Banks have been telling you that there is no safer alternative. Banks will give you measly returns, not even 1% a year in most cases.

They then use your capital to make riskier investments to make money for themselves.

Don't listen to the people telling you to dump your money into savings accounts or just 401ks. Be smart with your money. You have decades to work off of, don't be complacent.

Of course, we're on /smg/ so I assume that most people here are somewhat concerned about their well beings and their financial futures.

But remember, for every /smg/ member present, there are millions of complacent sheep putting every paycheck into their Bank of America savings account and being happy about 1% returns per year.

Anybody can spend 3 hours studying the basics of the stock market and decide to money into things like VTI or DIA, or even things like selling covered calls on safe blue chip stocks like Microsoft - but for most people even that is too risky.

Stay thirsty, but stay alert. The banks are always out to get us.

I looked them up. It's apparently a subsidiary of Dean Foods which filed for bankruptcy in 2019 after reporting 7 quarters of losses in the past 8 quarters.

I can see this happening as non-dairy drinks are super popular now among the mainstream. Although, I don't see them actually disappearing since they are such a staple of the milk/dairy industry. I love Berkeley Farms.

But I have seen some new products like Chobani Oatmilk (fucking delicious..) and if I could bet on product futures, I'd definitely bet a healthy amount of money on oatmilk and oat futures.

>“Actually… someone is buying a LOT of 8/21 $2,100 call options,” GLJ Research founder Gordon Johnson told Benzinga. “This has been going on a LOT (i.e., someone buying way out of the money short-dated call options, which forces the person writing these options to buy stock), which has pushed the stock up consistently.”

On Thursday morning, there were 55,616 contracts worth of volume in Tesla $2,000 call options expiring Friday and 22,892 contracts worth of volume on Friday $2,100 call options. The $2,000 strike price contracts and the $2,100 contracts have open interests of 14,798 and 5,091, respectively.

Upward Spiral: Stanphyl Capital Partners portfolio manager and Tesla short seller Mark Spiegel has also recently noticed the strange trading activity in the Tesla option market.

“Some entity — I don’t know who — was executing a strategy of buying massive quantities of out-of-the-money call options,” Spiegel said of Tesla’s huge run in 2020.

This strategy forced call option sellers to buy Tesla shares to cover their positions, according to Spiegel.

“This thing just kind of spiraled its way up,” he said.

That exists in a more structured way in brazil, but the thing is that uber is not "a taxi hailing app". The problem is that taxis are tightly regulated and:
- Their fees are up to 4x what you'd pay for uber
- Their attitude is cancer, they always do their best to scam you especially since you usually have no gps/notion of cost if you don't go out of your way for it (an app could easily fix this)
- Because of regulations, it's virtually impossible to lodge complaints against taxis in most of the world, meanwhile uber resolves issues correctly almost immediately almost always.

Yes, because they make money. Which Uber never did in 44 straight quarters. A business that literally doesn't make money is not a business.
>Their attitude is cancer, they always do their best to scam you especially since you usually have no gps/notion of cost if you don't go out of your way for it (an app could easily fix this)
Which you can integrate into the app. Just make it talk to google maps or something so you see you get the shortest route available. It is how Uber fucking does it.
>Because of regulations, it's virtually impossible to lodge complaints against taxis in most of the world, meanwhile uber resolves issues correctly almost immediately almost always
I'd like a link to this because a lot of the Uber lawsuits have been about the behavior of their drivers. Because after all, they do almost zero screening.

This is so retarded, it doesn't mean they had to buy five million TSLA shares after writing calls, most of what they write is already covered from either from what their clients own or their own position. They can also buy shares from their clients who sell them.

It doesn't even make any sense if they weren't covered because they would be pushing up the price and losing a bunch of money versus waiting and letting the calls stay out of the money so the contracts expire.

Uber undercut its rates because they'd be almost identical to taxis anyway. Likely higher because of all the other expenses and cashburn they have.
