people really only suggest coinbase as a fiat onramp, it's not a great exchange for anything other than initially getting money into crypto, but cashapp might be better than coinbase now at that.

Coinbase sends all your info about all your trades, deposits, withdrawals, etc. to the man. For your convenience on tax day of course :^). If you instead buy ETH on coinbase or gemini, send that ETH to binance (.com so it's the original shady offshore version instead of .us) and buy your stinkers there then the IRS will never know you have any unless you choose to tell them. And you lost that ETH too gambling on shitcoins on binance of course.
