It's this really cool statistic, that you learn if you do any stat, math, algebra or economics course. It used to be included in little frog education.

You can compare city to city, metro to metro (more favorable) or state to state medians or averages.

Then you can work backwards and find out what are the most biggest employers and what the median average salary is, this is conducted in the USA by the BLS. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

This allll combines together and creates a supply and demand aggregate that forces employers to pay higher wages, for *needed* jobs and drives salaries up for "essential" jobs like NPC cashier or uber driver.

There's demand to live in a metro, a downtown, the jobs in that area must pay more.

Now every job does not pay enough, but it is enough for the lowest bidder to apply and accept, a token minority - which is why corporations want to (((empower))) minorities because they have labor requirements and want the best median price.

But before I get off track, fancy cities pay higher salaries and therefore drive the riff raff out and they come in and burn it up and make it cheap again and then sell their stake and it happens again.

I make $55k in NYC and live just fine with lots extra every paycheck. Just learn to live below your means a little? And don't live in the literal heart of NYC, just love in one of the outter counties that are a 10-15 minute train ride to the center.
