You should do it while you are young for the tax benefits. Go for growth etfs, VOO, QQQ, VTI/VT BND etc. You will absolutely want a non ira account on top of that, this is your account to buy a house or pad your income with dividends.

Then depending on your income, traditional ira might be more tax advantaged. If you are a 30yo boomer than yes, that is still young enough to reap the roth advantages.

Depends on your tax bracket. If you're a poor and young fag, invest in a Roth IRA and pay the taxes now on your contributions because as the white tax base shrinks in this country, expect taxes to go up to compensate for paying out benefits to old people and more niggers/spics. Traditionals are good to lower your income for that year, and/or you expect your income to be low or non existent when you retire and start pulling from it.
