I'm a FLOW holder. Here's some criticism:

1. anonymous developer
2. not all tokens the dev have are locked up - haven't done the math on percentages but for example part of the advertising allotment is unlocked and the dev could dump them on the market at any time - then again if they were locked how could he use them for advertising/partnerships?
3. no utility outside of the inflation (I don't feel this is worth mentioning but ah well)

If any of the above bother you enough not to invest, don't. Or, join the telegram and get a feel for the community and developer and maybe you'll decide to throw in with us and make mad stacks when normies get in on FLOW.

It's deflationary (1% of every transaction gets burned) so it allows for volume farming in pools. It could become the retirement coin for everybody that "makes it" (2.180.000 yearly return on 500k with yesterday's numbers in the STA/ETH uniswap pool).
Balancer is about to refund 1.500.000$ in different coins (the 20% STA part was already refunded today by the devs, that's what caused the dump) to all statera holders that were victims of the hack that emptied the entire pool and that money will, for the most part, flow back in STA and cause an huge pump.

The price will crash because no one would have any reason to get it after the whales have their large make-it stacks. If there are lots of people with millions of dollars holding it, well they don't really have millions of dollars unless they sell. Since there is no intrinsic value to the thing except to make early holders rich (that is, there is nothing to attract new people to the asset a year from now), there will be tremendous selling pressure and this will go nowhere. Anyone holding this needs to pay attention and sell half after they've made back their original investment and then carefully watch it. This will have a market cap of <5 million dollars a year from now, guaranteed.

What is an index fund?

An index fund is a fund that can track a specified basket of underlying investments and in this case: BTC, ETH, LINK all balanced with STA.

The rules are that these coins are set in the fund at a specified percent so as one goes up or down the others are automatically bought or sold to balance risk and maximize profit. HOWEVER, the key is that STA is deflationary (whenever an STA transaction happens for buying/selling/pooling, 1% of the transaction of STA is burned). This token burn + tokens being locked in pooling pressures prices up to again make sure the other coins will be balanced. You also are given a % of all the fees paid in STA transactions up to 36% APY and during a run up to 40,000% APY.

The power of STA is that the ripple effect of: (1) compounded fees, (2) token burn, (3) price pulled up by ETH, BTC, and LINK leads to an exponential effect and positive feedback loop on price.

Can the team dump? No, this is the most decentralized token as the project much like BTC is out of Satoshi's hands, STA is out of the hands of the devs who only own <4%.

In short, Statera:

1. Increases positive price pressure and decreases volatility - caused by the deflation
2. Gives one token access to the ecosystem, price action of assets its pegged to, and benefits of arbitrage
3. Deflation can be put into any index fund (Balancer pool) or other financial instrument
4. Deflation rewards loyalty, if you get in early when supply is high, as supply goes down assets get more valuable
5. Diversification - You can hold many assets in the ecosystem
6. Passive income- make money while you hold your crypto (over 30% APY)

TL:DR

In simple terms the Burn function of STA is designed to create volume. In a way Statera discovered "Volume Farming".

>> No.21638236

>>21638009
This argument was presented countless times. The incentive to buy the coin is the possibility to pool to get a disgustingly high ROI. When the coin is in a pool, it gets burned constantly, making it more valuable over time.
Also, you need to consider the fact that the fees the pool pays you are tied to all the coins in the pool, not to STA's value.

Same for FLOW in 2030 when no new tokens are minted.

Until those dates, they are inflationary.

defaltion -> supply goes down

I'm not going to shit on you like everyone else but btc is very much inflationary. Proof of Work and the concept of "mining" have introduced problems that didn't exist. It's probably the one thing Satoshi didn't fully think through. It's also why he can't be Japanese, because any Japanese man would know that Chinese people will inevitably fuck everything up. A key fundamental step in Japanese problem-solving is accounting for the Chinese Menace, and boy have they fucked up btc.

Mining crypto introduces inflation. You are not mining BTC, and you never will be. Ever. If you were you'd be operating at a heavy loss. Almost all of the inflation of BTC goes to CCP run mining operations. If you hold 1 BTC forever, the value will indeed go up due to it's scarcity, but you'll only ever receive more by buying more. The CCPs bag claims the inflation, diluting your value over time.

Flow's inflation mechanism is meant to address this directly. The inflation is applied automatically to holder's wallets at a rate set by the Era. You can read the white paper to find out more, it's very straightforward which is apparently reason to FUD but I don't give a shit about that. In short, if you own 50% of the flow today you will own 50% of the flow in 30 years. In effect, everyone is a miner.

The current distribution of wallets is refreshing. You can see it here: https://etherscan.io/token/0xc6e64729931f60d2c8bc70a27d66d9e0c28d1bf9#balances
There are some large wallets in the top 20 but you'll find that it drops quickly.

This, along with the fact that there is no Dev, VC, Silicon Valley Dipshit, or Ivy League hack holding 65% of the supply hostage is why people call this "rug proof". The dev has done everything the community has asked of him. This project could have been DoA if they used the institutional model that 99% of projects have been built around recently. This one has a pure vision for store of value that's fair for all holders.

FLOW token and its distribution are governed by Eras. At the end of each Era the inflation rate
is halved. The first era, called the Genesis Era, lasts for 60 days. After the Genesis Era there

Here are some things I'd add to the list as a fellow hodler:

1. Project Age. It's not even a week old. This is a perfectly valid reason to avoid the project until you feel confident in it.
2. It's currently only available on Uniswap. Uniswaps primary use-case is siphoning valuable eth out of people's hopes and dreams and converting it to btc.
3. People are retarded. YAM tried to do what FLOW is already doing and failed. AMPL has institutional bagholders who made the project dead on arrival. These coins have a ~25M and ~175M market cap respectively. AMPL at one time had 700M or something like that. If anyone holding either of these coins doesn't see that they are scams and Flow is the true vision, then I will lose whatever hope for humanity I have left in me.
4. Uncertain future. While the project is open and implemented with good intentions, it's always possible we're being taken for a ride.
