So guys, I hope we all realize by now that this is the next LINK and that all the FUD on 4chan is deliberate so the prices goes lower. This coin is the gem of the market and buying RLC@1.4$ is like buying LINK@30c. If you actually read the RLC FUD you'll see that it's only crap arguments and repeated arguments with 0 evidence to support anything.

This literal fucking gem has all the partnerships a project could wish for. I'm an old fag and I've been here since LINK was 30c, RLC has the exact same vibes than LINK had at 30c. Everyone hated on LINK, because they wanted to buy it for cheap and accumulate.

This is our time brothers, we accumulate now, we buy now! Buy all the dips, every time. The more they FUD it, the more you buy. FUD is great for you, since you want to buy more. If this went parabolical and you didn't get at least 5000 barrels you'd be sad. So be happy that the price isn't high yet.

IExec isn't going anywhere because the framework is faulty.
When you compile your Java code to JavaScript it provokes a memory overflow in the container that leaks the booleans to the DNS, that's a big no for any Dapp.

I exactly agree my brother. The only problem with iExec RLC is adoption. The project in itself is too complicated for normal fags to understand. For instance... Every doracle project is getting pumped like crazy, why isn't RLC you may ask? Because they do not advertise as a doracle project, people don't even know this is an option and people are so fucking retarded that if you don't sell only 1 thing to them the get confused. RLC is sooo much more than just an doracle. It can do decentralized cloud computing with CPU and GPU, it can do doracles, it can tokenize cloud resources (datasets, computing power... Imagine using a super valuable AI dataset on fucking Compound or Aave to borrow ETH. AMAZING), it's basicly a scalability solution for everything since it takes everything off-chain and only verifies it TWICE (once on the RLC chain, the second time on the ETH chain).

If you wanted to make a chess dapp which let's you play with a AI controlled player this wouldn't be possible on ETH. Why? Because ETH has 16 god damn fucking transactions... Do you even realize how many calculations are involved in a AI algorithm? So this is how it works out. You can make a dapp on ETH where you can play chess with a AI, yes. But ETH only purpose here would be that ETH would move a figure from one spot to the other. ETH is capable of doing this. But the hearth of the computation, the AI part would be pushed off-chain to iExec RLC and computed there, then the result of the computation would be pushed back onto the ETH chain and ETH would then move the figure. Sounds fucking sweet doesn't it?

I agree with this and if you read my comments you would notice I already said this. Thank you for not reading a single thing anyone said.

Decentralization of the cloud is A MUST. Why? Because big data center maintenance is costing a shit load. How much does the maintenance of your computer? It costs exactly 0. Your computer doesn't use up 100% of your CPU/GPU that's why running a RLC node is always viable, because you can make money while browsing your favorite animal porn site.

You got me on the worker pools, yes they aren't running, because ofcourse NO ADOPTION, which is the MAIN PROBLEM WHICH ISN'T EVEN A PROBLEM... Why isn't it a problem? Because imagine the price after a little adoption... See my point?
>>21265914
AGAIN, if you stupid fucks read the comments you'd already see that I'm a programmer so I'm the IT sector. I am an IT anon and I'm laughing at people like you. Other IT anons at my work are all over this shit and are buying the gem. They see that data centers are expensive to run and that running a decentralized cloud is cheaper and more competitive than running a data center. Why? Because the data center cost a lot and that cost is priced into the price of the computing power. On RLC you only pay for the computing power itself, NOT THE FUCKING DATA CENTER MAINTENANCE. So now please explain how running hundreds of data centers all around the world is cheaper than having a lot of personal computers connected to a decentralized cloud that provide their computing power for 0 maintenance cost?
>>21266036

