I think that there are people that will continually scream about inflation and even doomsday scenarios, like a lot of these youtubers that get linked here. But, not everyone agrees with those scenarios. More likely it will play out that we have increased inflation but not a doomsday scenario, and after a while when the fears pass, gold and silver will tank like they did in 2011.

When you investigate these TA people you almost always find them to be frauds. David Brady is running his mouth on Twitter about getting yesterday's drop right, but he has been calling for gold to drop since it was $1670, and silver since it was $17; so what does it matter if they finally dropped from $2080 to $1880 and $29 to $25. He also shorted gold in late 2018 and missed the start of that bull market. Same case with respect to Gary Savage, who "called" this recent drop also, but held JNUG to the bottom in the 2016 collapse all the way to zero. Henrik Zeberg is another boaster about "calling" the recent drop, even though he has been calling for $700 gold for years.

I prefer to trust Peter Spina, Alasdair Macleod, James Turk, Andrew Maguire, and Craig Hemke. The people who rely on fundamentals and not meaningless lines on a chart. They have been far more right than wrong. Hemke, for example, called the silver breakout from $19 to $29 perfectly, as did James Turk; and that was on the basis of fundamentals, i. e. that J. P. Morgan would have to stop shorting or go bankrupt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EOPKizJ_Y4 Nobody should be selling anything. Don't miss the next move up in metals and miners, which could come at any time. Nobody can predict what is going to happen in this bull market, but you are more likely to lose by trying to jump in and out than simply holding your nerve and staying still.

They won't tank like in 2011, too much money was just printed. We won't go back to good old normal with that kind of unemployment and debt. It's not because of the Pandemic Meme, but it sure has accelerated every bad scenario that we were warned about. It pays to be prepared, this isn't the gold bull run yet. It would be okay to cash out when it does x6 like in the last crisis, but we're nowhere near there yet.

I'm not an economist, I don't really know, but I will say I'm 34 years old and I lived as an adult through the financial crisis and the gold/silver bull run of that time and what was said was EXACTLY THE SAME. It doesn't pan out. Eventually the fear just kinda passed.

I don't think it's so much that the youtuber gold salesmen are wrong, eventually this might catch up to us. But being too early is the same as being wrong. A lot of these guys have been calling for collapse for over a decade. Now is their moment to shine, but, they are just another set of permabears.

I mean Schiff makes some good points, but he claims he predicted the housing crisis. No he didn't lol.

This is false moderation. There is no possible escape from economic ruin this time. Gold dropped after 2011 because of 1) COMEX manipulation and 2) The Fed having a little ammunition left. They had 5% nominal yields to play with; they could prop up the system a little longer by doing Q. E. 1, 2, and 3, while lying that "eventually" they would normalize rates. Peter Schiff and others knew that that could never happen, but the Fed were able to fool the rest of the world. They can't fool it any more. Yields going to 3% in late 2018 crashed the market, and showed the world, once and for all, that Q. E. would be permanent and indefinite. Today, real yields are actually negative. This is forever. They can never go positive again, only more negative; because the economy is so leveraged, the debt so enormous, the budget so elaborate, that even a 1% yield on the ten-year would make it all come tumbling down. Negative real yields make treasuries undesirable to foreign investors, which means monetizing the debt, which means inflation, which means even deeper negative real yields, which means treasuries which are even more undesirable, ad infinitum, until the debt trap brings the whole system down.

Again, we know that the COMEX may go bankrupt as early as next month, so little physical metal is there to back the billions of paper contracts. And you also have to appreciate how bad the real economy is now. 40% real unemployment. You can never remedy that. Q. E. only makes things worse, because it prevents bad companies from going out of business and mal-investment from being cleared away. It diverts wealth into the hands of the few people who already own assets, and prevents anybody under the age of 40 from buying a house. Q. E. is the reason why the economy has been getting worse, year after year after year. Helicopter money will be indefinite from now on in order to prevent a revolution, and all that inflation will go straight into the real economy.

