I felt this exact same way when I bought chainlink in late 2018. Never invested into anything before, buying crypto and even moreso an obscure crypto like chain-link completely went against my boomer fathers financial wisdom of just hoarding savings. My hands were unironically trembling as I made a coinbase account and hovered my mouse over the "buy btc" button. I had never done anything like it. Several times i almost lost my nerve. I knew i was going into uncharted waters with my precious savings. But I knew with no risk comes no reward. I now have a decent stack of link i never would have had if I hadnt taken that jump.

Money is inflationary, so that's what you should be afraid of. The govt print out more money whenever they need it (and are doing it right now at a fantastical scale). All the money that you'll ever make in your entire life was just printed by them in the time you read this, because they can.

If you were to hold cash over time you'd be broke. That's why in 1960 the average income was 5k. Money depreciates.

No one is going to hold your hand, and I'm not saying there aren't times to hold a reserve of cash (right now is probably a good time with market volatility and a possible bubble).

Bitcoin is probably the safest bet if you're going to invest in crypto. But I think ETH has more to gain. As far as altcoins (I like Hex, SXP and CRO) go find a project that you understand completely before investing. Good luck.

Disappointing but you do you anon. Things are actually significantly more complicated than in 2017 (when beyond btc/eth it was either flipping shitcoins or going all-in on Link), so it's going to be tougher, but I recommend extensively researching De-Fi projects (as much of a meme it all seems to be at the moment). There's risk involved (see crv and yam) but they are definitely the crest of the new bullrun, and you can make money on their platforms even without purchasing some of their tokens. Kleros also seems legit, and I am on the fence of throwing a few bills into it. Link is still not a terrible buy even at these prices also. Whatever you buy, you need to alter your relationship to the money where you are effectively okay if it goes to 0, and fine with insanely volatile swings -- unless you have the time and talent, don't try swing trading, just build iron hands and never fucking sell (holding chainlink would have put you into financial zen mode). Play it safe by DCAing into whatever you're interested in buying, and only ever """diversify""" with btc, eth or link besides big-play gambles.

For perspective, my art sweetspot I found it at 200$ per pic, and people are still interested at that price, hoping if I can bump it to 300$ but the inner me wants to deliver something worth at that price, so usually if you want your art to stick around and be meaningful for a long time, pour your heart on it and your best effort, meme artists come quick and rake in quick but also disappear just as quick.
These are my two cents as an artist that, even though I don't post often, the pics I make always top the charts with many dms asking me for commissions.
