It's a shame seeing what has happened to the UK. While I am mostly Swedish, I do have some British heritage and I lived in London for all of last year and I have a feeling that the only thing that is keeping the UK going is its financial sector (which is propped up by funny money). London is the epicentre of QE and the Cantillon effect IMO. I would be looking to GTFO if I were a Brit.

After the reset, nobody will be stupid enough to sell their gold for Bitcoin, or any cryptocurrency. Hence Bitcoin will become worthless. Fiat will actually be more valuable than Bitcoin, like novelty Zimbabwe trillion-dollar bills.

Satoshi is Adam Back, the head of Blockstream, and BTC was a scam from the beginning. Probably invented to serve as a second way to suppress the price of gold, since the COMEX alone wasn't sufficient. The gullible fools who created the 2017 bubble were distracted from buying gold and silver instead.

People who got into the South Sea Bubble early, and got out early, did very well also. Isaac Newton, for example. Of course, he then bought back in at the top and lost everything. And I'm sure that most of the people who invested in crypto were not more intelligent than Isaac Newton.

I agree. Blockstream is controlled by the banks, so the real purpose of BTC is blindingly obvious. The narrative used to be that Satoshi and BTC were pure, but then Blockstream and the banks corrupted them. But now that we know that Adam Back is Satoshi, everything makes perfect sense. This is why I think that Roger Ver and BCH are well-meaning but misguided. They are trying to get back to an ideal which never existed. And even if BCH or BSV did start to gain traction, Back would dump all his million coins and trash the project.

The really scary part is how the IRL cash frogs aren’t remotely sad at all (yet). I think there’s a tendency for those who follow the metal and other commodities markets to imagine that people are paying attention and starting to panic. IRL cash frogs are for the most part more like pic related, because if they were sad they’d stop being cash frogs pretty fast. Almost by definition cash frogs have to be happy frogs. For now.

Most people would have to think for a minute about how much an ounce is, and probably aren’t even sure whether $2,000 is a lot of money for that or not, and won’t know whether they’re buying the top, or whats going on. How would they?

If you’ve been stacking for a long time, this has probably been second nature to you for as long as you can remember, but I started only in April of this year.

>>/biz/thread/S18329812#p18329868

And only because I happened to browse /biz/ out of boredom and started reading /pmg/ because the old coins looked kind of cool, and the idea of buying PMs had never seriously occurred to me before this.

I’d heard about Ron Paul and the Fed and whatever, and classified the whole “buy gold” meme as just sort of a funny idea that might make sense, but I didn’t know anything about commodities markets, and it just seemed like an weird thing to do. I hadn’t even really thought enough about it to be afraid of and turned off by the burglary meme or dips in the market. It was just a big unknown that I really had never spent much time thinking about.

I think that’s where most people still are and still will be for months. Even if inflation really ramps up a lot of people won’t first turn to PMs because they don’t understand it, and even those who do will just think oh that’s a weird old hobby for smelly boomers, or that’s speculative, or these gold merchants are trying to pump and dump, or whatever. I think a lot of people will try to spend their money just on shit they understand like food medicine and weapons. Which probably isn’t a bad idea actually, but they’ll miss out.

Or maybe there will be no significant dips any more at all, it’s every man for himself and you should go buy as much as possible while you still can, who knows.

Is sterling silver plated or solid? I dont know if some of the sterling silver items I find online are good deals or not. Im just not used to dealing with this stuff vs just regular bullion.

Found a fork for 2oz at $32 free shipping, says sterling silver on the back. I would buy but any general tips on sterling silver in general or tricks to identifying solid vs plate or finding the real value?

Gold might be similar but it is much less reactive and generally doesn't corrode except because of acidic skin oils, but I don't know about sulfides from gloves. Yea this is a pretty bad way to play the sector, but to have the conviction to make the right plays you need to have had done the research to understand why specifically the sector is such a sure thing and for what time frame it will remain a 100% bet.

The best way to have leveraged gains in the sector is to research and buy individual high quality juniors, preferably 300M market cap and under and just holding them for 5-20 baggers depending on when and what you buy. You're taking a lot of unnecessary risk here for smaller upside potential. A precious metals bull market comes once every 10 years, don't waste it like this. Don't try to get rich quick, just do the work and get extremely rich in the 2-5 year range.

The so-called premium is only a real premium if you don't believe in manipulation. The word seems ridiculous to us only because we know that the "premium" price is the real price, and is, in fact, what keeps forcibly dragging up the spot price. Anybody who isn't a complete idiot is standing for delivery on the COMEX, where they can buy at the manipulated spot price, thus undercutting the real price; hence the bankers have to let the spot price climb in order not to be completely overwhelmed by the demand for physical.

What is my proof of work for PMs? That I dug it out of the ground. One and done deal. Cryptocurrencies time average the energy cost of proving monetary value, meaning that energy will always have to be input in order to ensure the integrity of money. I can use gold coins from the roman empire as money if I can find them. Excluding inevitable loss of coins due to human error, the same money could serve as a medium of exchange indefinitely and be remelted when it gets worn down. Plus the time it takes to put a coin in someone else's hand is much more instantaneous and satisfying than something that seems like it should be instant like cryptocurrency, in that it uses electricity which travels at the speed of light.

>All you boys that are invested in Miners how worried are you about nationalization? Don't think Daddy Trump will do it, but who knows?
This really depends on the jurisdiction you invest in. I'm not too worried because I try to avoid shithole countries. Canada, Australia, and parts of the US that are pro-mining are probably the best.
My contrarian take is that Russia is also a pretty good country to invest in, because they're pro-mining, want investment, want reduce their reliance on oil and gas, and are some of the most fiscally conservative governments out there.

Eric Sprott recently bought more shares of AbraPlata, which owns a deposit in Argentina. I think he and other investors are really underestimating the likelihood that the Argentinians will just nationalize this deposit and all other precious metals projects and mines. Argentina is a shithole that has defaulted on its debts so many times, and they have nationalized companies often in the last 50 years.

>> No.21172551

>Not gonna happen.
If gold goes to 3000 and silver goes to 100 there's going to be plenty of third world dictators and first world socialist bureaucrats and politicians who will try to nationalize and/or tax to death mines. It happened in the 1960s and 1970s, happened in the 2000s and early 2010s and will happen in the 2020s.
Choose your jurisdiction wisely. Avoid places you wouldn't dare to visit and wouldnt buy property.

Blockchain technology may yet have a future. Decentralized, anonymous, unregulated transaction ledgers absolutely do not.

There's a lot of smart but spergy people in the space who fail to understand it is not a coding problem. Currency is an artifact of government and a tool by which it controls society. Governments will never sit idly by and simply watch as you take this power away from them.

So, they will move against exchanges soon. They may offer to swap people to fedcoin or just digital dollars (no real difference) or they may just tell you to get fucked as your "currency" plummets to zero, because the men with guns said no one is allowed to use it in the territory they control... which is everywhere where you would want to buy anything.
