Regulators aren't needed here. These are people just like you and I. They aren't Gods in any sense of the word. They can influence public affairs but cannot command it without revolt. HSBC and Scotiabank already dropped out willingly last few months. JPM is the last game in town and from inventory we saw last month's ~28mil ounce xfer from eligible to registered. We know they only have ~122mil oz left on a 650mil oz exchange to physical month. They are done.

>> No.21270946

Use a site like this for your price estimations going-forward. Pass it along.

https://findbullionprices.com/closest-to-spot/

COMEX spot prices will continue to fall as their institution fails and bows out. At some point it will reach $0 for paper holders. The evidence of COMEX falling apart is the lowering of spot price, evidenced by people exiting paper positions and JPM gaming whatever system they think they have left. Don't worry about it anymore, as September 1 approaches, expect dramatic dips.

You can, however, use this to your advantage if buying physical locally and the dealer is still relying on that price as their starting point. Supply is short though, so don't wait too long.

That implies that the market suddenly noticed what's going. That's something you couldn't see AT ALL the last few weeks given that surge in the chart(could have been short covering but still). I don't know what your portfolio looks like, but if you are physically holding then go celebrate by having a drink or night out on the town. You are weeks away from realizing truths that most do not know today. You are ahead of the way. The prices they are showing you (spiraling downward) is the shift away from THEIR institutions. It's GREAT for you, not the other way around.

I wish I could drop a single picture of my mind's knowledge of economics and markets that made sense to everyone. Trust me when I say asset classes are limited and everyone is backed into a corner with only one way out. That way out is physical, there is literally NO OTHER WAY. I can't think of a single time in my life that everything was so evident and clear. I'd say 100% certainty at this point that the world as we know it is about to change, especially for physical holders. Future generations will thank you for your decisions today.

I mean sure its dropping significantly for the time being but we are still significantly up on the month. Theres nothing preventing the same growth from happening again.

I did buy 10 oz. silver at the peak of the bubble but considering most of my silver both possesses numismatic value and was purchased in 2003, I dont really give a fuck.

In the end we can HOLD for a month or HOLD for a year but we will win if we are patient.

The market has noticed, what are you implying? That there isn't a shortage of physical?

The COMEX spot price is exactly that. The price people are willing to pay for a COMEX contract ounce. When people lose faith in COMEX, that price lowers as people sell, in the hopes that buyers come along and take it from them. It's basic free market dynamics in play here. Everyone, and I mean everyone in the markets, which implies everyone with more than $1b in holdings is aware of the COMEX default. They are selling, prices are lowering because nobody is buying. As more and more institutions sell, the price will continue to go down. It's just like any company stock about to go belly up. It doesn't RISE. It lowers.

There's a paradigm shift that's about to happen involving the pricing model. Today it relies on COMEX, in the near-term future it will not.

When JM Bullion is (or at least was last week) buying metals at ABOVE the COMEX spot price, that should speak volumes about the JP Morgan/COMEX market. Why wouldn't JPM just sell directly to JM and arbitrage the $1 difference? Because they don't have the inventory and can't.

SILJ has dropped farther than this before. From 1 June to 18 June it crashed 18%, before soaring. As it stands, we're only down 13.5% from the latest peak. SILJ is also lower than it was when silver was $18. I think that we are hitting a bottom in SILJ. Physical silver isn't dropping right now either. People who are really getting wiped out at the moment are the people who bought SLV, or options on SLV. I am sorry to say that they have no comfort, because they must know that the stock is getting delisted and going to zero next month. We tried to warn them, and, unfortunately, they didn't heed our warnings.

Comex price is the price for a delivery contract which is obviously not the same as physical metal as you have an additional layer in between(with additional risk and so on). Yes, I'd say that but that's not my argument here.
If I understand you right you're claiming that the drop today is mostly caused by dwindling trust into comex( and the backing of the contracts).
If that were true I'd have to assume that the paper market got briefed today on this issue because there wasn't any sign of mistrust the last few weeks( green, green and more green). Why today? Why so suddenly after such a surge? There is no official statement about a default or anything like that.
I would have expected this issue to reflect itself only gradually in the spot price chart.

Agreed. It's tough to see where JPM is going to come up with 528,000,000 ounces of silver to cover on September 1. I have gamed out many scenarios and came to the conclusion that I believe JPM is going to be left holding the bag as a scapegoat for the next big financial bombshell/affect on global markets. They are an easy scapegoat because they are the last of the big 3 metal custodians to fall. HSBC last month, Scotiabank in April, which leaves JP Morgan. Another confirmation is when I heard the inside scoop about Morgan Stanley holding upwards of 500-600 million ounces of silver in a private stash not for sale. Then on the last call they anounced a long position for both gold and silver. I can't recall exactly but I feel like it was $2350 and $100. So who's going to loan JPM the silver? Certainly not them. Who's left? There aren't many? Where does JPM as the supposed "seller" end up BUYING when they need to cover their sales? The math never works out, which is why they are done for. I wouldn't be surprised if we see many radical exits as the contract price plummets to $0. They will short off any remaining contracts and take whatever profits they have left.

