As an interesting thought experiment, let's compare the mass of all sand on earth to the supply of bitcoin. Let's assume 0.0044 grams as the average mass per grain of sand (derived from sources online). Let's also assume 21,000,000 as the total supply of bitcoin. Now let's assume 7.5e+18 is the total number of grains of sand on Earth. That gets us about 3.29e+16 grams of sand on Earth. From that we can derive 1571372285.71429 grams of sand per bitcoin. That's 1571 tonnes of sand. Now let's take 1442kg/m^3 as our density, which is approximately the density of loose sand. That gets us 1089 cubic meters of sand. The cube root of 1089 cubic meters is about 10.28 meters. Now let's put these measurements into a 3D modelling program with an approximate shape of a human 1.75 meters (5 foot 9 inches) tall for reference. Pic related.

This isn't really a thought experiment though, what can we deduce or apply in concept in the future? This is meaningless comparison, is it also a thought experiment to say the number of molecules in a single fart contains more stars in the observable universe?

There's no way there's less than 2,000 tonnes of sand on earth, that's a laughably tiny estimate. We use 50 billion tonnes of sand and gravel *every year*. How could you possibly be dumb enough to think there are less than 2,000 tonnes total? Are you a fucking retard? Have you ever been to a beach? Have you ever even seen a picture of a desert? This is such a moronic post.
