How about we do a massive giveaway of PND this weekend? I'm sure there are plenty of anons who can do without 5-10M, and the dumping risk isn't that high because of the low current price if we give less than 50-100k per user (i.e. <0.01 LTC).

some people see beyond their own egos and want to contribute to a greater cause. efforts like that should be lauded, not ostracized.

there's a pretty good chance that bitcoin was started by tptb as a beta test for a cashless currency, one which they could track 100% and tax and control. be that as it may, it is still possible for us, the common people, to take that idea, refine it, perfect it, and use it to oust the rothschild cabal.

888 was worthwhile when it was selling at 1000sat+. I managed to dump 25k coins at 1050sat, but that's never gonna happen again.
Volume is very low, buywalls are very small and most under 900sat.
Which puts you at 0.008/mh/d. You could slightly profit if you managed to snatch a rig for under 0.007/mh/d but the return is not that big anymore.

i have no link at hand but i can explain:

cryptocurrency is a virtual currency, where transactions are saved forever in a public ledger called blockchain. when one sends another one a coin, this transaction is written in the blockchain and secured by hashes and private keys (the latter are what are saved in the wallet.dat). when a transaction happens, the network *looks* into the blockchain, if the sender really owns the coins (they have been send to him at any time eariler). if so, the transaction is confirmed and if enough confirmations are given, the value has changed ownership.

the blockchain itself is a chain of hashes where one follows the other. problem now is that hashes are unpredictable and a tiny change in the clean text gives a total different hash. to find a block that fits to the previous one, you have to find the hash to a "clean text" that's not known yet. only way to do that is brute force, trying millions of hashes until one is found that fits. this process is called mining and it consumes alot of computing power. to encourage nodes to spend their computing power, each block consists of a few coins and who ever finds the block gets the coins that are hidden in it. this way the network pays miners to keep the blockchain alife.

this so much for a brief, rough and not totally flawless explaination of crypto currencies.

different coins have different parameters and of course a different network. networks consists of nodes and each one holds a copy of the blockchain. changing the client changes the blockchain that beginns at a genesis block and goes theoretically unlimited into the future. thats also what hard forks are: new client with significant parameter changes on the same network fork the blockchain into the new parameters and the majority of the network has to use a fork so that the forked chain becomes legit.

>> No.210263

I feel like technical explanations of the backend of crypto currency isn't really a great intro for newbies, if you want to learn the specifics of how it works technically then do some research on the web, but the most part it doesn't matter for using them.

The practical basics of crypto currency is that you download a wallet application which holds your coins in a digital wallet, and allows you to receive and send coins to different addresses.

It's very much just like any other regular fiat currency except it's purely digital. The different coins have different parameters for how fast they can be generated (mined) and how many can exist in total before the supply runs out.

There's 2 ways to get coins, either someone sends them to you in exchange for something, you could sell good, services, or exchange for other currency, most people exchange fiat currency at an online exchange for crypto currency.

The other way is to mine the coins directly, this requires downloading a mining application and running it, it uses some hardware and electricity costs to run it, you can do this as long as there are still coins to mine in that particular crypto currency.

They get an unequal share and when the coin reaches a decent value the temptation will be too big to resist and the coin gets dumped by those who are holding alot of it, it's devastating if there's only a small community around the coin.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/20a761/can_someone_help_me_understand_what_ive_found/cg1ewy9

"tl;dr version: Bitcoin is just a great digital way to solve the old problem of transferring intangible/unmovable property.

The overall process of transferring coins is far older than these whitepapers, or even the internet. The basic concept is used for real estate transactions. In the US, every county recorder's office has a massive ledger of property transactions, which anyone can view.

To over-simplify, it says "Adam gave property # 875562 to Bob", "Bob gave property # 875562 to Charlie", "Charlie gave property # 875562 to Dana".... These records work because they are publicly available, even if they are inconvenient to actually find because the system is so old. Every member of society can look at the transaction chain and see that it is accurate. If a society was willing to be completely inefficient and super-redundant, each member could have their own ledger and dispatch photocopies to the other ledgers after each update.

Each transaction is signed by the buyer and seller to verify that both approved. Bitcoin just put the system online, gave everyone the ledger, requires everyone to use signatures that are very hard to forge, and occasionally gifts new property to the most diligent ledger-writers."

I have no idea what I'm doing.

I currently only have 300kh/s available and the altcoin market seems so fucking shit right now.

almost no coin besides doge seems to have a future and those who are trading well are NOT minable with under 10mh/s and are occupied by faggots with rented mining farms.

hmm next time while posting ads, directly linking a pool and a getting started guide like (http://bamboohouse.info/index.php?page=gettingstarted)) would be better since more miners are needed and they need to get started quick

However better not to post any ads till we have figured out the new logo

maybe they contain potential miners and not just 4chan anywhere ads are put up linking to pools will be more productive

people who are new to crypto maybe more interested in mining a new coin rather than trading in it

I dont see the harm in trying to get more miners through ads

rent a rig once you find a coin you like, just let your card tick over on one solid currency like ltc or doge, so you can transfer that relatively stable coin to exchanges. i get the same hashrate as you. it's not worth doing much else imo. even if you do get in early and mine millions of any coin over days/weeks, by that time loads of other potatoes will have done the same, and dumped into oblivion.
atm i'm paying... i think it's 20,000 doge/24 hours, for a 2mh/s rig. something like that. there are 500mh/s rigs out there sometimes, so hit the right coin immediately at launch with something like that, and assuming the pool doesn't die, you should only need to mine for a few hours, and it shouldn't get too expensive.