I'm guessing this will all happen SOONER rather than later, because don't forget they still have about 122,000,000 ounces of silver in "eligible" inventory. The sooner they get "too big" of a delivery (which has already occurred) the sooner they default to Force Majeure and pay contract holders in USD instead. That'll leave them sitting on an unregistered but eligible private stash of 122,000,000 ounces that will rocket in value. The alternative is they continue to short down the price, but at some point those profits will not be as much upside as just defaulting sooner. It's going to happen, guaranteed!

are you even paying attention? JPM can't just pull all its physical from comex even if it wanted to. they trade far above the normal contract limit BECAUSE they have physical locked up, and they can say "hey we're not manipulating the market we're JuSt HeDgInG".

Correction, in the history of the known world. At least for common men (and women). I have studied a lot on the subject, and never has there been a more obvious time that a transfer of global wealth is occurring and by what means. Generally you know it's happening but aren't in a position to reap the upside. This time is different. This will make lots of people infinitely richer as other country fiats are destroyed in time. Think of the US Debt Calculator which last I saw had ~$4100 in circulation for every 1 oz of silver. That'll be the first jump in value, the next one will be whatever country falls next. However much they pumped into their fiat vs. metals will correct back into the metals. And so on, and so forth, for the foreseeable future, infinitely through practically every country on Earth. You are on the verge of never being a wage slave again.

A lot of factors contributed to recent performance into the green. One being that most boomers still believe the hype about GLD and SLV. When they see gold or silver rising on TV, they call their brokers and execute a trade. They aren't going down the street to buy physical.

The sudden institutional dropout from COMEX is because they were waiting to see how the public reacted to the impending September news. Don't forget, there's money to be made (for them) even in a crash. I don't play that game but they squeeze whatever they can, whenever they can. There has been a phenomenal shift in awareness in just one week about the COMEX September troubles. (They) figured that out and are now repositioning as they should.

Then in the background, picture whoever is responsible for metals at JPM having a literal freakout and realizing they will be left holding the bag as their calls go unanswered by the powers that be who could ultimately "lend" metals to them to cover delivery positions. Their trading desk likely doesn't have a concise strategy anymore amidst all the chaos, so day by day they are floundering their strategy to see which approach will net them the most positive return... all the while knowing the collapse is here.

I know this anon. I was using it as a market analysis common-sense analogy. I realize they can't sell directly to JM. But the point is, if JM is buying at a higher price than what COMEX says it's worth, then something is off. I doubt it's on the buyer side.

You do realize there is only one player left in the COMEX game right? COMEX is literally JPM and only JPM. So to correct your point, COMEX does not have the physical. London might be able to lend to them, but again... why would they when it puts London at greater risk of default? This is a big game of hot potato, just be glad you're not in it. Keep in mind, if you are at all into currencies, central banks worldwide are quite literally collapsing as I type this. We like to focus on the Fed, but almost every country has at least one of their biggest banks in crisis. Haven't you noticed there are no more home equity loans? Everyone is contracting to mitigate risk.

What do you guys think about the more trustworthy physical ETFs. Let's say I believe they really have the metals from the end of the last contract and only the current difference is in contracts. What will happen to them if COMEX really goes belly up? Is this basically in the hands of the ETF managers on how exactly to handle this?

Also can somebody please recommend me the best miner ETFs? Would be super nice if they have currency hedges available. EUR is fine, but would prefer CHF.

AFAIK Shares in physically backed ETFs aren't locked to COMEX prices by any strict requirement - they are simply traded on the open market and it is up to market forces to keep them in line with COMEX based on the notional value of the holdings. The only difference is when the ETFs are expanding and buying more metal to sell more shares - that has traditionally been done approximately based on exchange pricing because that is the price at which the ETF can add more metal to its holdings and therefore the price it can sell new shares at.

If the COMEX actually implodes, those ETFs are going to go through a wild ride of price finding just like other bullion markets.

It figures it’d be something like this. I placed an order for 21 2oz Mercury Dime Ultra High Relief Rounds last night at 29.09. I was sadly mistaken that these were not struck by the US Mint, but Intaglio Mint. Said fuck it, I’ll cancel in the morning. Then this. I don’t want to call and cancel and look like a moron - they’d think I’m trying to pull out due to the dip. When in reality, I’m pissed because it wasn’t clear where these were minted and thought they were struck in West Point or Philly. Wat do. I can eat the difference, pay the market loss calculation and cancellation fee.

They have 500 paper ounces for every real ounce in SLV, so they can dump the spot price to whatever they want. See >>21273556 for the kind of absurd volumes we are dealing with here. The point is that the silver COMEX deliveries are happening next month, and that they will have to deliver hundreds of thousands of real ounces. We don't even mine 100,000 ounces for investment per annum, and there are no stockpiles for them to get them from. They are finished.