You might want to look up the concept of normalcy bias because you are suffering from it.
All fiat goes to zero eventually. Maybe it happens this time maybe next time but it will happen.
Beyond that they are going to push for a digital currency sooner or later and when they do what better way to drive support for it than by backing it in gold/silver.
You could always remove that backing later like they did with the dollar but the use of the metals will give immediate legitimacy and weight to the digital currency.
Even if fiat does not fuck itself this time they may decide to get ahead of the eventual collapse and roll out an all digital or digital/pm hybrid system regardless .
China is already testing the digital RMB

This, you don't need to be a conspiracy theorist to see this collapse coming, it was brewing since 1980. Question is, is it going to be rapid, or will it take the next 15 years? One way or another, Fiat has ruined us and they might as well print all they want now, it doesn't matter anymore, kick the can and let the next President take the beating. I genuinely think Trump knows this and tried to do something, but they just united against him to buy more time for the (((Elite))) to secure the only real assets.
Also, funny how all the rich can get these attractive loans, but the middle-class is still cucked with a higher percentage. No way to chase them, they just cannibalize the entire Fiat System and buy more. Houses will fucking skyrocket, everyone will be renting.

Sorry, that isn't going to work. To inflate the debt away you would need to push real yields down to -20%, -30%, or God knows what number. There wouldn't be a man alive who would buy a bond at that rate. You would have to print not merely tens of trillions, but hundreds of trillions. At what point is confidence in the dollar completely lost? Another point, how much larger do you think these asset-bubbles can possibly go? Stocks are already at the highest P. We had two bear markets in gold and silver after nixon removed the gold standard. The first happened in 1980 to 2001. It ouccred becauase Paul Volcker increased rates to 20%. The second occurred from 2011 to today. The FED said they would increase interest rates but never actually did. The FED already announced that they won't increase interest rates until 2023, so we have a guaranteed bull market until then. When the FED doesn't increase interest rates after 2023, foreign creditors won't buy U.S Treasuries and keep interest rates down through inflation, causing gold and silver to go to infinite.

No matter how much inflation the bankers cause, at some point they have to reverse course and let yields go up. You can't just print money forever. If the consequences of twenty years of money-printing, from aftermath of the Dotcom Bubble to the present day, are 1) The highest P. E. ratios in history in stocks, 2) The greatest wealth disparity in history, 3) 40% real unemployment, and 4) Unaffordable house prices for anybody under the age of 40, what do you think the economy will look like after they print another ten trillion? Another twenty trillion? The more they print, the worse the aftermath will be when yields finally do go up, because everything has to crash from even greater height. But what you are not considering also is that the rest of the world will dump the dollar if inflation goes too high. It has already been dumping treasuries, and buying gold, since 2008. Why would anybody hold the dollar as a reserve currency if it is losing almost all its purchasing power to inflation? There would be a rush out of the dollar and into gold, and all those dollars would rush right back into America to chase goods and services. That would be hyperinflationary. And without having the dollar as the world reserve currency, America would be finished.

Anyone else not trust the 1 oz gold bars that are sealed in packaging?

I read a horror story of an old guy who would buy gold bars at the same lcs for decades, then one day his wife needed surgery so he tried to sell one, it ended up being fake, then he tried to sell the rest and they all ended up being fake. And the wife died.

There's even been reports of the fake bars getting mixed in with the big dealers..

For gold I actually prefer jewelry and issued coins becauae they're much harder to fake.

I'm willing to bet that at least one poster here unknowingly has a fake gold bar.
Ive seen 1:1 good quality fakes being sold on the dark web, the outside is real gold but it has a tungsten core so it very closesly mimics the legit weight and dimensions.
Not many people are willing to drill a hole through their sealed bars.

Never have, never will. On a weird but semi-related note I received a mock package claiming to be from an Amazon Distribution Center in Las Vegas a bit ago. It was addressed to me but contained a CoverGirl makeup kit. Figured my wife ordered it but nope, nor her family or anyone we know. Still wouldn't explain why addressed to me.

