Stakenet is basically betting on Ethereum and Bitcoin being the future. They are building on top with their layer 2 protocol to basically roll Raiden and Lightning network into a normie friendly package.

This will help scale eth and BTC, and get rid of the massive wait times for confirmation and also transaction fees.

Key point, you don't need XSN to use their DEX. XSN is basically their way of implementing the necessary economics to sustain the infrastructure they have built (i.e masternode owners)

Suicide stack is 15,150 XSN (enough for setting up 1 masternode)

At the time of this writing, this is around 7,500$ for one node.

You may think it's expensive, but considering Dash ran up to 1.5 million per masternodes, and had no use case, I disagree.