Also on the "RLC isn't cheaper" part. Do you even know how much a single data center costs to run? I mean do you even know how data center for instance destroy hard disk drives? The take a faulty hard disk drive (and imagine this, this is all done by people who need to get paid for the shit i'll write), the punch a hole threw the drive with a big ass fucking pneumatic hammer that weighs a few tons, after that they take the HDD and shred it into a billion pieces, after that they take the HDD and fucking burn it to ashes and after that they take the ashes and throw them away (and maybe this isn't even the full process, this are just the steps that I KNOW they take). Imagine how costly this is. What do you do with a faulty drive? You take it out for 0 cost, you go out of your shithut for 0 cost, you go up to your trash can for 0 cost, you throw the disk drive and throw it in the trash can for 0 cost. What the fuck are you even on about you fuck? How is this more expensive than AWS? HOW????? Also data centers require tons of people, tons of cooling, tons of expert knowledge, tons of upkeep and the list goes on. Do you imagine how hard it is to do the electrical wiring for these big ass fucking data centers? Are you a fucking retard? Do you imagine how much security is needed to keep the data centers safe, facial recognition, ID checks, iris recognition, fingerprint recognition, ... How many security guards are guarding your computer (your mom and dog don't count)?

These blockchain IaaS projects all remind me of Siacoin (SC) which is/was great in theory, but totally impractical for Enterprise use because of the IP/copyright issue. There's no compliant way to decentralize data storage on a large scale. Companies can't afford to commingle with data that can expose them to risk. I'd like to hear how RLC is going to solve this kind of problem. You can already reserve spot instances in AWS data centers for pennies on the dollar. What exactly is being delivered? Tokens for what exactly? Serious question.

It's not made onchain, only the matching is done onchain (actually sidechain in the future).
The computations are done offchain by participants, iexec distributes the work through a schedule the uses a consensus method to verify the validity of results.
Iexec itself supports all languages.

It's not very complicated conceptually at the end of the day, it's a marketplace which can provided highly trusted offchain computations that are too expensive to do onchain.

If I give you 2 options as a freelance developer

A) You pay 100$ to execute a program
B) You pay 1$ to execute a program

What option do you take? Why do you think anyone will care about anything if the other option is a few times cheaper? Google can always redirect their computing power to iExec.

But yes, I 100% agree that this is a long shot, since moving infrastructure is a massive undertaking. I'm not denying this FACT, but all I'm saying is that if something is 5x cheaper they'll be heavily considering it. And when 1 big company starts using it, the other companies will be pushed out of the market, since the first company will be providing cloud power for MUCH CHEAPER. And also, think about this. If you see it being 5x cheaper you'll be like "Hmmm, maybe if we use this before the other cloud providers we'll get more customers and start pushing others out. Maybe we should start using this before others do".

Do you see the mentality behind it? If it's cheaper, why not use it?

Since your a programmer, you surely understand things about the cloud space and why iExec or decentralized compute on spare pcs is a very, very small niche market.

1) No ability to verify in-deterministic programs (AI training, etc. etc.). Worker reputation scores are a miserable way to do this, no company would outsource important business logic to a server they can't be sure isn't cheating or the time & resources required to fault-check are higher than whatever savings you get through spare-compute.

2) No GDPR compliance and no SLAs. Yep this already precludes 90% of enterprise workloads

3) Shit-tier latency and bandwidth. Data-centers are literally built to have high extremely connectivety, no company will host a real-time service (website / etc) on manjeets basement raspberry Pi.

4) Google and AWS already offer "spot" instances, which use the spare compute and are much cheaper than dedicated instances. They have no need to participate in the iexec marketplace as suppliers. They could, but there is no incentive for them do it and there is no incentive for customers to use iexec instead of being comfy in using AWS or Google spot instances with all the controls that literally billions of dollars for armies of developers & decades of development have created

5) There is no need for everything (deals etc.) to run in smart contracts. Is ridiciuosly expensive and iexec is trying to get rid of this by building (centralized) side-chains. But then again who cares, why do I as a developer care if my deal with the cloud company or worker node is recorded on the blockchain. Token literally not needed.

>> No.21268742

>>21268103

6) The scope of iExec vs. their development power is way way to low. They try to do everything but fail because they don't have the manpower and others excel in the various niches (rendering (RNDR), AI, datarenting (Ocean, etc.), storage, oracles, etc. etc.). They have only developed very basic proof-of-concepts for all of these things. Literally meme dApps. No-one would choose to use this, if they could also use a full-fledged product developed by the competition.

