You are delusional if you think Renault is going to replace anyone. They are one of if not the most awful car companies in the world. Tesla is more than a car it’s a symbol. BMW is a symbol too but not one that’s synonyms with eco shit and changing the world.
Branding matters. Share or mind matters. Tesla is a cult. Apple is a cult. Consoomers dont analyze tech sheets and figure out which is the best value proposition. They buy on emotion they buy on feeling. That’s why marketing and advertising are so important in business

why do you think that when their CEO is shit, their roadmap shit, and they still end up missing their underwhelming targets.
lagging on 7 nm doesn't just mean conceding to AMD for the next 4 years on server market share. It also means losing contracts like the Aurora supercomputer when they don't have the 7 nm they were supposed to have by 2021. The implications of that extends to losing shit like military contracts and anything else with supercomputers.

can't count on TSM either because (1) they still have to design something to fit TSM's processes (2) it'll only come out on the later half of 2021 at the earliest since those orders with TSM were placed just very recently and TSM is already fully booked a long way

Its not about "replacing", its about others catching up and delivering similar products for lower prices or, for example, the EU giving incentives to buy VW or Volvo instead. Or the Chinese promoting NIO and whatnot to counter Musk.

Netflix used to buy DVDs and send them to you through the mail, Amazon mostly sells physical objects. A technology company is a company that that focuses mainly on the development and manufacturing of technology products or providing technology as a service, that is Tesla's whole business model. The reason why people are buying them over their competitors is because of how technology advanced their product is and the software inside. It's no longer about something that will just get you from point A to point B, it's a computer on wheels. Their core goal is development of autonomous driving and selling this as a service, not selling cars.

Stop posting, you have no idea what you're talking about and you're the very reason why this general is trash. Every retard on the planet is coming out of the woodwork to give their hot takes on a stock that they haven't spent more than a few minutes researching.

i'm torn on SOXL because a lot of shit are doing poorly (e.g. MU because of ) even though their tech itself is amazing, ASML is a monopoly but i don't see the upside in them when they're a manufacturer and selling a dozen of their EUVL equipment is already record breaking. The farther you go back the supply chain, the lower your margins get and then i wonder about the upside is again.
it's to the point that I'm considering just putting my spare cash into TQQQ even though i have no idea about the fundamentals of MSFT and AAPL other than they're diversified megacaps and they'll likely just go up since they ARE the market.

honestly what I want is a leveraged ETF that took the huge NASDAQ giants, got rid of INTC, took in higher weightings for TSM, AMD, and maybe NVDA. A lot of people are scared of by AMD's PE ratios but their valuations are justified considering how exponential their growth will be especially with Intel so stagnant.

i still might get SOXL anyways since i don't feel right just buying shit like TQQQ when my justification in that would basically be "stocks only go up" and "too big to fail" even if they're true as we've seen multiple times already

Yes. Because its a status symbol for Chinks that makes them look western.
So does a mercedes or a rolex.
> Tesla doesn't just sell the majority of the world's EVs
And EVs account for a small amount of all cars. With growing popularity more companies will enter the race and TSLA will lose its monopoly over its extremely small market.
And EVs are only a thing in the US and Europe so far, where people can afford to buy a car for inner city transport and a plane ticket for everything over 1000km. It will take decades before EVs will really be popular in countries like Russia or China.
Look at these numbers. TSLA sold 1/10th of Ford cars Q2. In the US alone.

Owning a Tesla is a status symbol nearly everywhere and most of the younger generation would rather own a Tesla than a Mercedes or a Rolex. EVs are wildly popular in China and in some places you cannot get a registration for a vehicle unless it's an EV. China buys more EVs than most of the world combined. You're comparing sales which include 15k shitboxes to luxury car sales, Tesla doesn't yet make anything at that price point but it would likely dominate as well. also to summarize on TSLA: what people are really saying when they say "it's not a car company it's a tech company that sells cars", they mean that people aren't buying TSLA for what it is NOW. they are buying TSLA for what they BELIEVE IT WILL BE in the FUTURE. what they think elon will accomplish in the coming years and maybe even decades. they feel they're getting in early on potentially what could be the next AMZN or greater.

that's the key here. you can call it dumb but it's made a lot of people a lot of money considering how fucking high it has mooned in price. get it? it's the POTENTIAL of TSLA that people are buying. even if you don't think it has potential, enough other people, very wealthy people, do, and that is what will continue to make it skyrocket.

TSLA will only crash when people no longer believe in the future of TSLA and Elon doing crazy shit. if Elon ever dies sell it immediately. hopefully this clears things up a bit because some people sound confused with "but they only make this much right now wtf is this shit" and don't get it.

they're proposing that the bubble isn't going to pop short term. we will have some pullback for sure but it's unlikely the rugpull everyone is expecting will happen.

there is TONS of money in moneymarket accounts right now, a lot of people are "waiting things out." i see us continuing up for at least another year, forcing people to FOMO into the market.

It's not just their team or data lead, there are other key differences between them and their competitors. Even if Tesla isn't the first to bring autonomous robotaxis to market, they'll be the first to bring them into mass market because they can retroactively apply the technology to most of their fleet and pick up much more market share than an autonomous company that then has to make millions of autonomous vehicles from scratch. These robotaxis need to be EVs because of lower ownership costs otherwise they won't be competitive.

Right now, most people are just happy to have level 3 autonomy and let the car do most of the driving. It's arguable if Tesla is the true leader in this regard but they're definitely considered the true leader by consumers because they allow their drivers to take on all they liability and don't force them constantly monitor the driving which defeats the purpose. Tesla doesn't bog itself down with nonsense safety culture because they know their autopilot is statistically much safer than human drivers and it's rapidly improving. They're the only autonomous driving company that understands that rate of innovation is more important than appeasing criticism because they're moving so fast that all the criticism is quickly outdated. This is what TSLAQ doesn't understand, they're too busy trying to argue against the company with problems that were fixed long ago.
>>21847826
No one wants to ride in your Accord, faggot. The luxury class doesn't just include ride quality but greater performance and the performance Model 3 is faster than almost any production car. TSLA is a pure momo stock that's emulating Apple's success through the same virtues that Apple found its own success. Take that as you will, but justifying it the way you are is wrong. It's inductees that are being indoctrinated by rampant "success" and people willing to throw /every/ dime at Elon's view of the future, not on production, but faith?

It's a luxury status product that will peak and hit saturation regardless of competition. The question becomes, can it remain valued at this level against its current performance before the masses collapse and only the zealots remain? How much more upside can you squeeze out of it before the sentiment reverses, and in what timeframe? How much of the liquidity pumping into TSLA is seeking fast money, and how much is going to bail when it plateaus?

Even Apple has had numerous 30%+ (-45% on a quick dirty average) drops through its lifetime, and considering the rampant speculation at the moment, I could see it occurring again soon. Likewise with TSLA. And I'll point out MSFT's drop in 2000 took 16 years to recover.
