than ever.

ive taken the hybrid NEET pledge.
- work from home and dont put too much effort.
- if fired take maximum time between jobs to milk unemployment.

I need money but hell if im going to "put effort" and "drive to the office"

Id rather not work for 2 months than spend the money on an iphone.

Wagies are fucking insane.
And being a writer...yea, its licking boots of publishers like crazy.
Imagine begging someone to publish your book and take a 40% cut. and having to change it because some jew doesnt like it.
