Any experience? Dealing with SD Bullion. Provided the same details to APMEX JM and Monuments, and never had a problem with USPS. AMEX looks like it wouldn't cover this as a product protection since it's still with the courrier? I can't really tell. I sent of to SD support but I guess i'll be waiting till tuesday to hear back.

Officially about half of all the gold ever mined has gone missing, and likely it is at the bottom of the ocean or lost in forgotten vaults. One interesting tid bit of info from the 19th century, when people really didnt trust banks, they would often hide their gold coinage or bullion next to fence posts or power / telegraph lines marked with a symbol or even a specific rock. This worked surprisingly well, as even today caches of these coins are still found in California and the Pacific northwest. Another lost insane amount of bullion happened when the Mexican Emperor was deposed, his bullion was sent by loyalists to the US border where men in the US would stash it for his sons return to power. No one has any idea where that estimated 9 tonnes of gold went.

The place I would want to use a massive metal detector over would be the florida keys. Over 200 Spanish treasure ships were lost over the decade of plunding the Aztec and Inca empires, hundreds of tons of gold, silver and platinum were lost to the seas there as well as massive gem stones and intact Aztec art that was to be displayed in private european collections. To put it into perspective, the spanish ships used tons of silver and platinum as ship ballast.

Hey, UK Stacker here. You can use SilverForum Trade Section, people who sell there usually got their silver from Estonia (tax free), so the prices are really nice.
Or just order from Estonia yourself, this forum even organizes "group orders" so it's cheaper and you spend just a few pounds on delivery together with everyone else. They literally order like 80 kilo of silver from there every few months.
Other than that there is no way to avoid taxation on silver, you can buy gold if you want. It's completely tax free in the UK. No VAT, no CGT.

Link is a good foundation, just like BTC or ETH. Ideally you will want an altcoin portion of your portfolio in addition to your BTC, LINK, and ETH. Smaller market cap projects have more room for growth, but carry more inherent "risks" due to volatility.
A lot of anons working with less money choose to invest solely in alts since the potential is higher, as they feel they're priced out of higher market cap projects. I wouldn't steer you away from LINK, BTC, or ETH, but I would say start there and then work your way towards investing in smaller market caps as well to take your shots at bigger gains in a smaller time period to add to your stack of the big boys.

This is going to get very interesting as well. In fact the next 10 years is going to be fascinating as a whole. Real armored paper silver, personified as SLV is an answer to not just the financial system but the overall transfer of value and information to the user vs. a random “woke” Company. Instead of being forced to give away your SLV, you can have choice. Instead of being forced to hand over all of your anime figurines to Facebook and Google, you can choose to block access. So on and so forth.

SLV creates an establishment of trust world wide when we live in a society that is becoming more skeptical in nature. You cannot print trillions and trillions of dollars and expect people to believe the economy will suddenly recover. You cannot force people to close down their businesses and then expect them to maintain all of their employees due to an interest free loan (that still needs to be paid back by the way). You cannot have mass riots on the Streets in expensive areas and believe that rich people will simply “live with it”. These conclusions are not even debatable.

If the 2000 to 2020 range was the year of the internet and software, 2020-2040 should become the year of decentralized finance and new internet economies best exemplified by SLV and not physical silver a form of money that is devalued by trillions every 3-5 months is not going to store a lot of value.

The fact that people treat silver as the go-to safe asset when banks are teetering is heavy with historical irony. Silver money was once the symbol of monetary irresponsibility. But even as individuals have taken recent crises as reasons to stock up on silver coins and medallions, authorities would do well to consider the arguments for phasing out their use as another “barbarous relic”, the moniker Keynes gave to chattel slavery.

Already, by far the largest amount of money exists and is transacted in paper form — as bank deposits and central bank reserves. But even a little physical silver can cause a lot of damage to the economic system.

