Pools are public and run mostly by the community. There are more than active 825 pools right now. You as an ADA holder will delegate to a pool, without ever sending your ADA. Your ADA will always stay in you wallet, where it will grow from rewards.

Native Assets on Cardano will pay their own transaction fees. ADA stakers will receive a portion of those fees as rewards.
Imagine if ERC20 tokens on Ethereum didn't need ETH to be transacted. And just by holding ETH, you got some of those tokens just by holding ETH.
Cardano will do this.