7) Grid computing is a old concept which has only worked for donating free compute so far (BOINC). Slapping a token ontop of it isn't exactly revolutionary and actually makes everything worse by introducing a volatile, illiquid shit-token (not obtainable in the US) that creates a huuge accounting & legal barrier for companies for extremely litttle, or no, benefit.

Damn guys, this was probably the most constructive thread in the last month we had. I'm really proud of you all.

And we've established what the main problem of RLC is... ADOPTION, it has none, we can all agree, but I believe that due to it being cheaper it'll get the adoption it deserves. This people are working their fucking asses of to get this adopted. And I do believe that their technical partners are highly considering this solution. Why? Because god dammit, why would Intel, Alibaba, Ubisoft, IBM share their knowledge and man power with them for 0 gains? Why the fuck would anyone do that, except if they're friends? But lets be realistic, companies aren't friends, they do things for profit and gains and technical superiority. They all want this, because if they didn't they wouldn't put 1 single cent into this shit, but they did. And they're inviting iExec RLC to talk at their conventions about their ALREADY WORKING PRODUCT. They're trying to help them get out their in the market and are willing to finance this and help them.

This project is hands down amazing and it deserves to be a top 10 project.

There was no appetite from moving away self hosted databases and servers 15 years ago in big businesses because what they had was working.
The first users of AWS were startups who realized upscaling or downscaling in few clicks was useful and that it was ultimately cutting costs for them.

If you have an AI startup and can train your models for a third of the price thanks to some chink GPU farm rented on iexec you will go for it, especially as you don't have to worry with your datas leaking with enclaves.
Even more if you run a Dapp because you can divide by a factor 10^6 the price of running most of it offchain while only having a marginally less secure execution.

Ethereum was marketed as the "world computer" but it isn't (unless you consider a 1989 gameboy a "computer"), it will be the world notary. The only way it can bring true massive decentralized application is with trustable offchain computing and there is only one project that convincingly does that.

Also they said recently they went "next level" in terms of cooperation with iexec, my guess is that Intel is feeling the pressure of custom chips and ARM massively arriving on the server market in the next 5 years and they want the preferential treatment in iExec/Avalon implementation.

. Other crypto projects need off-chain computing and RLC is the only one that does it right...

1) You can't cheat on a blockchain (except if 51% attacks), ETH already makes sure of this, since RLC is a 2nd layer thing and the security is provided by the 1st layer which is ETH.

2) What GDPR and SLA compliance? wtf, you just buy more power if you need it done faster. It's already GDPR compliant in sense, since it's done in a TEE (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trusted_execution_environment))

3) As I already said earlier, if you want it done faster, you buy more computing power

4) This can never be cheaper than RLC, since data centers are expensive. And as I already mentioned before when you buy AWS power you also pay for the upkeep of the data center, instead of just paying for the raw computing power

5) Well, you were saying that shit about GDPR compliance. This part basicly solved that, if it's verified by the blockchain then it's legit and wasn't tempered with or abused by a 3rd entity, because everyone can see the smart contract and check it for code that is a "bad actor"

6) Can't argue much here. I can agree on this point. Yes, their scope is too big, their manpower too small. But if people start using it they'll hire more people and improve it of course. But you have to realize that he whole crypto sector is in it's infancy/adoption phase. This project is no exception !

7) Yes and no, the token itself provides the provides the trust we need that no one is tempering with the data and miss using it. That's why you need this token.

I hope I could at least answer some of your questions/concerns. But yes, I can agree on some of your points

I don't think you understand what a indeterministic program is - which is weird since you claim you are a programmer.

Take a simple random generator as the simlpest indeterminstic algorithm (not talking about provably fair rngs), how would you verify that the result the worker delivers is actually, truely random and not something the worker passes back to cheat the system. Its literally impossible to do this, and around 99% of all hard compute problems (e.g. all AI) are indertiministic.

Putting it on the blockchain thus solves nothing, so I don't think you understand iExec.

Also the results aren't on the blockchain (which would be hilariously expensive), so whatever you said about GDPR isn't true either.

3) lmao what? Just buy more compute power isn't going to solve latency or bandwidth.

