Honestly I don't think XSN can ever recover from this. Bl*ckn*t dev completely and utterly destroyed XSN.

It’s not a problem XSN doesn’t use PIVX code like they assume they do in fact X9 devs were the ones that told PIVX back in December 2017 that they have a big problem with their seesaw mechanism which is why XSN didn’t use it and they never got credit from PIVX for bringing it to their attention. XSN is a first of class fork as show. Not going to lie and say it’s perfect as it isn’t but it does what needs to be done for now. Hydra is when the big upgrade comes to the chain and MN’s along with it but as announced just the other day a chain upgrade is coming in the next week or so to implement cold staking and MN management from ledger devices and during that they are using it as an opportunity to sort out some outstanding issues at the same time so it’s a non-issue.

>> No.21593772

Crab in a bucket mentality

Blockek failed and they don’t want to see XSN rise from their ashes because it will remind them of all the time, blood and sweat they put in; they’ll amount to nothing.

So by any mean they’ll try try and try to bring down XSN to their level, but in the end, just like their DEX - it’ll amount to nothing.

You idiots on this board don't know squat about tech, nor will you ever... but only if you convince the other brainlets on biz that you do, that's all that matters right? lel

That codebase issue has nothing to do with seesaw garbage you twat.

Last I check Uniswap is an ETH DEX right...? Oh, right. Even what you fags are building is 100x more difficult than what Uniswap or Kyber or any of those other lazy fucks have accomplished.

Whoever said Blocknet's DEX was promoted mainstream yet? It hasn't even been marketed yet you fools since the XRouter backend was being honed paving the way for all types of lite clients. Funny enough with full node trading this DEX sees far more than XSN will see this entire year (XSN seething and fake trading incoming based on this comment though).

Didn’t say it had anything to do with Seesaw just saying Seesaw was the reason why X9 didn’t fork PIVX for XSN and instead used Dash and Peercoin which had their own set of issues but were good enough to do what was needed at the time. Hydra has always been the big chain/MN upgrade so XSN can do its own thing but right now it isn’t needed. However as a chain upgrade is needed right now to add TPoS and MN management to Ledger via the new lightwallet it’s a good time to put some of those fixes in place at the same time so that’s what is being done.

Glad you appreciate that what XSN is doing by building a cross chain Layer 2 DEX is much more difficult than anything that has already been done before.

False, that's not what I said... I said it's more difficult than any solely ETH-based DEX. Funny enough, building a Layer 2 is a lot easier than a real DEX cause you get to make your own rules... but hey, who's keeping score around here anymore.

If it’s so easy to do what XSN is doing on Layer 2 then why hd nobody else accomplished it yet? People are realising the issues with onchain dexes due to Uniswaps rise and what happens when a blockchain gets flooded and more and more are asking where are the Layer 2 dexes. Andreas gave a great talk on DEX at the weekend and even he said once Layer 2 dexes arrive it will make Layer 1 dexes redundant as they won’t be needed. XSN:

>Failed ICO project, had to rebrand cause rekt... tries to follow every single hype item but takes so long to build it that by the time it's in beta it's already 2 years old news (aka flawed LN)
>No public release DEX yet
>Outdated codebase
>Claims Oracles, zero progress
>Invalid listing on CMC
>Shitty exchanges

BLOCK:

>OG project that never had to rebrand to run away from its past
>One of the first in the BTC-based DEX space
>Working DEX + public release
>Oracles working
>XRouter product honed allowing any service node operator to become a infura-like provider of any chain or non-chain data source
>Valid listing on CMC
>Completely overhauled and updated basecode featuring state-of-the-art on-chain governance never seen before
>Litewallet built on breakthrough XRouter tech due to be released
>DEX mechanics and security checks that render layer 2 useless (check out Blocknet's 0-conf trading)

God this fud is so old. X9 devs of XSN were nothing to do with the POSW business they were hired to build the blockchain for POSW and that’s it. When POSW the business failed X9 kept the POSW blockchain as they had built up a relationship with the POSW community and used it for their own plans turning it into XSN. X9 could have easily left and just did an ICO for their plans but instead they stayed and salvaged POSW, if they hadn’t then all those POSW holders would have lost everything. I don’t see how people can try and use what X9 did as a source of fud as they didn’t have to do what they did and could have easily took the easy ICO route for a quick payday but they didn’t they stayed.

You say they jump on every hype item but a Layer 2 DEX was always what was being built as the first dApp on the platform and it’s only just now that people are starting to realise the benefits of a Layer 2 DEX so to me that shows incredible foresight in the market as they knew way back then that this was going to be needed in the future.

Codebase has been explained in this thread multiple times

Oracles are on the roadmap and have been since the beginning so they didn’t just add them but the lightwallet and DEX has been priority over everything else. Blocknet of all people should know that a working lightwallet something that is needed for adoption.

