My problem with statera is that it's not an index fund. The price is linked to the underlying assets, but through the balancer pool, rather than directly tracking the fund value. If the assets go up, statera is purchased by the balancer, and vice-versa. Hence gains and losses arent distributed to all holders equally, but to those who buy and sell first after movements.

I.e. it's a soft ponzi disguised as an index fund. It is 100% not an index fund.

So what an index fund does is keep assets at a certain ratio (for example, 50/30/10/10). if one of the assets go up that asset will sell off and buy the other asset to keep the ratio intact. So, in practice,The assets are continuously buying and selling... re-calibrating constantly just to keep that ratio.

Ok, so where does the STA token come in? Like why use it in an Index Fund you want to create? Yes, any one of you can create your own pool on Balancer.

The STA token basically allows you to capture trading volume within an index fund since the index fund is constantly buying and selling assets to keep its ratio constant. thats why they are calling it "Volume Farming". This is the ONLY token right now that has the ability to do that.

Now this is just the beginning of the ecosystem.
