I can't hear that shit about smart contracts anymore. This is the biggest meme concerning crypto out there atm.
You really believe clearing can be replaced by a few lines of code? Ffs you would need lawyers and negotiations to create a smart contract working between companies. Why did you think clearing was needed in the first place. For everything complicated, where smart contracts would in theory bring efficiency, they are not simply applied by some programmer. And for the non-complex tasks they can indeed be applied but they are not really needed, any company interface or program handles eg supply chain tracking. That's the big problem out there that is not understood by nerds, as they lack business experience. No company will pay you with inflated pre mined tokens to execute on chain requests concerning issues like delivery tracking. You're simply vastly overestimate applicability.

You clearly don't understand any of it. There will still be lawyers. Two lawyers. One on each side. They will hash out the details. The details will be set into a smart contract. The smart contract will do the rest. All the other lawyers will be sacked.

I mean i'm no lawyer and desu i don't give a shit if they would lose their jobs, but just think: Contracts are used in business all the time, and still you need legal settlements and negotiations. And you're assuming this will be solved by some lines of well-written code?

Well that was clear from the beginning. Now think about how they'll be applied for complex issues and tell us. And don't come with shit like temperature tracking and delivery status. No company needs blockchain for that.

That's a perfect example. Pay shall pay third party expenses, not specified what. Typical case: Disputable positions on expense list.
>Smart contract not executable
No company will give a blank cheque that an auto executing mechanism books money on not specifically named "third party expenses"
It's not as easy as you think.

Settlement of financial instruments with guaranteed performance upon completion of terms. No deliberate delays to leverage position or wait for market changes, no power asymmetries between a bank/CCP and a market participant, no real need for CCPs at all.
The thing is, I don't have to convince you of shit. You don't have to "believe" any of this, because SWIFT believes it, and it's fucking happening whether you manage to see it before it happens or not.