Ok at this point I'm seriuosly doubting you have any more knowledge about computer science than doing an entry-level Javascript tutorial.

I'm not an academic, I hate academics. That's why the confusion. I can see that you're a academic and that your level of theoretical knowledge is far beyond mine. I just know how to program in like 15-20 programming languages, I'm not involved in a deep level on any of them. I have basic understandings of AI, robotics, multi-threading, web design, back-ends, mobile applications, ... I mostly worked in Go, VueJS, python, C#.

Now that you provided an example I do understand.
You're interested in "How do i know if this faggot is passing me random bullshit, instead of actually computing what I want?" The answer is rather simple. The worker actually doesn't know what it's computing for the client, it just knows what it has to do to get the actual result. That's how TEE works. The data is encrypted in a way that the worker can work on it, but it doesn't know what it's working on... I gave a link to the youtube channel of iExec a few posts above. I know there's a few videos where Gilles Fedak explains this. I cba to find it really, but if you make your own research you can check this is true.

The 3) point. ah sorry, I miss understood that. I have no clue in all honesty. And your point is valid and good. But I would argue since they're in this shit they've got that shit covered. Since your point is a big concern of course. And they probably wouldn't ignore it. And due to Gilles Fedak being a pioneer in cloud computing and distributed computing itself (you can check google schoolar for his research papers if you're interested. I recommend you do) he probably knows what he's doing. I can trust him at least that much

This point) Also the results aren't on the blockchain (which would be hilariously expensive), so whatever you said about GDPR isn't true either.

Yes they are. The result itself gets verified twice, as i already mentioned earlier. First by RLC, then ETH. The off-chain part isn't verified ofcourse, because as I explained earlier it's in a TEE

1) These blockchain IaaS projects all remind me of Siacoin (SC) which is/was great in theory, but totally impractical for Enterprise use because of the IP/copyright issue. There's no compliant way to decentralize data storage on a large scale.

I don't get what the problem here is. How do you mean no compliant way?

2) Companies can't afford to commingle with data that can expose them to risk

Everything is in a TEE which makes it impossible to read data from other people. You can work on the data, but you don't know what the fuck you're doing and what you're calculating

3) You can already reserve spot instances in AWS data centers for pennies on the dollar. What exactly is being delivered? Tokens for what exactly? Serious question.

As I already pointed out, when you buy at AWS you pay for their data center upkeep and everything that makes a data center run. RLC only charges you for the raw computing power itself and because it's a token on ETH the ETH blockchain provides the trustless enviroment you need in order for you to feel safe that people don't fuck with your data. Also TEE enclaves make it so that people who compute/work on your data don't know what the data represent or what they're computing and they can't temper it or send you false data back.

It is if you don't even know what the fuck a cloud is... And if you don't know hot decentralization actually works it's even harder.

For instance this guy was probably the smartest guy on this thread >>21268701 >>21268742

The most valid concern I've seen about current iexec is:
"If they want to be used by industry, they better get certified"
They have no certifications yet they're going for adoption. Governments? Big companies? You better have 2 or 3 types of certifications before they even look at you. Its a liability thing. I asked iexec last year and they didn't have any plans for certification. How can it be sustainable?

Look, we're going into a decentralized society. Big companies and the government are going to get decentralized sooner or later...

What do I mean by this?
You don't need politicians to run a country, you just need a fair voting system and a fair money distribution into projects that THE PEOPLE want. Governments are failing left, right and center. They're shit and obsolete, they need to fall and be replaced by a decentralized government which is controlled by the people for the people.
Same goes for companies... Don't like your boss? Is he a fucking retard who can't do shit right? Oh well, just convince your co-workers that you'll do a better job and convince them to vote you into the position as their boss. Show them that you'll threat them right and that you're the best person for the position.