Long story short, first instinct was "well do you want it babe" and caught myself. Threw the thing out. Then started researching the name "Hechen" who was apparent sender. No Amazon store, no CoverGirl relationship, no company in Nevada, then searched nationwide... no results.

While searching, found two eye opening tidbits. In Spanish context, hechen implies: them down, removed, take, go, turned. Hechen is also a town in China where all this virus stuff "supposedly" originated.

But no company named Hechen anywhere that I could find. And information brokering used to be my jam. I looked high and low.

If it's what I think it was, I give props to the attempt. I can see how some unsuspecting husband would just give it to his wife and she would succumb to some illness or radioactive isotopes. Not paranoid, just not stupid either.

Gold rallies track really well with real rates. Gold does fuck all while rates are high and goes gangbusters when rates are negative. The last gold bull run was where we had negative rates and the run in the 70s was mild too. Gold went from $100 to $800 in 3 years during the moderately negative rates in the 70s. In the 40s/50s gold was not freely traded in the US in dollars. It was a fixed price and illegal for Americans to hold outside certain contexts. So we didn't get to see what gold did during those very sharp negative rate years. But I have a feeling we will this time over the next few years. How am I planning to try to profit? Hold physical gold and miner stocks and hopefully society doesn't break down so that the inflation will eat my mortgage away for me. I'm sure smarter anons have better plans.

This has already happened, I think this was a 1970s thing of people selling their sterling silverware and coins after they went off the gold standard, most normies don't even know what silver is these days, many of these were purchased at garage and estate sales for a few bucks.

>>21316268
Of course they are all sterling, I have been doing this for a while now and have developed what they call an "eye" for PMs, I can identify gold and silver from looking at it quickly,
The only times this can be confused is with some really good silver plated wares or gold filled jewelry which has real gold on the outside layer.

I also have a acid testing kit which i use extensively, most things are stamped / marked though they are just hard to find sometimes

Interestingly, for all you wanting a gold standard.. Whatever its effects on the money supply in the United States, the gold standard unquestionably played a role in the spread of the Great Depression outside America. As the United States experienced declining output and deflation, it tended to run a trade surplus with other countries because Americans were buying fewer imported goods, while American exports were relatively cheap. Such imbalances gave rise to significant foreign gold outflows to the United States, which in turn threatened to devalue the currencies of the countries whose gold reserves had been depleted. Accordingly, foreign central banks attempted to counteract the trade imbalance by raising their interest rates, which had the effect of reducing output and prices and increasing unemployment in their countries. The resulting international economic decline, especially in Europe, was nearly as bad as that in the United States.

Yeah, there are going to be some real consequences from it, but that's what is in the pipeline. We don't have to like it, but we should prepare for it. There are definitely going to be people who benefit from it and those who suffer. I'm trying to make sure I'm in with the former.

Also, the US manufacturing is denigrated too much. We actually have the capacity to produce quite a bit and if push came to shove, we could retool and get back on our feet. We are also a net exporter of food and energy, so we have the capacity get through this. However, it's going to suck for some far more than others.

The simpler the method the more prone it will be to counterfeiting.

Arguably the simplest is to only buy coins that have visible anti-counterfeit features, or are very difficult to counterfeit. 2016+ canadian maples are generally considered the best option for this. fakebullion.com has examples of known counterfeits, but is never going to be exhaustive. Very good fakes can defeat this test, but the newer the coins you buy the less likely you are going to be buying a fake (if you only buy 2020 for example).

The second simplest is to use a caliper measure plus a highly accurate scale to compare the actual dimensions/weight to the official specs. If the coins weights+dimensions don't match, then the metal content is probably not what it should be. You can also do a water-displacement volume measurement + weight to calculate the expected vs. actual mass. Very good fakes can defeat this test.

