I think obligated fees in XCM are overrated. CM automarketbuys XCM for their fees, ok. But these XCM need to enter the market again at some point. As you said, they're not profitable, they're most likely strapped for cash even. So not in the position to sit on a pile of fee XCM for a long time.
They'll have to sell that XCM regularly, trading against their clients, suppressing the XCM price.

Furthermore, they have ridulously low fees already. For the normie who wants to buy their link (or cash out, at this point) and do some small time trading, it's not worth it locking up several hundreds of EUR worth of XCM for a miniscule fee decrease.

The CM bonds have a higher yield depending on the tier, but my guess is that a few big investors will buy up all the bonds anyway.

CM has turned into an awesome company the past few months, but they suffer from the same problem as parsiq and so many other projects - token not needed.

XCM are now around 4 Cents. Coinmetro buys the supply, Stacks 100k XCM.

They have operational funds for 1-2 years by investors. Hold XCM for a few months, wait for it to hit 40 cents. Now sell XCM for 10x the price they bought it for. Less pressure on XCM but same fiat wise.

They basically wait for the book to mature to have less impact.

Has it been officially confirmed that they are safe financially for at least 1 year?

When they get more clients, that does not mean they will be interested in buying XCM. They probably got a lot of signups last week due to the parsiq uniswap storm, but that did not lead to a significant increase of XCM buys or buy orders.
CM to be able to cash out their fees they rely on people buying XCM in the first place. Which is ironic, you buy XCM to lock to gain a better tier and thus lower fees, but the XCM you buy is maybe CM dumping on you to cash out their fees.

Consider also that in 2 years, when the bonds mature, there will be possibly millions of XCM entering the market, that will have been bought at what they deem a fair (current?) valuation of 20c. If XCM should be at 50c or even more in 2 years, they will probably all get sold.


Disclaimer, I hold a large stack of XCM myself. But I haven't seen a steady or sustainable price increase ever since. Last year we spiked to 10c, to slowly erode back below 2c. A steady x10 (or even more) in trading volume to the half million we're at now, release of new tokens, fiat, marketing, affiliate program, margin trading, copy trading, the tokenized marketplace, weekly AMA, I could go on, CoinMetro is doing excellent but at this point I'm starting to wonder if there is anything that can be done to increase the interest in XCM itself. It almost seems as the better they're doing, the less people seem to care.