CMC have been fucking around with Stakenet page for the last month or so at one point they removed all of their active markets for over a week for no reason then they mysteriously came back after they started getting called out on it.

Shitty exchanges, yep XSN has never been one to pursue exchanges as what’s the point when the best place to buy/sell XSN will be the DEX so better to direct people to that to trade over some CEX.

trading was pretty fast (about 1-2 minutes on average for a BLOCK/LTC trade, as far as I know it also depends on the configured minimum of required confirmations), the bigger problem was not only to download the litecoin blockchain but that the litecoin chain got corrupted a few times (over a span of maybe half a year), so I had to redownload parts of it (not a problem on blocknet side of course)

when using the litewallet (alpha) you only need to download the blocknet chain

the plan is to integrate everything into one application and at some point just into some browser addon or go web based, but this will likely take some time

there are currently some sketches for a redesign of Block DX, but thats looks only

and a technical achievement currently being implemented into Block DX (otherwise available via command line) are partial orders, so you can atomic swap only a part of an order (to more mimic how trading works on CEXs)

Not really accurate to say the block dex has been out for 2 years. I mean yeah it's been possible to trade, but you need to download full blockchains for each coin so no one is going to bother doing that. It's already a lot more user friendly than that video posted above.

I honestly don't know if livecoin has KYC or not, I've sent all my btc to it from other exchanges that do have kyc, though. A lot of the points are incorrect though. The DEX isn’t solely LN as Raiden integration is being done right now infact if you grab a Linux version of the beta you can do BTC/wETH swaps right now.

Codebase is outdated but it does what it needs to do for now, it has always been planned to do a big update with Hydra to bring it where it needs to be, however as there is a chain update coming in the next week or two to finally bring Cold Staking and MN management to ledger a lot of the shit bits are being resolved at that time until Hydra.

Oracles are on the roadmap and have always been on it, Devs only have so many resources so can’t pursue everything at once and all focus is on Lightwallet and DEX as that is the showcase for what dapps can be built on the platform for hydra.

Viper is a blockchain router but again on hold for now as devs were pulled off it to finish lightwallet and DEX.

no they're not running full eth nodes. full eth nodes are only used to provide consensus for layer 1 transactions, and no single party needs to run a node to transact; the dex hubs will obviously interact with them, but there's no requirement to run them to execute layer 2 transactions via raiden.

here's an architecture overview of what a dex hub is, and how hubs will transition to Master Nodes between now and Hydra (planned for near the end of 2021). right now the nodes are basically just VPCs linked to the blockchain to enable rewards; in the long run, they will be required to run hubs to earn trading fees.

i am not "concern trolling" that traders need full nodes, i am asking who is running these nodes and how a trader verifies that he indeed gets reliable information about blockchain states in a decentralized way

it is actually quite funny to see all of this silence as soon as you even slightly need to understand some crypto basics to answer

>how does a wallet work
yeah. the trader is the one initiating the lightning channel or raiden connection, not the node.

the node services the order book, not the explicit transaction fulfillment. the transaction fulfillment happens via the lite wallet functionality, which is where the channel is initiated and maintained. the wallets sync and then initiate LN connections, but the nodes manage the order book and support the facilitation of order matching.

it's clearly just a concern troll. he has no interest in understanding the function of the dex, he's just trying to ask questions he doesn't think can be answered.

he's very aggressive and not actually seeking info. when it comes down to it he's just trying to start a fight and imply that the dex is not feasible to execute because
>eth nodes are really hard to service guise and this matters if you want to run an xsn matter node

it hooks into remote nodes - like literally any other lite wallet. in theory a master node could run eth nodes, but it's certainly not a requirement to manage functional erc swaps.

in order to maximize the decentralized nature of the planned deployment, it may make sense for them to deploy eth nodes in the VPCs for stakenet Master Nodes, but there are other ways to hook into the beacon chain using remote nodes to support the users.

I mean the question of how lite wallets are supported by nodes is not unique to this particular lite wallet. you don't need to build your own eth nodes to call back to the chain - you just need to connect to existing nodes.

with that said there isn't a ton of published detail on how the raiden architecture will work - it's still in early beta phase.

it's one thing to do the swap, it's another thing to set it up trustless

run by stakenet devs?

I bet 25 XSN this is the same person who larped as an "expert coder" a few weeks ago when XSN cracked and then fell beneath 2k sat. It doesn't really matter. Why can't you be happy for the success of others? Jealousy can be an evil thing.

but i don't want to say "xsn should use it", i just want to know "how does xsn solve this problem"

and i, personally, see this as a problem. not today, not tomorrow, but at some point in time you will see projects cracking that are not really decentralized. this whole space is not only about minimalizing single points of failure, but removing them at all