Acid test kits can be easily done at home, but fakes typically have pure metal cladding on the outside, so depending on the thickness of the cladding acid testing won't necessarily identify a fake. Very good fakes can defeat this test.

The other way is to buy an electronic testing scanner which measures the conductivity of the metal versus what it should be for different purities. As far as I am aware, fakes won't be able to defeat this test.

If its sealed in the packaging and not blatantly magnetic then not really, buying from trusted sources lowers the risk, but like I said there was a fiasco a few years ago of fake bars being mixed into some batches from JM bullion.

If there bar is unpacked you can weigh it and measure the dimensions and compare the standard bar,

The best is the spectography machines that the dealers use which can analyze the inside.

Also gold acid test could pick out gold plated bars but not the 1:1 tungsten filled ones, tungsten very closely mimics the density of gold so that's why its used and its not magnetic.

I actually kind of cringe at the lazy boomers who just buy some sealed gold bar and refuse to open it to inspect it so they don't "lower the value", nigger the value is the metal nobody cares that a bullion oz has a scratch on it if it weighs the same.

Pic related is the first results on aliexpress,

I'm just saying to be careful with sealed bars, some even come with fully sealed hard plastic that arent meant to be opened, imo this helps fakers discourage people from inspecting the bars closely

Sorry, I don't mean to blow you off. Just busy at work today.

Gold prices tend to spike when there are serious economic, financial, and geopolitical risks in the global economy - obviously. During the global financial crisis, even the safety of bank deposits and government bonds was in doubt for some investors. If you worry about financial Armageddon, it is indeed metaphorically the time to stock your bunker with guns, ammunition, canned food, and gold bars. Like we are doing now.

But, even in that dire scenario, gold might be a poor investment. Indeed, at the peak of the global financial crisis in 2008 and 2009, gold prices fell sharply a few times. In an extreme credit crunch, leveraged purchases of gold cause forced sales, because any price correction triggers margin calls. As a result, gold can be very volatile - upward and downward - at the peak of a crisis.

Gold performs best when there is a risk of high inflation, as its popularity as a store of value increases. But, despite very aggressive monetary policy by many central banks - successive rounds of “quantitative easing” that doubled, or even tripled, the money supply in most advanced economies - global inflation is didn't rise to catastrophic levels. While base money was soaring, the velocity of money collapsed, with banks hoarding the liquidity in the form of excess reserves. Ongoing private and public debt deleveraging kept global demand growth below that of supply.

CONT'D

So unlike other assets, gold does not provide any income. Whereas equities have dividends, bonds have coupons, and homes provide rents, gold is solely a play on capital appreciation. When the global economy began recovering, other assets - equities or even revived real estate - thus provide higher returns so people left gold. US and global equities have vastly outperformed gold since the sharp rise in gold prices in early 2009.

Gold prices rose sharply when real (inflation-adjusted) interest rates became increasingly negative after successive rounds of quantitative easing. The time to buy gold is when the real returns on cash and bonds are negative and falling. But the more positive outlook about the U.S. and the global economy implied that over time the Federal Reserve and other central banks will exit from quantitative easing and zero policy rates, which means that real rates would rise, rather than fall. They did a bit, but we kept them low and here we are now, but that doesn't mean the Fed can't just keep them low despite what people say here.

Because it was obviously Germany's fault that the Soviet Union had literal millions of bodies to throw around carelessly
while the United States was bailing said USSR out with about tens of billions of dollars, weaponry & vehicles, etc
while all the German supply lines are being bombed leaving large numbers of the POWs (and citizens alike) suffer and starve...
Try looking around the 1936-1940 range... You'll find that the anon is completely right and they were basically ideal societies.

German society was so far advanced beyond the rest of the world that the entire post-war order was copied from NatSoc Germany. Everything from the education system to rocketry were taken as part of the plunder. The only "creativity" that was stamped out was the perversion of kike sociologists creating all sorts of sexual nonsense.

The notion that Germany was some oppressive hellhole comparable to the USSR or communist China is literal fiction created for propaganda purposes.
