From the last thread:

This weekend (and just before the jump to 24) I finally started:

>2 SilverTowne Buffalo (presale)
>2 Silver Eagle (presale)
>2 Australian Kangaroo
>2 Philharmonic
>1 brittania

Feels good to finally start, and just keep stacking. Finally found my new hobby, something that's kinda felt missing. These threads have been comfy the last few months, thanks for pushing me to finally get myself into this!

Just getting in early so that I can repeat this from the last thread.

"GDXJ and SILJ will get delisted due to Force Majuere soon, and the people here who are foolishly buying options on them will lose everything as they should. This video will explain it all to you in detail but only if you watch it, in detail and with active learning

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XliHE6QgljY&feature=emb_title

You should be doing either one or both or neither of two things,

1) Buying EFTs to hold in your possession i.e. your hands , paws or meathooks, if it's not in your hand at your job you will be canned. Simple as

2) Buying the GOLD and SLV stocks and EFTs on the stock market. This is important!

Chris Marcus interviewed over a hundred people in the anime futa industry for his book "The Big Silver Shorty Pants," and, when he would ask each one how many owners there are for each mercury dime, he never got an answer lower than 500."

Because C02 "is bad" and various government organizations and politicians want to subsidize ridiculous projects to put money in their own pockets while making voters happy.
The entire green energy sector is in a massive bubble. The only green energy that can in any way replace oil is nuclear, but nuclear is somehow more hated than oil.
Personally I believe this entire hydrogen/solar/wind energy debate is created by the oil cartels to detract attention away from nuclear. Hydrogen/solar/wind WILL fail, it's a mathematical inevitability.

But I wouldn’t worry. It s hard to really damage coins without actually trying. A little tarnishing and possibly milk spots over time are counteracted by numismatic premium, plus they’re always worth the metal in them.

Basically your coins will never positively go down in value unless you’re trying.

I think the real danger zone is new “collector” stuff, seriously scratch that stuff and literally nobody will want it except for the scrap.

But for stuff decades old and some damage is still okay. Obviously junk that’s messed up or the years and portraits aren’t visible sell for less, but collectors still like them for what they are. I’m better a Franklin half-dollar that’s a little fucked up, but I’m okay with it.

Basically yeah if you want the big bucks for Very Fine you gotta baby your coins. Or you can not worry too much and they’ll still go up in value just not as much. Just don’t literally throw them around, polish them or do any weird shit to them generally.

Your fiat currency will not disappear although it may lose 10% to 15% of its purchasing power over the next year or so and even that's doubtful. You have to understand that the Fed and the other central banks do not want their bullshit paper games to end. A hyperinflation ends the game and will likely discipline them with a specie-backed currency or barter which makes the governments very unhappy.

If the beginnings of a hyperinflation were to appear, the central banks have many levers that they can pull to end it. Whether they will or not is a legitimate question but let's assume they will. The actions the central banks take to arrest a hyperinflation will cause fiat currencies to appreciate in price quite a bit. It's likely in those scenarios that all assets: stocks, real estate, low quality bonds, commodities, and precious metals all go down in price. In that scenario, the best assets to have are cash and government guaranteed bonds.

The fed can't magically end a hyperinflationary spiral, are you retarded? They can only print money to benefit themselves and their cartel. That's it. They don't have magical controls except in the propaganda that controls people's minds, but hyperinflation is a more basic signal than anything the Fed chairs can conjure.\

Second, it will not end for them as easily as just being "disciplined" by specie-backed currency/barter. They deserve a much harsher, more cruel and unusual punishment

There is indeed one hyperinflationary scenario that the Fed and other major central banks cannot arrest and that is one where the world populace repudiates the currency. That is a highly unlikely scenario and I'm not going to enumerate all the things that make it highly unlikely.

You need look no further than the early 1980s and Paul Volcker to get an idea of the kinds of things a central bank can do to kill inflation. The first Volcker rate hikes put a stopper on inflation that was averaging close to double digits yearly and that caused a recession. Two years later, Volcker spiked rates again, knowing that doing so would spike unemployment, just to make sure that the inflation vampire was truly dead. Dual mandate of stable prices and maximum employment? Nope. When the Fed's game is at risk, the employed hoi polloi are thrown under the bus, run over, and then the bus is backed up to run over them again just to be sure.

Hyperinflation doesn't appear in just an instance. There is a very clear process and the warning signs are very clear, clear enough that even the idiots at the Fed recognize them. You can ditch all of your fiat if you want and there is, of course, a chance that you'll be 100% right and avoid losing any purchasing power.

