Live frugally, save your money, and find vehicles to invest. If you are lucky enough to have a high income already you can use the index fund method of stock investing, but if you don't make much money you would probably be better served with either getting better educated so that you can make more money (realtor's license, certificate in a trade, etc), or saving to start a business of some kind.

Don't move out of your parent's house until you make three times the rent of an apartment.

Go to a free local day trader/options trader, or stock trader meetup. Network and build a good rapport with the people in the group. Keep going to the group and be professional and helpful. The will teach you. Learn to trade futures contracts using paper money with TD ameritrade's thinkorswim. Paper trade consistently for a full month before using real money. Learn the fibonacci retracement patterns and test them to become confident in trading them. Save up $2k. Start with infinity futures platform. Use the knowledge you used from paper trading futures with your real money. Make around 40% and beyond on your original $2k in a month. This is what I did, but it does take discipline, drive, and a willing to take risk.

Go to meetup.com and search for "Stock" or "trading". Google might also help. Also, no you will not be laughed at. Be honest and say you're trying to learn. Most of the people at these groups are retired very wealthy men and they wish that the younger generations would be interested in trading. Just go in being humble, honest, and willing to ask questions.