I see, JPM is the ONLY gold custodian for cme. interesting.
how does this change JPM's _obligation_ to deliver their physical? I mean, we watched it happen in June, right? they were forced to deliver millions of silver.
are you saying they will just up and decide no we don't do that anymore? i'm under the impression that JPM's choices are as follows:
1) do nothing as delivery demand increases, watch as stack is obligated to be delivered, price goes up while holdings go down - NET LOSS FOR JPM
2) try and sell off the rally and further control the market. this could happen, but i am leaning against this possibility as there are open probes into JPM metal manipulation, and we're already breaking out.
3) flip long on silver. cut the bs shorting, hold/acquire physical, and pump it. each $1 rise = million+ of profit for them. they can buy physical at the same rate they are obligated to deliver it.
this is a very simplified view, this is true. but wouldn't it stand that 3 is the path of least resistance with most profit potential while simultaneously avoiding bad-boy manipulation behavior?
good discussion either way anon I sincerely hope we make it :)

You are correct, #3 is my guess too. They are in a bit of a squeeze on gold as well, last I heard somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.2 million ounces are due to be delivered, which equates to a potential $6 billion liability for them - assuming they deliver any physical whatsoever.

I'm guessing the most profitable to them will be default, since in that scenario they will be able to spend their existing soon-to-be-worthless USD reserves... which is something they would have had to do at some point in the future anyhow. This is a way to kill two birds with one stone and still hold valuable metals they can ride the wave with.

J. P. Morgan is the custodian of SLV; if you understand that they have been manipulating the silver-market for ten years, and that the delivery-system on the COMEX is a fraud built on sand, their credibility should be gone for you. The video mostly concerns the COMEX shorting, but he alludes to the spoofing and manipulation tactics they use on SLV, along with Chris Marcus's interview with Bart Chilton before Chilton died, who confirmed this. About SLV more specifically, Chris Marcus interviewed dozens of insiders for his book "The Big Silver Short" and he never got an answer lower than 500 for the paper ounce:real ounce ratio in SLV. The inflows are simply impossible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egD6yjimNno

The respected guys generally don't get into SLV conspiracies other than saying "it's possible that a decent portion of their bars are owned by other people and leased to JPM/whoever they "bought" them from". No one believes that SLV is 50% backed by paper or anything, but even the german central bank didn't get the same bars back from NY that they originally deposited there

If the "it" you mention is COMEX spot, I'd say slim to none. Each day we approach September the squeeze will get tighter as institutions adjust their positions.

If the "it" you mention is physical, its value has maintained and/or increased.

i can understand the manipulation, what i do not understand is why SLV would "crash and burn" or "go to zero" if this manipulation stopped.
surely it would undergo price discovery resulting in upward movement closer to the true value of silver, no?

Ok thanks for the explanation. At least the the ones I'm interested in, are basically stating that they are dealing with the LBMA OTC marked and prices are calculated once a day by the LBMA price. They are also talking about counter party securities in OTC derivates deals in bonds and stonks. So I'm not really sure that this should worry me, but I supposed this is just for the time between orders and the actual delivery.

The price finding will certainly be a bad time, but the same would happen with physical as well. It's just pretty inconvenient to buy and sell physical with all the premiums and on silver I haven have to pay VAT of 7%. So I'm thinking of a mixed strategy.

this isn't uncommon though, precious metals should be entirely fungible just like Monero. I don't need the exact asset I deposited because 1oz fine silver is 1oz fine silver any way you stamp it.

Once people realize that SLV doesn't have a 1:1 correspondence of real ounces to paper ounces, it has no value. It will go to zero for the same reason that COMEX futures will go to zero. A derivative only has value if people believe that it actually derives from something.

you are operating under the false binary that a derivative needs to track 1:1 without any slippage. in reality, it will undergo price discovery, not go to 0.

I would actually say the opposite. Negative interest rates means the dollar and Treasuries will be losing value. Dollar denominated assets will not only increase, but capital will flock to it to escape the inflation and it won't be able to find safe haven. Fixed income will get fucked. Pensions will get fucked. But stocks, real estate, and metals will moon. They will be where capital escapes too out of the dollar. I mean, whether their is another crash or not, I don't know, but with YCC and no inflation target, assets are going way up as the dollar goes down.

ishares would probably redeem their shares for whatever they could squeeze out of JPM if that did happen. The credibility would be destroyed and someone (Sprott) would pounce on them. In this situation they suddenly have a decreased number of bars/share in the fund. Sure the bars left would be worth more (assuming they weren't locked up in court proceedings) but no one would recommend it to people. Just like how arthur anderson rebranded their consultancy after enron.

To be fair, I don't speculate nor follow mining indexes much. Think of it this way, if the company you are investing in has (or has the means to have) physical metals acquired at below market value, then putting stock in that company (or those companies) will likely appreciate at a rate comparable to the metals by which they hold. But companies are complicated beasts and there is an element of trust you put into them by giving them your money. Corruption happens all the time, just do your research and play safe.