The existence of rounds — a bearer instrument with a zero interest rate — limits central banks’ ability to stimulate a depressed economy. The worry is that people will change their deposits for rounds if a central bank moves rates into negative territory. The Swiss, Danish and Swedish central banks, in a demographic culture of collapse, have pushed rates lower than many thought possible; but most policymakers still believe in an “effective” lower band not far below zero

This is exactly how I feel. I feel like parking your money ANYWHERE except for a bank account is the way to go right now.
Of course, if there's a major crash/correction, you'll lose your nominal value until things pick back up. But with the way things are right now, it really feels like you need to at least have your money somewhere to beat inflation or hedge against fiat

Depends what you're trying to do.
If you're trying to make more money to buy more physical, you need to do more short-term calls/options and day/several day to a week swing trade them.

If you're trying to sit comfy, you should have some in September (to see how market reacts to the pressure on COMEX on deliveries actually being demanded) and then also calls in January or even later to see how the world reacts to corona virus during the winter (look at how South America who is in Winter right now has been handling it..)

You need to be willing to buy Puts on the short-term time frame too if you see the momentum break, ride it down and then cover & go long again

Congress is one of the most incompetent and hated governing bodies in the world, don't spend too much time on it. Just know that there is no real separation between the two parties, it's just they have to pretend to care about different things to get elected in different areas. The illusion of choice is part of what keeps Americans lulled into letting the gov't fuck our asses.

PLS EXPLAIN, SOMEONE:

If i buy gold how does that help me retain value if the value is useless? if its just a few numbers on a screen, how do i translate that into using it into a currency for purchases? because i find it hard to believe that my money on an online exchange can give me the opportunity to buy something if the only way to convert that is (back) into a (worthless) dollar

if your fiat becomes completely worthless it will disappear and no one will use it, then you can trade gold for other valuables like land, real-estate, stocks, food, utilities, etc.

what will most likely happen tho is that your fiat will continue to inflate for many decades reducing it's value while the value of gold stays constant or even goes much higher in terms of other assets since there is such a high demand for gold

Same. I never took too big a risk on options before, mostly just bought the cheap ones just to see how they move in real time and to better understand the Greeks (read: I still don't). I may try to add a put like he said if I'm feeling a little paranoid of a pull back. Small amount that'll at least hedge the dump in casey gut feeling was right.

I don’t know about you all... but because of Corona this is the first time since college that I’ve felt alive. I have lots of silver and been waiting for something like this to happen for 5 years. The point where things get so bad that 1 silver Roosevelt dime will buy me a blowjob from a formerly well to do housewife and her 18 year old daughter at the same time. I’ve been waiting in the shadows laughing at these cuck husbands who buy their wives range rovers instead of buying silver bullion... knowing that I’ll be face fucking their wives mouths for the 1.30$ it cost me to buy that silver dime.

Just yesterday at Whole Foods I seamlessly entered into conversation about Corona with a roastie milf that had a ring on her finger in the water aisle... and I said this is all a cover for trump to bring us back on a gold standard. She started looking at me in amazement like she wanted me to paint her lips in cum. At the end of the conversation I’m like take my number l have plenty of protection and freeze dried food if you ever need it and she took it from me.

Yes I am aware of this, my question is:

If the gold I own is on an exchange/digits on a screen (not physical)

(how does it work, do I go to some physical store and tell them I want to trade in my holdings for physical gold?)

.... The only way to convert that into a physical currency is to go back into the (now worthless) dollar bills.

I can't wrap my head around physical gold being used in stores, will they weigh the amount to determine its worth and what/who will decide the number that gold settles on
x/ounce (right now its the exchange, right?)

Fiat = the generally used means of exchange?(ex. a dollar bill)

Thanks

Your question is a little unclear but I assume you are wondering how you would “cash out” practically speaking? Anyone controlling anything of value in the future will be interested in your gold, whether that thing is basic necessities, capital producing assets or a new sound currency. As Alisdair McLeod says, you have to understand that dollar amounts only really matter when you are still trying to physically acquire it. After that PMs should be valued in terms of their future purchasing power when used directly as money with no LCS middleman or fiat off ramp. Who you are able to sell it to and for what in return is more important than its USD value.
