I'd diversify like this:
80% BTC, 10% ETH, 5% RDD, 5% DGB

And even if I cash out, I would still leave as much as I can, and still with that sort of rate.
If you want more risky, then lower the percentage of BTC and go more for the others.

Hi I'm new there. I created a account on livecoin.net and want to buy some MNE but I don't have any Bitcoin so I want to get some BTC but I saw that 1 BTC cost ~1700€ and I'm very poor because my bank account only have 500€.
A long time ago, I heard that we can have Bitcoins if we let our computer calculating hardcore things for one day or more and I heard that the problem is that it cost a lot of electricity and the computer must have a fat hardware capacity.

So my question is :
Is it true that we can have some BTCs "for free" just from the computer calculating hardcore things, or there's no choice I'm forced to pay a big price (like ~1700€) for just 1 BTC ?

Now to mine bitcoins you need to get specialised expensive hardware.
You can still mine other coins though.
Go and find out a coin that just started, and mine it, hopefully it will be valuable in the future.
At least that's how I got my 5.7m Dogecoins back in the day.
If you're in a hurry and don't want to trust your luck, buying is the only option.

The thing is that you can spend 200 euros now, and hold the BTC, and wait like 10 years, they might be worth like 20,000 euros.
But who knows, this is all luck. Don't spend money you can't afford to lose completely.

You can also buy other coins of course, and hope they go up, then sell, but in the long run, BTC is the safest bet.

Thanks for your respond. I guess that to mine bitcoins I need a computer that can support a good "overclocking" with fat processor and RAM. My actual computer was built for me by my brother at July 2015 and cost me 1050 euros, refresh by water cooling and ~10 fans. But it was built for a gaming use and I think it's not a config that can be use for mining. Well if you know some hardware needed I'm curious to see the price.

> I guess that to mine bitcoins I need a computer that can support a good "overclocking" with fat processor and RAM.
No, you don't understand.
Normal computers can't mine bitcoins, they are too slow, even a $5000 PC can't mine bitcoins for all intents and purposes.
You actually need special hardware, Bitcoin Miners, there are different prices for those though, even some cheap ones, but not very good.
https://bitcoinworldwide.com/mining/hardware/

But if you have an AMD card in your system, minin "scrypt" coins is still doable, but only the coins that are not famous yet, like I said, you might get lucky.
When I said I mined 5.7m Dogecoins I was lucky, but I had also mined about 50 types of coins. Spent many months finding out about new coins and how to mine them with my shitty AMD card, but in the end it's worth about $6000 (if I had kept it all)

It's been rising periodically every X months since its inception.
It stays stable for a few months, then suddenly a 500% rise, then down to 250% of the original price before the rise. Then it loses slightly some more for a few months, or gains a bit, it doesn't matter.
It will keep happening.
ETH though, it's all up in the air, it might, and it also might crash. But in my opinion it will rise a lot more, because it's just better than Bitcoin and has many more uses, and we will see some of those uses in the future.

are you completely ignoring the fact that the bitcoin network is hanging from a thread right now? the mempool hasn't cleared for 2 straight weeks and visa/paypal is now becoming CHEAPER and FASTER than bitcoin. do you realize what will happen if it gets to the point where 90% of bitcoin users won't be able to send coins anywhere? you call that safe?

Yes, it's safe to say that my coins will continue to be where they are at. If you want to move money on the capital B blockchain, the oldest and safest blockchain with the best devs in the game, pay the fee or use the faster pajeetcoin, which is faster and cheaper because nobody gives a fuck about it, no other reason.

If you don't want to pay the fee, then wait until further scaling is deployed into the network.

Altcucks shilling their shitcoins claiming how bitcoin is done because Roger Ver is spamming the network and a bunch of idiots aren't paying the proper fees is just hilarious.

you are more delusional than I thought, you can't see the forest through the trees.

blockstream is retarded because they only want control and don't care if the network fails. they also hold a few key patents in segwit. the chinese mining cartel are greedy fuckheads and don't want to hurt their mining algos. both sides are both peices of shit, and that's bad news for you if you trust that they will "do the best thing" for bitcoin. best of luck to you.

meanwhile, I'll stick to web 3.0 and smart contracts, and a dev team that's actually functional.

Wow watch out we got a whale here.

Enjoy your memETH while it lasts. If smart contracts are ever anything but an useless meme, they will happen under Rootstock as a Bitcoin sidechain. No one is going to willingly hold long term a token that operates within a turing complete blockchain.

Is ETH a good investment for the time being? Probably, but even if it goes to $1000 the fundamentals are shit.

The only good alt is LTC and only because BTC still doesn't have segwit. Once it does, LTC will crash too.

Bitstamp. I've never had any issues with them, their site is stable and doesn't lag much when shit goes down as opposed to Kraken for instance. Since people like using Bitstamp to withdraw, it's also regularly a lot cheaper than Kraken and BFX, so it's great to buy on. Once you've bought, just move them to another exchange (Bittrex/Kraken/Polo) if you're into altcoin trading.
