I started in Dec. Got in for @ .04. Got 2 darknodes.
Never selling as by my calcs these will be producing $1500 / month each within 12-24 months.
Imagine not getting a retirement node that will pay you for next 35 years.

The problem right now is the high gas fees are throttling volume on Ren and limiting fees for node holders. I'm optimistic it will rebound though.

ren dev loongy also emphasizes on security he knows that this thing might have to handle billion $ in the near future.
it was bitgo, kyber, ren who developed wbtc so he knows what he's doing

I got my node. I'll be fine. Fuck sassol and evan.

Eth OG's are the only people keeping this from booming. They literally think all other smartcontract chains will fail when the eth devs are badger dancing and delaying 2.0 till 2021

Question: isnt the entire market for darknodes going to be satisfied with like, 100 darknodes? REN isnt required to use a darknode, only as a downpayment to run one.

they called ampl a ponzi and led lambs to slaughter with yam which had the same rebase function. Him and Evan only pump projects they're early on.

Actually I bought 225k REN. Was shooting for a 3rd but now dca-ing out of my extra 25k. Will come very close to paying for my whole initial purchase.
Basically got 2 darknodes for free - each earning my btc every month.

Will someone explain the difference between Ren and Serum's cross chain swaps and why it is better? Seems like nobody would bother with Ren when you can do cross chain swaps on the decentralized exchanges themselves.

>> No.21411334

Anyone answer this?

>> No.21411375

Realistically, would hodling 10k as an investment be a good idea when never going to be able to afford 100k to start a darknode?

>> No.21411511

>>21411327
i dont know much about serum but ren is minting and burning mechanism. from what you are saying seems like the cross chain swap is limited within their exchange but for example if u want to use btc in eth defi apps, how are u going to do that? you have to mint your btc into renbtc which is an erc20

>> No.21411721

>>21411375
i think their will be pooling later from a 3rd party. ren dev himself said they wont do it but maybe someday by a 3rd party so if u dont have 100k u can pool with others to share the reward

solana is not decentralized so serum will not be decentralized. 130 Validators is a joke.

What no one will tell you during this eth pump is eth maxis are scared to death of tendermint. It is a much better consensus than the eth 2.0 implementation. Jae Kwon is a savant and his latest gossip on BFT consensus paper is brilliant.

Vitalik's only knock on tendermint is "only the best computers in the world can run it right now so that threatens decentralization." Meanwhile if AWS/Digital ocean were to censor blockchains using it, most ethereum projects would die.

Hyperdrive, Ren's consensus algorithm, is a modified tendermint. You're going to see a lot of projects copy it in the near future when its fastforwarding technique is open source.

A darknode is 100k REN. So max darknodes is 10,000 (1 billion total tokens) but realistically max is probably 3,000 or so.

>> No.21411837

they intentionally discouraged pooling to promote decentralization. They literally said fuck you to coinbase staking services and bisontrails.

If Ren promoted pooling this would already be on coinbase with a billion+ market cap, but they want to decentralize the darknodes.

>> No.21411908

>>21411752
you can deposit aave, borrow a stablecoin, swap for ren, and deposit it back into aave. Repeating this is leveraging. As ren goes up you have a higer $ value in collateral and can borrow more.
