Yeah I should have cut out of the losing trade fast. I refused to close my position even though I knew the market was turning against me, my friends in jp morgan had told me with complete certainty months ago that they knew the market was going to charge upwards (JP Morgan even put it out in the press at the time) and i completely believed them but still didnt sell my shorts.
I believed that the markets had to come down "at some point" due to valuations but now i realise that valuations have been completely overpriced for nearly 3 decades. I've learnt my lesson and i will absolutely under no circumstances ever ever go short again. at least if youre losing on a long position you can be quite certain the market will eventually recover.

Then invest in QQQ or TQQQ. You're not going to get stable 1% gains every single day on safe stocks. They're safe because their movement is slow and steady. NET isn't a "buy it now and lambo tomorrow" kind of stock. It's the kind you throw a portion into every paycheck and forget about because it'll have stable growth. The stocks that go up 1% every single day are going to have pullbacks now and then, and unless you're selling at those tops every time you're going to average out less than 1% daily anyway.

In other words, this is a passive buy. If you want an active buy then go for another stock. NET isn't likely to moon out of the blue unless they get some groundbreaking deal overnight or something. But they're also not going to randomly fall off a cliff if you take a break to grab your tendies from the microwave. They're just a stable place to park your money into. Think of NET as a saving's account with better returns than what your bank would give you.

I really like the monthly payers. BST SDYL CEFD and SPHD are probably my favorites. At some point I'll bail on UPRO and UTSL and sink that capital into the more long term stable Vanguard and Schwabs etfs. But for me, it's all about those monthly divvies. As long as UBS doesn't implode then the eTRACS series should be nice income generators but I can't really recommend them because they could be pulled overnight which is what happened to some of them in March.

No, but to be fair I do own some TSM for different reasons. I don't believe TSM has the same stability and growth as Cloudflare. TSM isn't a bad call, but it definitely is more of an investment vehicle in the sense of expectations that they're in the best position in the semiconductor space to make big moves sometime in the future.

Cloudflare has good projects up their pipeline. Their serverless hosting is pegged to be an actual threat to AWS.
https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/serverless/what-is-serverless/

This is likely to give them microboosts here and there as more companies adapt to it and snowball, but I personally don't feel it'll go up 10% overnight or anything. It's just the kind of stock that will "always go up" and rarely have any truly bad days. The upswing days will far outpace the bad days. The "dip" it took today after hours doesn't even put it below its price from 2 days ago.

This is the time to average down on a 99% guaranteed thing, anonitos

I'm at 200 shares of each NHCL and CCL at around $18.50

200 AAL at $16 (im doing a 200 shares limit buy at $11.50)

Got 30 shares of RCL at $55 (30 shares limit buy at $48.50)

NHCL ($13.70 now) is doing its earnings reports today so it may dip. Im shorting 200 shares at $12 on a limit buy to average down.

Every green day all these have been moving up. With the stimulus im sure I can break even and make profit. Last round of stimulus, we were green for 2-3 weeks then dipped with Coronita-chan.

The market is really high right now and I don't think we've started pricing in the impact shutting down all the schools this fall is going to have on our economy.

Plus if congress can't come to an agreement to extend the extra $600 week benefits to the unemployed working families, and have manufacturers get down to net 0 carbon emissions the kids are going to starve and the impact on the environment will be devastating.

I'd personally entirely get rid of NFLX, T, MGM, BABA and trim TSLA and QQQ. No comment on the rest desu, seems solid, but underweight in re-expansion plays. If you want exposure to telecom, TMUS is probably better than T. If it's for Warner Media, I'd go for AMZN or keep a little NFLX.

DR GRAVES PUT THE WAGIE IN THE DIRT

Dr. Graves added, “In connection with this organizational realignment we have an opportunity to maximize efficiencies with a need to align our operating costs with current revenue levels. As such, we will reduce our workforce by nearly 20%, with the majority being completed by year-end. This reduction in force is a difficult but essential step in our ongoing strategic process, designed to better position the company for sustainable and profitable growth. I would like to express my appreciation to each of the employees impacted by this decision for their dedicated service."

some indian casinos are like that. other indian casinos do free drinks. i think it depends on how big of a business they are. it becomes easier the larger the company is. all the vegas casinos give free drinks but they are selective too. they arent going to give free drinks to randos and lookyloos. they wait until they see you on camera playing at the same spot for like 20 or so minutes, then come by to offer drinks.

Some of that is mutual funds and retirement portfolios forced to sell to readjust their holdings. I forget which ones but some of them are mandated by law to have certain percentages in stocks, bonds, cash, etc. So when a stock rallies, some might be forced to sell just to adjust their percentages even if the stock is likely to continue to rally.
Alternatively, smart players set price targets and sell there unless they've decided that a rally will continue. My price target for F is 8, if it reaches that I sell unless something comes out that makes me think they'll see far more rallying.
It's a complicated dance. Dips on good earnings aren't unexpected. View it as a time to buy even more of the stock on the cheap if you feel that confident in it.

Read the 10Q next time, they bleed money because they have too much staff and spend too much on marketing. Does this mean the stock will go down?