Decentralization will be key to our society in the coming years. The above examples will of course take tens of years, yes. But it'll come, sooner then you realize it. We shall be a decentralized society, because people are feed up with the lies, idiocy and incompetence of our "leaders". They're tired and exhausted from all the shit. We just need to change something and decentralization is the change we all truly need and want. I know most people wouldn't agree on me with this, since they don't really think about it. But it is coming and you can't stop it

As you said, it's a liability thing. But that only matters in a centralized society where no one can trust each other. In a decentralized society everyone can trust each other (that's why DEXes, decentralized storage, doracles,.. work), because the blockchain is the trust layer which guarantees the trust that people want and need in order to function together as a society without killing each other in the process because of greed and hate.

Also ARPA doesn't have any of the great partneships RLC has (Intel, Alibaba, IBM, Ubisoft (this one is kinda crap lol), EDF, EEA (Ethereum Enterprise Alliance), Fortanix, CCC (Confidential Computing Consortium, look this one up), ...

I'd argue that RLC is on another level

This will always be profitable for anyone... Why? Because while you watch your favorite animal porn you don't use up 100% of your CPU and you don't use up a 100% of your GPU. If you use a virtual box instance you can even run multiple ones. My friend actually ran 4 virtual boxes (so 4 workers on 1 computer).
But I have to disappoint you that he pools haven't been working for months, since no one is using this fucking shit, as we pointed out in the above posts. It works yes, but doesn't have any real adoption. I've been in the worker pools from the start and the devs themselves posted tasks in order for people to test it out and I got a load of RLC from that and so did a few of my friends. It works perfectly fine, we just need to wait for adoption.

Yes, you bend the knee to a false government which doesn't take care of it's people and abuses it's power. Crypto is the new form of government which doesn't need humans in order to govern itself and society. Certificates are the past and need to be phased out and trust needs to be decentralised.

>>21289440

Well... If it isn't 500$ you still got time

>>21293235
A got stack is 5k+... A great stack is like 20k

>>21293393
Actually no... You need 100k and the price needs to be 100$. Or to put it in realistic perspective. If it had the same mcap as LINK right now, you'd need about 15k barrels to get to a million. realisticly you need 10-20k barrels to get to a million.

>>21293620
Well, if we get just a little adoption, 10-15k for a million is realistic. If we get LINK levels of adoption then maybe even less. I mean.... If Polkadot uses it as a parachain and it's successful and other people start to notice it could go huge. And if you google "Polkadot parachains", look at the images you'll se it is there. But it's just a question whether or not It'll be used from the start or included later...

Look at this if you haven't seen it yet (already posted this): https://forum.web3.foundation/t/teams-building-on-polkadot/67

>>21294360
I agree

>>21295220
Now let me read threw this so I can answer that guys question about "If it's homomorphic encryption or not". I believe it's not, since in the article it's separated... But first a cigarette, just woke up to find my thread on the 10th page and I saved it in time.

To answer you question I'll just copy this in:

Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) is a an encryption primitive that allows computations on the cipher-text without having to decrypt in first. So, in essence, it protects data in Data-In-Use state. Like AES Encryption protects data in its Data-At-Rest state and Data-In-Transit is protected by encrypted connections (HTTPS, SSL, TLS).
Homomorphic Encryption schemes for one single type of arithmetic operation (addition or multiplication) have been around for a very long time. However, the promise of Fully Homomorphic Encryption schemes (as opposed Partial Homomorphic Encryption) is the ability to perform arbitrary computations on encrypted data. This technology in essence can, Hide (from unauthorised party) and Reveal ( to authorised party) Sensitive Data Simultaneously. The Client-side (in a client-server architecture) can get storage, computation from the Server-side ( i.e. the storage, computation provider, like the cloud) without revealing the underlying, sensitive data to the Server-side.

A Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) is a simply a secure area inside a main processor. An isolated environment. created using using both special purpose hardware and software to protect data inside the TEE. In general, TEE provides a “trusted environment” inside which a compute can run while it is invisible to any other process on the processor, the operating system or any other privileged access. Unlike Homomorphic Encryption, computations inside the TEE are performed on the decrypted, clear-text data.

So the answer is NO, it's not a Homomorphic Encryption

Yes, swinging this around in general is a bad idea, except if there's a partnership announcement and it pumps for 20-50%. This happened multiple times (Intel, Alibaba, Ubisoft partneship pumps).
