You have to weed through all the shilling and fudding to figure out which is authentic and which is bullshit, and God help you if your brain is too smooth to understand the technical aspects of the crypto, the tokenomics, its likelihood to moon in the future, etc.
Plus you have to try to catch a token with a low-enough marketcap in order to maximize potential gains should it ever moon
And even if you luckily pick the right token to hold, you'll likely have to wait for years while wondering if you picked wrong, and being tempted to go all in another token that /biz/ is hyping
And even if you hold until a moon, the moon will likely be 100x AT BEST, depending on when you bought in

Get a cheap laptop, wipe it. Make sure no foreign devices are connected to your network. Once you wipe it boot into safemode with networking and generate a fresh new wallet on MEWconnect. Don't use 2FA through your phone's texting feature, most major exchanges allow you to use a third party 2FA system, I prefer the google one myself.

I don't have any advice as far as losing your anxiety over large amounts of money other than this; unless you understand your investment, why it has value, and it's potential price in the future you will ALWAYS be nervous about it especially if it actually increases in value and you WILL sell at a loss. You have to be 100% convinced that over the course of time even if it takes 5 years you will make more of a return than stocks. I am pretty paranoid with my security, but I do keep seeing people talking about coins disappearing out of their metamask after clicking strange links. The obvious solution is of course to not go to strange places and connect your metamask to them in the first place but as far as I'm concerned I just avoid it. I'm sure there are probably ways for people to change quantities on you, change destination addresses, etc etc. If someone can remote into your PC if you're logged into metamask it doesn't ask for password confirmation for each transaction either. Maybe there are settings you can change but at the very least this is a default.

What I'm getting at is too many potential risks vs just getting a paper wallet
