Someone please correct me if I say something blatantly incorrect: Uniswap is a decentralised platform which allows you to trade using a pooling system which calculates the price using a constant equation. Basically, you connect your wallet, write in the contract adress to the coin you want to buy (or just select it in the drop down of its awailable) and it will give you a price based on what's currently pooled and how much you looking to buy. Then if your transfer goes through fast enough and the price doesn't change too much during the transfer it will make a trade without you needing to buy directly from a different trader.
