https://www.mba.org/2020-press-releases/august/mortgage-delinquencies-spike-in-the-second-quarter-of-2020

But with interest rates as low as they are, there's subprimes that are signing up for more mortgages as they become "more affordable" so now we're building another '08 to try and fix 2020. Actually I think the Fed is backstopping the loans with their MBS purchases, in either case we're getting fucked silly.

And these delinquencies are the tip of the iceberg. That's just housing, imagine all the Taco Bell workers in the states that financed a new car with their subprime credit allowance that got shitcanned.

We could talk about commercial REITs, too. 26 bankruptcies in the retail sector so far, this year.

Bar and restaurants are still down. Department stores are below their already poor moving average. Gas stations are still sitting at -16% YoY. Clothing -21% YoY. Car sales down 8% YoY. And most every institution in the consumer sector suffered massive downward spikes.

It's getting doled out piecemeal with a 5-7yr window and there's already a bill to push ZEVs alongside a 15 state MoU rife with plans to subsidize public vehicles (read: USPS). CA approved it for the HVIP program, CARB has $1bn in funding to issue vouchers worth $50k a piece (read 1 WKHS C1000). On top of a $7.5k subsidy for EVs issued by the Federal Government.

I'll agree that commercial real estate is on the brink of dumping in the very near future (online and big box retailers are killing small businesses who aren't able to pay their rent and by extension investors who rely on that rent are getting absolutely fucked). However lending has tightened up considerably on all forms of loans, subprime lenders aren't getting money right now, not since the bank audits and the Fed slapped the banks around a bit and took their toys away (stock buybacks and C suite stock handouts). We haven't seen lending this tight since the great financial crisis which could in theory lead to a very real crash that will make March look like a blip on the radar. The US is a debt based economy and if lending slows down then we're in a world of economic hurt.

Personally I'm holding cash and crypto (will convert crypto to stable coins in a month or so depending on market action) and exiting the few stock positions I have left. If I make a stock play it will be short term swing trading.

Huh now that's interesting, I haven't really considered that, pretty hopeful if true. I like the part where he points out how unprecedented fiscal policy is going right into the real economy, I was listening to George Gammon talk about the m2 money supply and how the fed is playing a crafty shell game with securitized loans, I don't fully understand but it lines up. I'm not sure if he's right obviously, but then I base my thesis that interest rates will go negative on a scary dream I had

You're young, just do some traveling the best way you can. It'll be the time of your life. When I was 18 I left home on the US east coast with 50 bucks and ended up traveling all over the western half of the country. Lived in the California desert for a while, lived in the mountains in Colorado, stayed in Phoenix AZ and partied, went up to the pacific northwest for a while. Messed around in the Joshua Tree national forest when I went back down to Cali. Met a bunch of women and cool people. Now I'm grown up and responsible with a lot more money but given the chance I'd probably trade it all to go back. Thanks for reading my blog

They should, it's just a limited risk diagonal spread. The only thing that makes it special is the long calls should be deep ITM LEAPS if you can afford it. Otherwise, just buy closer and less ITM as necessary. The short calls should be no more than 30-45 days to expiration and OTM. Even Robinhood lets you do this
