I'll tell you what's interesting. The 10kg coins always sell out - straight away. And 1kg coins normally sell more than 10oz coins. There is some serious stacking going on and finding those large coins on the secondary market or as buybacks at dealers or whatever... is so incredibly rare. And the 1kg coins total oz amount is normally about double the 1oz coins. We are talking about Australian Lunar here. Even 10oz coins are hard to find... though they should be because there isn't much minted - though price is lower.

We are showing each other mostly 1oz coins and some of us have more than 1,000oz of mostly 1oz silver... but we are literal stacklets compared to those that stack 1kg and 10kg coins.

I've personally got some big coins but only because I was offered them a few years ago from a dealer as a buy back. It was something like 20c over spot - I was apprehensive at first because I thought such a big coin was a meme but I was super happy with the buy and been hunting them ever since.

The lira has been collapsing for years now. Before covid shut everything down I went there to shop since everything is way cheaper compared to where I am. Basically I bought 200 eur worth of clothes, which otherwise would've cost me 350-400 eur.

Last time the lira was in trouble people lost a lot of purchasing power, so now they're hedging. And they can't buy USD, since Erdoğan banned ti's pretty much, so the only choice is gold. They are trying to cash out on everything and move their assets into something tangible, which will guarantee they will not starve.

The chart you're seeing is from zero hedge, there was an article about this there a few days ago.

Mine output at its current pace increases the supply of gold at roughly the same rate the world population is increasing, mining's not going to really dilute the price of gold much at this point. Undersea and subglacial mining could potentially change this in the coming decades, but even then Gold price responds more to Fed meetings than it does to new mines opening. Unless a truly vast supply of Gold is uncovered and mined almost instantaneously, the amount of Gold mined doesn't have too much of an impact on its price.

Miners can't mine gold fast enough to dilute the supply substantially right now. However there is a huge problem with miners these days, the people in charge of the companies do not understand how the Gold market works. They treat Gold like any other mineral resource, one which gets consumed and lost after being taken out of the ground. They do not realize that nearly every ounce of Gold ever mined still exists and can re-enter the market under the right conditions. This misunderstanding of Gold's nature will eventually come back to bite the miners on the ass should the perfect storm of conditions come about.

I think Bunker Hill will be a fabulous mine down the line but they need a lot of work to get there. They need to plan out a mill, update existing infrastructure and a bunch of other details before they can start properly mining there again. The company could cut some of those corners if they wanted to just start mining right now with drilling on going, and shipping the ore to a nearby mill already operating but that has its own issues. There are no riots or looting or anything like that and the yuro is not yet collapsing hard (I wish it was). Finnish people usually just complain on the internet and extremely rarely take it to the streets. That being said the job market is absolutely fucked right now. I have a STEM degree and have been jobless for quite some time. Every place that opens up gets filled with applications and people compete in who can sell their labor for the lowest value. Fuck that race to the bottom. In addition the cost of living is terribly high here atleast compared to wages but I think that's also the case pretty much everywhere around the world because of FIAT and the fucking bankers. yeah, their big mine is the one in bolivia. The CEO John Lee appeared in five or more news / PM talking heads videos in the past week.

Multiple comments sections picked up on this, with some guys saying John Lee is a scammer - don't know if that's substantiated though.

If you look throughout history, you'll see that very rarely did societies use gold as everyday currency, that was the purpose of silver. The purpose of gold is as a store of wealth that holds its value, not as a money, so people value gold as a store of wealth. You have to remember that wealth is not a zero-sum game, and the amount of wealth that exists in the world today is constantly increasing, hence the need for an increasing supply of gold to store that wealth against external manipulation. Ideally the value of gold shouldn't fluctuate at all until either wealth stops being created or we've mined the last ounce.

Side note, some might argue that wealth inequality is increasing, but look at the difference between elites/rulers and common citizens/peasants throughout history and you'll realise that the truly rich are always those who rule or are buddies with those who rule; central banks are just the newest iteration of this.

The fact that it was also done during a push to $27.50 key resistance is what particularly makes me believe it's going to be a red day.

Someone only exits a position of that size at 'market-sell' price (at any price) unless they are really exiting their long
and if they are, they want to do so without driving the price down too much by them selling, so they wait for an uptick so there are people lined up to buy their bags (without driving the price down)

Like really, imagine if you had that much silver and you're witnessing a push to $27.50 (where if it breaks $27.50 it would break the trend line) - why would you market-sell right there?

I would be a bit leery of that kind of activity, it could be that dudes just trying to do the old promoter tactic of shotgunning your name everywhere, or hes doing something slimy. Bolivia is interesting because they have a history of bullshiting companies not associated with the government. At least that was how it was last time i looked into anything going on down there. The local "Free miners" in those areas though are tough and hard working bunch.

Also yea I found the Bunker Hill mine camp its self just to have a look at where it is, turns out its in down town Kellogg Idaho! I can see things in the old google earth shots didnt look great a few years ago on site, the ruins of a mill are off to the right and there are multiple small high grade mines nearby in mothball states too.

It's true what you say about the ruling class always being there, but it seems clear to me that the concentrated wealth and power they control grows exponentially as time advances. Compare roman aristocracy to the poorest peasant in the empire. Then powerful merchants/nobility in the commonwealth times vs slaves or farmers. And in the modern era, the tech billionaires and politicians vs. a welfare family or 3rd world dirt farmer. The difference between them increases as time advances because while the minimum wealth is always zero, the maximum wealth /power/ quality of life grows ever higher for the elites & ruling class.

Imagine in the far distant future where the supremely wealthy might own and control entire planets. The poorest of the poor will be down in the dirt with $0.00 to their name, and the difference between the min and max wealth will be incomprehensible.

