Guys be honest with me. How many ounces of silver to make it in the new paradigm??? I don't want to be left not having stacked enough.

Is 400 enough? 600? 1000? 2000!??

What is a realistic idea of what making it with silver looks like, once the switch is flipped and the manipulation stops.

This sort of shit happens often enough, but mining companies expect it. Usually a project just gets delayed while both parties negotiate a "fee" or deal with the natives or other party and things go back to normal. Sometimes though things drag on for a decade and ends with a dead project, such as what happened to the "Fish Lake" Gold Project in BC not long ago.

>The case for retiring another ‘barbarous relic’
>Could a world without cash make for a much-improved economy?

The fact that people treat cash as the go-to safe asset when banks are teetering is heavy with historical irony. Paper money was once the symbol of monetary irresponsibility. But even as individuals have taken recent crises as reasons to stock up on banknotes, authorities would do well to consider the arguments for phasing out their use as another “barbarous relic”, the moniker Keynes gave to gold.

Already, by far the largest amount of money exists and is transacted in electronic form — as bank deposits and central bank reserves. But even a little physical currency can cause a lot of distortion to the economic system.

The existence of cash — a bearer instrument with a zero interest rate — limits central banks’ ability to stimulate a depressed economy. The worry is that people will change their deposits for cash if a central bank moves rates into negative territory. The Swiss, Danish and Swedish central banks have pushed rates lower than many thought possible; but most policymakers still believe in an “effective” lower band not far below zero.

>> No.20817854

>>20817818
With a recovery under way in most rich countries this may seem academic. The talk is now of when to raise rates. But the fear of the lower band is still causing damage. The dominant argument for beginning the tightening cycle is to have enough “ammunition” for a new stimulus when the next downturn comes. Removing the lower band would leave central banks well equipped to deal with a slowdown even from near-zero starting points.

The second feature of cash is that, unlike electronic money, it cannot be tracked. That means cash favours anonymous and often illicit activity; its abolition would make life easier for a government set on squeezing the informal economy out of existence.

It is in this spirit that Kenneth Rogoff, the former chief economist of the International Monetary Fund, has argued in these pages for abolishing high-denomination banknotes such as the €100 and €500 notes.

>> No.20817880

>>20817854
Electronic money also permits innovations to reward law-abiding businesses. Value added tax, for example, could be automatically levied — and reimbursed — in real time on transactions between liable bank accounts. Countries that struggle with tax collection could go a long way in solving their problems by restricting the use of cash. Greece, in particular, could make lemonade out of lemons, using the current capital controls to push the country’s cash culture into new habits.

The technological and practical obstacles for using cash have largely disappeared. In Scandinavian countries, cards are regularly used even for tiny transactions. Sweden reached “peak cash” almost a decade ago: the amount of currency in circulation has shrunk by more than a quarter since 2007, even though the population and economy are both larger.

The anonymity that cash uniquely affords is, however, an argument for keeping it as well as for abolishing it. It is not only criminals and money launderers who prefer cash. Especially in the post-Snowden era, many ordinary citizens legitimately want the option of not leaving digital footprints.

Fortunately some benefits of electronic money can be reaped without banning all cash outright. Cash could remain accessible but at a cost, so that its users pay for the privilege of anonymity — and remain affected by monetary policy. Dated banknotes could see their value as legal tender gradually fall over time; banks could be charged for swapping electronic reserves for physical cash and vice versa. The benefits of cash are significant — but they need not be offered for free.

lol it's ok, converting all these different currencies with different weights and purities in confusing.
It's tricky, because there were 50% Canadian dimes and quarters. 27 50% dimes ($2.70) is 1.01oz, while 11 50% quarters ($2.75) is 1.03oz.
I didn't want to make the list too complex/confusing, and there are already three listings for Canadian silver... hopefully people will figure it out, and besides the "~1oz" means about/roughly 1oz.

There is no way to know what the future economic system will be like. Some people make torturously facetious comparisons to Ancient Roman legionaries salaries or Medieval England even though both economic conditions and the nature of mining, refining and so on were completely different.

You might think that a reference to say, salaries in Georgian England before the First War are a better guide, since conditions, standards of living and so on where at least somewhat similar, but in reality this is illusory,

There is no guarantee that saving, say, allocating the equivalent of fifteen shillings for every week as a budget is enough just because it was then. It MIGHT be, but it might not. The only thing we can know for sure the as always is that more is better.

Yes. They use PSLV to do it, where there are a 1488 owners for each paper ounce. But so many people are now demanding delivery on the COMEX and lately the NYMEX, that they are going to have to back off and let the price keep going up. As we saw when it went from $19 to $24 almost instantaneously like literally in an instant like that one time Ryouko did that eye flutter hoofstomp. $30 silver is coming soon but not from the direction you think. They do these sudden paper-dumps to frighten people, and slow the process a little, but the drop is inevitable. When the COMEX finally does default trading will migrate to the NYMEX then back again before applying for refugee status in Cancun , PSLV will get delisted, and the investors will lose everything as they should for not listening to my sage advice

I know. That’s why I said

> Well, not everyone literally but many more people.

