Spot and phys will decouple at that point, because of severe supply/demand imbalance as supply approaches infinity and demand craters due to people demanding liquidity of paper metals, or else dealers simply refuse to buy and wait for it to bounce back.

But this is all academic, because, institutional investors fucked up by getting caught and having to sell PMs in march. Make no mistake, many people on wall street know the score now (even if the media is controlled) and they're very quietly repositioning themselves such that they have sustainable PM hedges, and many of them physical and allocated. There will not be such a rally again.

spot is 22, cheapest to buy price is 25-29$, that extra $ is called a premium.

When the premium is that high, and dealers are running out of stock and taking a month to deliver, that is what is called a disconnect between the spot (read price on paper) and the price to actually buy the metal itself.

Plenty of good dealers in the OP, shop around before you commit to buy, dont spend anything you cannot afford because nothing is dumber then buying silver and having to trade it for rent.

If you're not hurting for money, don't sell the necklaces. You will get more money if you just wait because everyone and their mother who knows a bit about gold, has heirlooms, and saw gold hit all time highs have already gone out and sold. So there is a glut in gold jewelry supply and that will take a while to get through the recycling system, which I would say would take anywhere from 3-6 months with the pandemic right now. And even though it is possible for prices to somehow tank, it's so unlikely and you will see higher gold prices when you decide to sell later in the short-medium term.

Bars are a good idea, you could always get a mini stack of one silver and one gold bar to start out, just to see what you think. Personally I like kilo silver and 10g gold bars.

Some people will say you should hold out for a 1oz of gold, but that’s a lot of money to invest in a single coin that can’t be divided (in b4 >pieces of eight, that’s a great way to totally wreck the resale value of your PMs in one literal stroke).

Budget of $1,000? You could actually afford both a 10g bar of gold and a tidy stack of junk silver half-dollars for that money.

https://www.bullionstar.com/buy/product/gold-pamp-10g

Junk was typically the cheapest option (or whatever your nation's local equivalent of old coins were). It lets you stack fractional amounts of silver per coin without paying out the nose for 1/10oz rounds and that kind of thing. I'm of the opinion that if you can find cheaper silver in another format, get it. However be wary of 40% Kennedy halves and rolls of 35% war nickels. They are usually cheaper, but their low purity hurts their resale. However if you're stacking in the hopes of a monetary reset this won't matter that much

That would just be my preference, I like historical shit and junk even today is often cheaper than other kinds of smaller weight silver.

If you like shiny new stuff, consider Asahi 1oz rounds, or if you’d prefer government minted coins, Austrian Philharmonics and South African Krugerrands are often the cheapest. But you can occasionally find deals on anything, including Canadian Maples, American Silver Eagles, or Britannias.

If you ever do see a good deal on Maples, do seriously consider snapping them up, they’re exceptionally well-minted generally and have particularly good security features.

There are no hard or fast rules in this business slash hobby slash investment, obviously we all want to make or at least keep our money, but there are slightly different ways of doing it.

Like why would there be a 'monetary' reset and in what world could old change be worth more than they are now and how would anyone recognizing it know the difference? the only reason I'm doing this is because people keep saying silver is going to be worth more so I should buy. She has a big bag of silver dimes that she got from her ex husband and I asked her for some of these instead of cash. I also told her to hang on to the rest with what the silver market is doing. If you took this literally, you’d end up with a pile of war nickels, the shittiest debased 50% silver shillings with the portraits and years worn off, and those god awful owl coins with Comic Sans text on them.

You do actually have to consider how easy it will be to resell your silver, even and perhaps especially if you’re trying to be hardheaded about it all.

Silver is extremely volatile but when it rallies like it is now you can make cash. Unlike investments you're removing your financials from the fiat system so all the (((gold merchants))) want to sell you more. The silverfags are worse because they are broke bois wishing they had gold money.

The risk is minimal when you buy from mints or well-respected dealers. But you’re right that the risk is higher with bars than coins, which is why some individual collectors shun bars.

If you prefer coins that’s fine, but then you’d best buy your coins in bulk because you get better deals that way. They often come in tubes of 20.

I actually like American Silver Eagles, but because they’re a bit of a boomer meme or whatever they tend to carry a ridiculous premium, which is why (if you’re iffy about foreign coins due to potential lesser recognition) Maples are a great alternative, especially if they’re cheaper which they often are. They’re almost as recognized and trusted as American Silver Eagles and a great coin besides.

Main indicator imo is the price ratio to gold. Gold is at an all time high as we speak. Last time gold was this high, silver was more than double current spot. What can done to fix the problem? Jail would probably be on improvement for them. I think public beatings for first offense is a good punishment. We can tell them they get 1 lash removed for every person they snitch on. Then beat her/his friends first in public while said snitch is made to stand a few feet in front and watch. They get an additional lash for every person the stitch told on. Say 5 people are ratted out each identified foreign worker gets 5 extra.
Second offense should be fit to the crime for fairness. If picking strawberries then their hands are amputated, if stocking a warehouse and the job includes looking for things their eyes are removed. Third offense is prolonged torture until death.
First punishment is corrective and discourages further criminality. Second makes it impossible. Third removes the problem entirely. Maybe too lenient but the west is known for being merciful. If they can learn eventually from a beating or amputation its worth the effort.

