Not everyone will be able to stake, at least not right away. Here's an example with made up numbers but it should give you an understanding:

If there are 1 billion worth of smart contracts that require staking collateral, then it means 1 billion worth of LINK will be required for staking. But let us say that people want to stake 10 billion worth of LINK. Well they can't because only 1 billion is currently needed to cover all the smart contracts LINK oracles are covering. So the sum of people who own the remaining 9 billion are shit out of luck until network demand grows to require 9 billion more LINK.

Well its alot more logical solution than not letting ppl stake. More use = more need for collateral = number go up. When stakin is up the price of link is somewhat pegged to the profit staking can make. Ofc there is speculative aspect as well since smart contracts are going big in the future and usage of the network increases over time.

Well if u think about it. Having more collateral than is needed is essential for the network to have guaranteed availability at all times. If u run a node and stake, its not like "printing money". some1 needs to use that node and u get the fees for it. If u stake lets say thru binance this is not something you have to worry about. Its guaranteed that your stake is making profit. But i still think that if the collateral is 10x over valued its going to correct.

Nowhere did I say to sell or imply my statement was FUD. It's just pointing out that at the exact moment staking arrives it doesn't suddenly mean the demand for staking is so high everyone can do it on second 0 staking is announced. From the point staking is announced and going forward, there will likely be an increasing demand as smart contracts prove their worth and companies save money.

The smart thing to do would be to NOT sell and hold your money as the demand grows and staking opportunities arise. Just because you specifically may not be fortunate enough to stake from the second it is announced doesn't mean you won't be able to join in on staking in the next week/month/year.
