Well, as with any cryptos the price is very volatile in the short term. No one will know whether it will be .50 next week, or .20. It's always a long game and you really have to be patient. There's never really "missing the boat," you're just decreasing your potential profit margin--high risk, high reward (or loss.)

The bull market is just getting started relative to the crypto market ATH. ETH even at $400 is a good deal considering the ATH is $1200. The real test comes in when you're in a bear market and people panic sell (2017-early 2020.) LINK was $.20 in 2017, but in this new bull market it's hit ATH. A lot of people sold before this year out of hopelessness but you need to have iron hands for the projects you believe in. That being said, I would recommend taking some profits, and increasing your position on the dips. You don't realize a loss until you sell, never buy high and sell low--be a bagholder if you believe in your investment. I think your strategy seems good of investing as you earn. If I wasn't unemployed at the moment I would be doing the same. Just don't invest more than you can afford to lose. I've made plenty of losses, but I just watched the markets for years like a hawk and constantly bought dips that I thought were too good to be true (ETH for $120 in January, etc.)

Also, don't worry, I bought some ETH at ATH also. Since then I made what I lost back and moreover. The most important thing I learned is never keep your coins in an exchange--I got burnt out of tons of cash when exchanges shut down. Always store coins in a wallet. If it's a digital wallet (MetaMask is my preference) save your keys. Seriously, write down the private key or seed words on a piece of paper and keep it with your other important documents in case your computer or phone stops working. You can also get hardware wallets, but I don't know much about those because I don't use any.

It's a slow game, but if you keep watching markets and learn when to take profits (cash out or put it into Tether) and reinvest on the dips, you will slowly increase your stacks, and you can use profits to invest in other projects. Don't get too concerned with diversifying when you don't have too much invested. Cryptos/Blockchain is still a pretty new technology and you will always find new opportunities if you familiarize yourself with the use cases of blockchain, learn to read the technical whitepapers, and don't FOMO into scam coins. ALWAYS DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, DON'T TAKE ANYONE'S WORD ON HERE INCLUDING MY OWN