There will not be such a rally again

>> No.20950774

At this point, how can COMEX not fail? We are seeing physical metal shortages causing the spot and physical price to basically decouple. We're past the point of "premiums". There's enough money in there to create a lucrative arbitrage opportunity by taking delivery of physical and selling it into the market. Even if people weren't worried about the paper market, the incentive is still there to start massively taking delivery.

>> No.20950796

>>20950774
My point is this
You have 10,000 ounces of silver. It is revealed that its a shell game. There is no metal. What is your first reaction? You sell. Silver crashes hard. Silver could trade down to 0.01. Same goes for the Gold. You find out there is no metal. You have 1000 ounces. First reaction? Sell. Sell it all. This applies to every product. You could have misleading price action where gold or silver or even artisanal lavender beeswax trades down to $1 for the simple fact that its worthless. A print that low doesnt mean silver is only worth $1. A print that low means your paper silver in your hand is worth 3 figures

The fact that people treat silver as the go-to safe asset when banks are teetering is heavy with historical irony. Silver money was once the symbol of monetary irresponsibility. But even as individuals have taken recent crises as reasons to stock up on silver coins and medallions, authorities would do well to consider the arguments for phasing out their use as another “barbarous relic”, the moniker Keynes gave to chattel slavery.

Already, by far the largest amount of money exists and is transacted in paper form — as bank deposits and central bank reserves. But even a little physical silver can cause a lot of damage to the economic system.

The existence of rounds — a bearer instrument with a zero interest rate — limits central banks’ ability to stimulate a depressed economy. The worry is that people will change their deposits for rounds if a central bank moves rates into negative territory. The Swiss, Danish and Swedish central banks, in a demographic culture of collapse, have pushed rates lower than many thought possible; but most policymakers still believe in an “effective” lower band not far below zero.

You guys still don't get it.

that inflation, that disconnect of paper to commodity, is exactly the reason that generation is now wealthy. Yes, their wages went down over time, but their houses went up in value. Yes the dollar went down but SLV soared. They bought cheap commodities on credit and paid for them with dollars that became less valuable every year.

you act like that's a bad thing when it paid for your computer or phone, your childhood, your very existence.

We don't WANT currency that holds its value, nobody gets rich off that ever. The game is in knowing how it's going to change. Protip: it's going to go down in value every year. Which means your paper silver is going to go up in relation to it.

Constitutional/Junk silver is the cheapest way to get fractional silver. Premiums on 1/2. 1/4, and 1/10 toz silver is brutal. Additionally, 90% silver is an alloy that is specifically for circulation. So it is hardened and more durable, whereas 999 silver bullion can scratch easier and get dinged up. Same can be said for 24K/9999 gold. It's too soft to bepractical as a currency, so 22K or 90% gold works better for circulation. As a currency meant to actually function as transactional money, 90% gold and 90% silver coins are superior for this purpose.

What this >>20951366 anon said. Right now we're at about 82:1 silver to gold. Loading up on silver now is the play because when the ratio starts dropping to say around 40/30/20:1 you can then swap your silver for gold at a much higher rate than you can now. 100ozt of silver (or 1.2ozt gold) now, then swap it for 2.5/3.33/5ozt of gold later. It's all about purchasing power, baby.

There is also a longer argument made that since there is less silver above ground than gold, silver has many more industrial uses, and silver is more approachable for the average fuck it has a much higher upside than gold.

That's the thing about SLV. It's a brand. You know it's silver. With regular Washington silver quarters or Roosevelt dimes, you have to know the dates they were minted. There are other tactics like knife-catching, which most here would tell you not to do.
I spend WAY too much time watching charts and analyzing them.
I started buying silver with half of my swing gains, so now when I make a good trade I still get more crypto then I started with, but I also get silver out of it.
I'm bad when it comes to giving advice, also right now the market is at an odd time with all the recent pumps.
I don't use eToro, but they have a nifty feature where you can 'follow' another trader, so you can follow a few of their top traders and it'll auto trade for you based on what they are trading. Useful if you don't want to spend the time learning.

Its absolute insanity because even shit countries can put these little kits together. You test positive you go to the pharmacist pick up the kit, follow the instructions, and chances are you will be fine and never need hospital treatment.
Its deliberate death to sell shit vaccines and probably kill some Europeans for fun

If the COMEX defaults today I will celebrate being wrong. If it doesn't, I will continue in because I predicted it wouldn't. Fuck off APB.

No, COMEX is an exchange that is massively overleveraged holding down the prices of silver. SWIFT is just a legacy system that XRP is working to replace/integrate with and improve.

Oh, nah. The whole idea is that COMEX is an exchange where commodities are traded. Most of the time they (banks) only trade promissory note a to one another. Those promissory notes are supposed to be tied 1:1 with whatever commodity they are promising delivery of. Silver currently has 172 promissory note out for every 1ozt in existence, gold is 86:1. Entities are starting to demand delivery of the gold and silver they are promised, and the notion is that when enough people stand for delivery of enough ozt the COMEX will default and the price manipulation by the big players keeping the prices low through constant short positions will go with it.

I partied with a guy in Hyannis who claimed to be a Kennedy (half of the people in Hyannis claim to be related to the Kennedy family) who had that exact watch. He was super flamboyant and super gay. He brought along some sexy fag hags that it was fun to party with, but other than that...

That's the type of person who is into the sort of hyper-conspicuous consumption this watch represents. Take that for what you will.

>well theres a lot of contradictions here. silver will go up, so buy now. but don't spend all the money you can, and wait for the dip. march was good to buy, sorry if you didn't get any. but you can buy more now, just not too much because it'll dip.
