What the fuck? I thought you can't seize crypto in Ethereum network. What's going on?
How am I supposed to hold stablecoins without risk?

Stable coins ruin crypto. If faggots stopped tethering up then crypto would consistently gain in usd, eliminating much of the need for stable coins

USDT is a centralized company. Why is a it a surprise when they do centralized shit?

Euh bro its know for ages. They usually blacklist upon order from the authorities. Its just a matter of time before tether will sink. XHV IS COMING

yeah, can someone explain to a brainlet?
there shouldn't be a way to ban an address. is this only on certain coins (like tron or eos or some PoS shit)?
any miner should be able to verify a block from these addresses, right?

every token is a smart contract and the issuer can add a blacklist capability if they want

Okay, tether is scam. What is legit stablecoin with good trading volume today? USDC?

>> No.20624396

>>20624367
they blacklist too, every centralized stablecoin can blacklist.
The only option without blacklist is dai but it has its own problems with keeping the peg.
It should go down on monday

AMPL says hello

>> No.20624594

>>20624396
This, but at least USDC is actually audited and doesn't seem to do as much blacklisting, although they can and have.

DAI is the only decentralized stablecoin AFAIK, but seriously, what the fuck is up with its price? Right now it's pumped up to 1.03.

Gee golly I do wonder

I used to think like this. You should spend some time learning fx.
Unrelated but fx, check out 'Dirty float'

that's because of YFI farming, there's 110M dai in one pool

imagine holding fiat, or even worse, tether which is not even backed by real dollars

hold DAI if you want a stable coin. it's decentralized so shit like this can't happen. it's a bit less stable than the centralized coins but not too much of a problem

>>20623712
nah fuck that, stablecoins especially the decentralized ones are the best thing that happened to crypto, and will actually help us accelerate adoption. Tether is shit tho

they can censor as much as they want within their own erc20 contract. blockchain makes it impossible to censor the call of a smart contract method, but what this method does is up to the developer. people don't understand the absolute basics...

They blocked all my major addresses. Intersting is only the accounts with 1m+ are affected. My smaller ones are fine.

>> No.20624949

This was well known when they transfered over to Ethereum. Oh you thought that all ERC20 tokens have the exact same functionality? Well that's partially true, because they are not the only ERC20 token that can blacklist addresses, but that isn't part of the actual spec.

>> No.20624957

>>20624625
Will check it thanks
>>20624722
Checked and agreed that decentralized ones are very cool. I'm waiting to see a chainlinked oracle coin that can only be sold for a greater value than the previous transfer ie. a coin that can only appreciate

it’s not because of whales exiting or yfi farming per ae although yfi farming is influencing everything right now. I’d say it’s mostly down to the amount that is on compound (more than the circulating supply) the rules change on the rate at compound being voted on, and it has been running up against the debt ceiling. people are probably going to try/have been trying to squeeze people who are overleveraged on compound. Thats why if youre gonna use dai to farm comp you should supply 1.33333334 the amount you borrow, so you can never get liquidated. until they change the rate model you can never even lose money

USDC did this a few weeks ago. For any of you retards who thought that you could have adoption without adhering to authorities...why do you think the way you do and by that I mean stupidly. There is no way to have adoption and also have wild west silk road stuff.

This.

The contract completely controls the token.
They could even make it so it sends 0.01% monthly to the devs.
