Also OP this is what I did. I put part of my LINK as collateral to Aave, borrowed USDT(converted to ETH on Uniswap) and bought some LP. This way if Linkpool will be the sole staking provider, you are good since you can pay that loan back with your returns or just sell the share anytime and pay it back since I doubt LP will fall anytime soon. Or if it isn't the sole staking provider, it will still be one of the staking providers with the best returns since the LINK supply in the node is limited to only shareholders. Kinda win win.

Holy shit you fucking retard. My liq is at a health factor of 5 meaning LINK has to be at about $3.3 for me to get liquidated. If it even nears those levels, I got 15k more LINKs to add to my collateral to make that health factor moon harder than LINK. It's called a calculated risk you dumbfuck. If LINK dumps down to below $1 it means something serious happened and it's all over anyway.
>>21411599
I just bought my 0.28 LP a couple of days ago at about 65-70 per ETH. I bought it to hedge against staking pools not being available except for Linkpool only. I'm not in a hurry to sell it at all. Good luck getting your LP, just put a buy order up at 80 and it might just get filled by some guy who would rather chase some promising DeFi shit.

I'm not sure how it's exactly calculated since there are some safety threshholds, but pic related I got $57k on Aave and $8k loan and my health factor currently at 4.99. So liquidation is at current LINK price($16.62) / 4.99 = $3.33

>>21412578
There's no set period. There is either you pay it back and you no longer have a loan or you just keep it there until it either accrues so much interest that it becomes a huge loan, bigger than your collateral in which case you get liquidated or your collateral goes down(LINK to $3.33 in my case), so you get liquidated. The APR as you can see is at about 6.81% so that loan will be $8544 a year from now(if USDT goes tits up the loan will be worthless so I wouldn't have to pay back shit).

Careful bro. I had the exact same notion. Thinking "well if LINK hits this price, everyone is fucked anyway", then March 12th happened. I was literally you. You are safe as pie in a theoretical regard, but wait till either you try to sell lp for eth as collateral and the network is so congested ot takes hours to go through, pr you'll pay through your teeth in gas, and suddenly youre low in eth, and you have to liquidate other crypto/ lp fpr eth and HOPE the transaction goes through.

Or even if al the above work out, which took around 8 hours for me, suddenly, AAVE stops working. It happened the 13th of march from 06.30 - 08.30. I was talking/ screaming at the spanish guy on their discord. I had it deposited on aave, but the "use as collateral" funcrion waant working.

You are very safe, but you are not immune. I had your EXACT same mindset, and it nearly killed me. I had chest pain for about 4 days because of how hard my heart was beating.

Always always ALWAYS keep some stablecoin as collateral available. I had 14k link on aave as collateral, which was worth fuck all when it hit 1.50 usd. Plus the ltv is 65%.

Trust me bro. Be very careful, keep stablecoin as an emergencu to whip off a third or half the debt. Stay safe x

>> No.21414627

>>21412578

Also the rates change. On march 12th o had 10m DAI out, and the interest was like 35% for that brief period. I was selling my lp off in chunks, praying for eth to go to dai, then for dai tp deposit as collateral, or dai to pau it off.

Ill never again use it. Ever. Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. I hope you dont get am expensive - dreams shatteres level of alesson

LINK won't go from $16 to $3 in a day bro. It took a fucking corona to make it go from $4.8 to $1.5. Currently my liq is at $3.33. If LINK is nearing $12, I'll deposit more LINK to put the liquidation below $1.5. LP can go to 0, I'm not planning on moving that at all. I got some of my LINKs on Coinbase and Binance where I can swap them for stablecoins and withdraw to Aave or just deposit more LINK to Aave. I know that there might be a scenario where Aave stops working which is why I'm keeping a big health factor. If LINK drops to $3 from $16 in just a couple of hours then so be it. I'll lose about 16% of my LINK stack in that kind of a massive black swan event.

What was your health factor then during the corona crash btw?

>> No.21415366

I seriously hope that there will be other pools, but there is a big possibility that other nodes won't have enough jobs to take on retail LINKs so only way to stake would be to run your own node or to own a share of a node like Linkpool.

Cant remember but fully, but it was 1.3 when LINK was at its lowest. Bear in mind that LINK hsd wicked down to 0.0001 on binance, bitmex bots went rogue and smashed it all down. Im telling you though, you're transactions on ethereum wont be picked up in a crisis. And you havent got just one, you'll have many. And you'll burn through more eth than you would think possible.

Gp ahead, im not your mom, just a fellow bro who went through something you thought was impossible, and barely msde it through. I know it never wemr below 1.35, but fuck me at the time i thought it was going to.

Also flash crashes exist my man. And they've happened across the board numerous times to all size of market cap coins. Link liquidity is already drying up like crazy.

In a crash to 12 usd, and everyonr is locked into staking/ linkpool/ bnt v2/ orher liquidity pools etx, and they cant get it out because of eth congestion, will force a massive flash crash xue to liquidations. Doesnt matter if you're safe if others arent, its a snow ball effect. And judging by how many new fags are on board lookong to borrow etc, its not an impossoble scenario

You are a dumb and hysterical little lady who doesn't even understand that she doesn't need AAVE.com to work for her to interact with her position. How else could you interact with their smart contact? Think.

>> No.21417562

>>21416634
That binance wick down to 0.0001 didn't affect the margin trading. I can understand that transactions might not go through, but it's not gonna flash crash to $3 on all of the exchanges. Remember that Aave uses Chainlink price aggregator which uses multiple exchanges. Flash crash to some $0.01 won't even be registered. The bottom during corona was $1.5 and it flash crashed to $1.35. Nothing drastic happened unless you kept a health factor lower than 4. Again, I understand your concerns and I have prepared for all the different scenarios including just losing the 16% of my LINKs that are on Aave, but I can't be living my life afraid of these complete doomsday scenarios that happen every 10 years and even if it happens I WILL STILL BE FINE. It's a calculated risk, you are just playing too much on that untamed fear. I get it, keeping a high health factor is necessary since there can be crashes that wick down hard. You are talking like the moment there is some crash, LINK will be valued at $0 and everyone on Aave will get completely liquidated.
>>21415885
Idk what to say bro. The only thing I can say that I'm personally not buying Linkpool because I want to get dividends for the share. I'm buying it because I would want to stake my LINKs and Linkpool is a top node. So on top of that Linkpool share dividends, you also get your LINK's staking rewards.

Lol. As in log in through MEW and access it from there? Yeah, I tried that you complete retard. I am telling you, there was an error. I got screens from Pablo saying if my position was liquidated, I would be reimbursed as I had contactes them and they admitted it was an error on their side. Phoneposting atm.

Also I could literally buy your mother to snort the shit out of my ass with how much LINK I have lol. Was offering my own direct experience in a black swan event where everything went wrong.

Fair enough. Totally respect it, and that day really held AAVEs up. Just be careful is all. I have a very solid 6 figure LINK stack, and couldn't access it due to private keys and seeds in different places. 16% is fine if you're comfy with it. Best of luck.

I can't believe I missed the Linkpool ICO even though I was browsing biz like 5 hours a day at least during that time, reading all the Chainlink related threads. I think I fell for the fud of having more LINKs is better than buying LP with your LINKs since I already had a small LINK stack. Was just a dumb highschooler back then as well. Now I try to do more of my own research, but it is quite exhausting. Nice stack you have btw.
