had mine stuck on bootloader, solved it by opening ledger live as administrator and running the updater again
if it's stuck on update it seems you have to contact ledger

if you have the seed words, you can get a trezor and put the seed words in there and have access to your wallet again that way if you want

Yup, just get a Trezor. Unfortunately, Trezor does not have a secure element, which means, you should also add a passphrase (i.e. a 13th "word" of your choosing") and transfer the funds there, in case someone gets physical access to your Trezor.

Or, if you have no shitcoins, get a ColdCard. It's kind of pricey, but hands down the best HWW with security and privacy in mind.

With the seed phrase you can access the wallets without a ledger. At least for eth wallet.

I've never had any issue with my Ledger Nano S.