However, if you're wrong and the central banks decide to put the system in "reverse" for a while, you'll be nursing paper losses until they put the system in "forward" again. During that time you've got paper losses, you'd better hope that you don't have big, unexpected expenses because it mean you'll have to sell your assets at a lower price to raise liquidity.

For those actually reading what I'm writing, I'm not saying you should have a lot of your net worth in cash unless you have a very low net worth. In the longer run, cash is a guaranteed loser. However, everybody should have some cash on hand to cover at least a few months' living expenses. If you're better off, you should have enough cash to cover one years' living expenses and a somewhat major emergency (medical problem, car failure, etc.)

stacklet looking to make a 1500$ CAD purchase, was thinking a 1kg silver bar and some coins. was also thinking about gold but I heard its not worth it to buy gold unless you can buy it by the OZcause its expensive to make into smaller increments or some shit. does this hold any truth? is it worth it to buy 10g/5g gold bars or should I stick to my fat boi silver bars. Ideally i would get a 10g gold bar and another 10oz silver bar. thoughts?

>The Fed won't just give up money printer.
That's my entire point. If there is a hyperinflation, the printer is essentially taken away. The Fed would print but no one would want the paper unless they just happened to run out of Charmin.

Indeed, the Fed and other CBs must have a populace that *wants* the paper money for them to play their money printing games. To do that, the paper money must have some semblance of credibility. As much as we savers hate the QE and other depreciative actions the CBs take, the world at large still desires the colored pieces of paper issued by the CBs.

Plain and simple: If I offered you $250/hour to do whatever you're skilled at, would you take the $250/hour or would you turn it down (assume that I will only pay in USD)? Multiply that by billions of people and you'll see why there is no hyperinflation. If the day should come that the above hypothetical scenario is rejected by a fairly large percentage of people (let's say 25%), then there is a serious problem and a policy mistake by the CBs could create a hyperinflation. But as I said earlier, there are many warning signs that even the CBs would recognize. Having 25% of the US population rejecting payment in USD would be a very obvious and jarring event. No matter how dovish the Fed or the president, none of them wants to preside over a hyperinflation.

There zero chance they're going to raise interest rates at this point.

from 1940-1990 Sweden was the wealthiest country on earth
in fact - no other country could even come close to our wealth
we had a population of 5-7 million and yet we had a large basket of world leading companies - Ericsson (which was basically Apple + Qualcomm back then), Volvo, SAAB, SFK, Securitas, H&M, IKEA, Skanska, Electrolux, etc.
back then Sweden was also a tax haven - we had the lowest tax rates on the planet

all this extravagant wealth lead to people voting for a massive welfare state so from 1940 to 1990 our tax burden went from 10% to 50%
many Swedes ended up paying more than 100% tax - yes the actually got tax bills that were higher than their income
meanwhile the average Swedish female worker took out 25 sick days per year - men took out 14 per year

this lead to currency speculators realising that Sweden was going down the shitter and that the Swedish currency was massively overvalued - which it was
so in the 1990's the Swedish Krona lost half of its value and was only 'saved' by the massive increase in interest rates and a roll-back of welfare programs

Dude, read up on what a "Debt Trap" is. The point is that once the hyperinflation warning signs are blinking, it's too late to do anything.

No, you're doing fine. $20,000 is maybe 18 months of living expensing if you live somewhere inexpensive and you've evidently got 60% of your net worth in assets that will hopefully protect you from inflation and give you a satisfactory return.

>>20737443
If your job is super stable, I guess $0 cash is doable? You really should start saving some cash, though. A mistake I made in the lead-up to the 2008 crash was that I did not distinguish between saving and investing. I had over 90% of my net worth in equities and even though I avoided all the housing bubble related shit stocks, 2008 was an all assets down scenario so I took a 30% drawdown. Highly unpleasant. My 10% cash was still a six figure quantity, though, but lesson learned. Unless you really know something, it's typically unwise to have close to 0% cash.

Debt traps can be exited by defaulting on debts and allowing creditors to take a loss. The entire point of QE is to save the stupid asses of stupid creditors. So, no. Hyperinflation is not baked into the cake when a society is highly indebted.

This post is depressing.
Socialism and government intervention is basically a religious cult. It's sad so many people are brainwashed and this information isn't widely distributed.
Free markets make everyone much richer and government destroys this and makes us all poor.
Also people don't understand the negative effect central banks have on our living standards.
