Also this, Buffet has said that he doesn't like gold because it doesn't throw off revenue. Miners are how he's getting exposure to the metal, while getting income in the meantime. Miners are also a riskier way to invest in gold, so if he's bullish on miners than he has to be bullish on gold too. Buffet is not known for betting on anything that isn't a sure thing.
