Unless someone in this thread provides a real explanation on what link does, and provides a real example, a REAL WORLD EXAMPLE, with proof,

I probably don't yet know enough about the subject to have a useful response. But it seems to me the main problem is that storing data on chain requires too much storage. And even if you somehow did it you'd still need to trust whoever is collecting the data.
I don't think it's unreasonable to trust centralized sources to supply data. How else will you do it? Run a blockchain that somehow discovers stock prices? I don't know, maybe it's doable. I'll keep my eye out for tech along these lines. Could be a chance to get on the ground floor of valuable new tokens.