Most people here have it as the second most common tertiary diversification after Platinum (I'd say about as many people stack GS/Pall as G/S/Copp though); the reason why not many talk about it though, is because:
- First of all, lots of people here are stacklets who haven't even got the funds to even diversify into Gold
- Second because you need a shitton of it. If people think Silver fills a vault quick, they've not seen a true copper stack. Not many bullions do bars (it's kino when they do though), simply because you need to start with large bars to begin with to really make it a worthwhile amount to stoe value in.
- Finally; coppers got a slight amout of stigma from nigs stripping houses of it; making it easily the most ghetto precious metal of the bunch.

Won't deny it's got promise, but it's already close to real value due to how much physical wire is traded on the daily anyways.

You also have hundreds of monarchs and dictators like Song Shenzong, Alan Rufus, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, Mansa Musa, Osman Ali Khan, whose wealth sat in the hundreds of billions while their subjects lived as subsistence farmers. Wealth inequality has always existed when someone rules another. It's not those who have and those who don't, it's those who govern and those who do not.

That peak was due to the coronadump of March 12, 2020. I think Trump announced that travel between Europe and the US would be severely restricted going forward due to the coronaviurs, and all markets dumped that day as a reaction. Silver dumped particularly hard relative to gold.

>> No.21706885

>>21706621
Historically, and I'm talking thousands of years not hundreds, the gold/silver ratio has been around 12-15:1, meaning you'd need somewhere between 12 and 15 pieces of silver to buy 1 piece of gold. This was largely the same since Alexander the Great (~300BC), and even Washington fixed the gold/silver ratio at 15:1 for the USA. If you look at geosurveys that assess the physical presence of gold and silver on planet earth, that ratio is about 17:1.

To answer your graph, a lot of people are bullish on silver because it is historically undervalued against gold, and silver and gold have historically worked simultaneously with silver as everyday money and gold as a store of greater wealth. Your chart shows the ratio at 70:1, so with this info, why do you think there was a drop and do you think it's a good ratio?

I think people think about the gold/silver ratio too much. It's not as useful as it seems. It's a lot easier to do analysis on GOLD vs USD or SILVER vs USD.

tl;dr
>PMs are a physical thing, and in turn on the stock market, you obviosuly can't throw them around that easily
>In turn, for each bit of metal around, the stock market essentially has a representitive IOU note equivalent to how much you're trading
>However, these IOU notes are essentially fiat versions of the PM; which is bad, because the PM itself is not fiat and if anybody asks to redeem their IOU note, they have to have it delivered
>Up until now, the stock market has been trudging on printing more IOU notes than actual Gold/Silver, but the economy has given it a free pass, because calling them out on it would instantly crash PMs, which make up a disproportionately large swing in the entire markets, given they're essentially the bank where you store your value against inflation better than the actual bank itself. In turn, if PMs are fucked over at any point, the entire stock market will crash overnight, so by using this necessity, it's used it's privaleged postion of 'I cant fail' to leverage the ability to *poof* up more IOU notes than actual metal on Earth
>Now, since PMs are the 'safe money', it also looks bad if PMs get too expensive, as it indicates severe market instability, which drives the markets down. How do you fix this? Well, all you need is for PMs to be worth less. How do you do this? Fix+Stabilize the economy, or spread the value of the same sized PM market over a larger amount of IOU notes. Guess which they're doing (in part, because attempting to fix/stabilise the economy would also crash it overnight)
So in essence, what they've been doing is simply (from a market point of view) increasing that amount of PMs in circulation, devaluing it and in turn supressing the price (ie THE JUST DUMPED $10T ON THE MARKET!). And it's also setting up an even bigger crash (better for us) come the inevitable day when - COMEX can't deliver on those IOU notes, because at that point, the entire house of cards comes tumbling down.

Also, chekt

>> No.21709736

Only a small amount is delivered each month. Most of the market is just speculators and roll their positions before delivery. This happens in oil too. When they can't roll, and they are forced to take delivery in oil you see negative prices. If it happens in PMs and they cant roll because people are demanding delivery you'll see a moonshot. You have to realize they can also change the rules. In 1981 they changed the rules and crushed the market. This is a national security issue.

Don't any of you realize there's no point in worrying about things you can't control?

Depends. It could break JPMorgan and HSBC which would trigger a banking crisis. As custodians they are borrowers of GLD and SLV investors. If the PM market breaks they could be liable for trillions in damages

Yes you can. IDK about shipping costs, but retail buyers are paying premiums for 1k bars

>> No.21710053

>>21709922
From what I have heard from at least one minter, they can't get wholesale bars in order to refine into retail products. They can't even get lists of bars. They are told they need to "buy" now, but don't expect a delivery until early next year. I believe the shortage is not at the retail level, but higher up the chain.

They are currently focused on minting gold products. I saw it in a video somewhere

Rethinking my physical buying strategy today. I'm going to let the day play out and prices land where they will, but without fail cleaning out the LCS of anything of quality tomorrow morning.

GLD market cap is $78B
What if it blows up, gold does a 10x and they are liable for close to a trillion?

>> No.21710182

>>21710101
Don't need it today. It's a relic of a time where in order to communicate, people needed to come to one place to make a market. Now, miners can sell directly to refiners who can sell directly to consumers and industry.

>> No.21710198

Yes, that's my guess. Very few people seem to want to actually sell. If there aren't any sellers, there isn't a market.

That is damages. If it turns out the GLD is just leased gold the damages will be in the hundreds of billions

Nothing. If I were in their shoes, it's what I'd do. The premium on physical is to the point where it's instant profit to just take delivery.

They'll make sure it doesn't happen and take a lawsuit instead

Right, and they'll slap it down as far as they possibly can to pay as little as possible and eat a manipulation fine/suit that's already in the works.