Maybe it’s different in Continental Europe, I don’t know. But because in many countries only some of the silvery-looking coins were silver but not others at times, silver was taken out and then put back and so on, it sometimes makes would-be buyers have to research any individual coin.

Especially in the case of the US, you don’t really have to do this. Before 1964? Silver. Afterwards? Maybe to probably not silver. With Britain it gets a little more complicated, but before 1920 sixpences and higher were ALL silver and can be traded as such with confidence.

I have nothing against other countries’ junk but I’d have to be careful for obvious reasons. So many different countries all with their own history of their coinage.

Owners of land or property would instantly just hire security companies to arrest anyone violating the NAP. No need to kill the CHAZ faggots for example, just arrest every single one and make them fuck off to someone's property they're actually wanted in (good luck finding that lol).

So I did the math they traded 0.018% of an entire years worth of paper silver production. Literally none. Haha like they can just print more. That is crazy when the coin/bullion market makes up about 17% of total production capacity.
So nearly none of all global paper silver production used in coins was traded in 15 minutes. Total non issue except it shows the strength and virility not to mention anti fragility of the modern paper silver market. Go me!

Ok /Credit Card General/ here... If a card has 12 month 0% APR, does the interest start after 12 months, or do I get hit with a years worth of interest immediately?

Also looks like some cards give you $200 if you spend $500 in the first 3 months... what's the catch? How are they trying to fuck us over here? Or is this all just being subsidized by J. POW.?

But here is a big question. If we are going to a gold standard, which makes sense and sounds probable to me, then why the fuck are we stacking silver??? Serious question.

Wouldn't that be a moon mission for gold? Silver could make gains too of course, but if all money has to be backed by gold wouldn't we expect it to outperform silver by 1000x?? What am I missing here?

“I hate pennies,” said Ms. White, adding that they are so useless that she usually throws them on the ground when she gets them back as change. “They’re so stupid.”

If shit gets bad, having silver means you can leverage over other people. Having gold means you can leverage over institutions.

regarding gold vs silver

I have not seen a deal on gold in years, I know where to buy for the smallest premium over spot, but that is it. I find silver at or below spot often enough, and sometimes am the lucky fuck who got to it first. I never find that with gold... usually private sellers want more then the dealers for some dumb reason... I can tell them I can buy the same gold for 100bucks cheaper from a store, and show them the price online, and they still wont sell.

I rarely see people dump 10k + on silver, but ive seen it often enough with gold... weather that is just because the rich guys dont care, or need to carry it, I dont know... make your own conclusions. But both are going to rise up and account for all this BRRRRRTTTTTT even if we see a temp pull back to 1920 / 22 an oz which i hope for but now seriously doubt.

Good stuff mate, I've been working full-time from home for the last 5 months and getting in on the home gym life. Mask rubbish is a bit annoying but it's too cold to bother going outside much except for a walk, and if I do I just take food with me and eat while walking so I can take the mask off. Feeling pretty lucky that the mrs and I both have full-time jobs, we put about 5% of our wages into pm these days.

Don't take my advice to heart since I'm not as versed in this stuff as much as other people, but I'd say 1 oz gold will make it so you don't suffer and can eliminate any debt, 5 oz will earn you real economic safety like stability for a house, 10 oz and you'll have real purchasing power or if you're content to just remain safe/stable then you'll be a darling client to any bank or institution. More than 10 oz gold, and you'll be among the rich for sure, and have the freedom to either splurge with your money for comfort or pleasure, or to have a solid foundation to ensure and expand your wealth in the new economy. Basically

>1oz, secure in your current standard of living, won't suffer and can weather or clear any debt
>5oz, secure in a higher standard of living, live well and buy a house perhaps
>10oz, secure in a whole class higher of living standard, live very well and buy a business perhaps
>10oz+, secure in luxury, live exceptionally well and buy or found a business chain or more perhaps

This is of course if shit hits the fan though and the monopoly money turns to ash. And, assuming you don't get robbed if shit hits the fan, and if the government doesn't fuck us all over and you get caught unprepared to otherwise secure your PMs/wealth.

The offer he's making is not "would you like to purchase any amount of silver at 99c per oz?". He's asking, "would you like to buy this ONE bar in this obviously artificial situation so I can pimp you out to my viewers". If you would kowtow to this for literally a couple hundred bucks that's pretty pathetic.

Obviously what he actually wants is for someone to ask him "why are you selling it so cheaply?" so that he can open up his tirade about the federal reserve and the CIA murdering JFK because he took the silver out of our coinage. He's just trying to use people as props.

Aussie houses have terrible insulation. Most houses don't have insulation in the roof, let alone the walls or floor, and double-glazed windows are rare and expensive as hell.
I reckon once lockdowns ease and the plebs go back to the corporate gyms there will be a glut of gym stuff popping up on online marketplaces for cheap, so keep an eye out and get yourself set for life.

I know homeless people who get by in worse by just burning a kleenex or small wad of paper inside their sleeping bag, inside of their tent, ever few hours and they make it.
