21583132 No.21583132 [Reply] [Original]

as promised here is the iexec article
https://medium.com/@j48/iexec-use-case-price-feeds-using-the-coinbase-price-oracle-c5a79dbf2d26
here is the final version of the dapp
https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmQ4CY6fSbys5bfAE2nFoKJ5KgXZUEoQeQZv2MnfGFDH3h

was hard limiting it to 5min without trashing other projects... but I think it's good enough during a no news month and given RLCs current position
I might maintain the code... I'm not sure yet (js code really needs to be cleaned up and the css is a mess)
I will not make any effort beyond this to spread the article or dapp due to reasons (unless I decide to update it in the future)
again, the main goal is to get coinbase's attention that there's an actual crypto project out there that is currently capable of using their API in a meaningful way...

feel free to modify the code or republish
good luck

>Essentially the python code within the dapp acts as an API requester to receive current price data and then acts like a JSON parser to search through the data for only information related to the input symbol.

Chainlink is kinda focused on one usecase, iExec is pretty much Turing complete in its design and much more of a sandbox environment.

Technically you could run a decentralized chatbot (AI anime gf) app on iexec for example. Because it makes the computations so much cheaper than with ETH you can design Dapps that are extremely compute intensive and only keep the really minimum most important stuff (like the results) as a "notary act" on Ethereum.

The contra of that is that it's maybe too blurry to most people and iexec is yet to find its first popular usecase.

>> No.21586292

Rlc iexec will be added on coinbase that’s for sure. Coinbase uses the iexec product. What other projects they use? There are only a few.
You are nuts if you think coinbase won’t list iexec. Will happen before year ends. Sept i would say coinbase list them
