Get a job, work it, realize just how much it sucks, go to school/self teach a skill or trade, break into industry, etc etc. Could take 10 years or more depending on how long it takes you to find what you enjoy amd are good at.

Becoming a nurse atm. Taking cc route for that. Pays good, I have no problems with the environment, I just severely lack financial knowledge, skills, etc

Take $3000 and buy ETH and Link. Then forget about it for six months, and you'll be in a much better position.

A nurse isn’t going to have time to babysit investments, but that doesn’t mean you can’t invest. Calculate your expenses each month, make sure you’re making more than you spend, and set aside some of each paycheck to invest.

As for investments, for stocks you will need to use an online broker like Fidelity, for crypto something like Coinbase. These services require you to confirm your identity and can receive deposits straight from your bank account. Note that these deposits are usually not instantaneous and the process of approval can take some time, so be prepared for some lag before you can get started with investing.

I can’t speak much for which stocks to buy, but exchange-traded funds and managed mutual funds tend to be relatively stable investments that will gradually increase in value over time.

Crypto is inherently more risky but can have a better rate of return. The problem is wading through a sea of bullshit. Understand that crypto is still in the early stage of adoption, though that adoption is coming in some form or another. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Chainlink are the coins you’ll see talked about most here, and for good reason. Read about them first if crypto interests you.

Make sure to keep a comfortable amount of cash-on-hand to deal with any necessary purchases that arise. But otherwise don’t be afraid to invest your excess dollars in assets you believe are solid and have long term upside

By the way, Coinbase has a “Pro” version that has much lower fees, but the interface is less newbie friendly. Give it a look because it will save you money when buying crypto

Do not listen to any of the advice on here. Do not buy anything anyone here shills you. Save that $5k. Start working your way through nursing school. Keep adding to that savings until you've got about a year's worth of income saved (as in you could live off that savings for a year with no other income). Only once you've hit that mark should you consider investing or any other financial instruments.

>what should I do?
1.Educate yourself. the learning doesn't stop and shouldn't stop after highschool or college.
2.Tread into new territories and do so with caution. Don't get burnt or fall for scams.
3.Talk to people who have done what you want to do and get their advice.

If you really want to put money in crypto I would say do not put more than 300 or 500 given your savings. You will just regret it.
If you want something slow but sure, go for ETH. Don't fall for the memes in here.
