There's so much capital sitting on the sidelines right now because they fell for the "muh double top" and "L shaped recovery" meme. So many hedge funds losing clients right now because they didn't expect fed to commit to so much stimulus so fast (unlike 2008). I genuinely feel sorry for the people here who are "waiting for the next big dip". You had that chance 4 months ago. Even putting money in 1 month ago would have great returns. Until the fed starts talking about quantitative tightening and rate hikes, probably around late 2021 to 2022, no much is going to happen outside of the occasional 5-10% dips that give all the permabears a false vindication.

Doesn't do anything for me anymore. After the last girl I fucked I was even depressed for a day because I just realized how meaningless and empty that whole thing was.

I just don't care about women anymore and I think I lost the ability to fall in love. Women bore me to death, I can't stand their attitude or opinions and most have nothing to offer but sex. Which is very very boring without love. And I don't need validation aside from the Strong.com app showing me I got a new bench PR.

I'm naturally a person who is OK with being alone, maybe most guys are, but especially for me I could live alone in the wilderness for the rest of my life with no issues
but then this girl kind of came on to me saying how much she likes me, how she finds me attractive, etc.
it feels pretty good, no lie

women are kind of meh overall, it's true

but some times there will be a woman or two (or three) who will be friendly and soft and they smell good and they will make your life better and not worse ; that kind of thing.

TSLA, having more time of development and evolution, will squash NIO like the bug it is.
>They will copy it just like they do everything else and sell it for cheaper.
They will try and they may succeed; but if they do, it won't be for a long time. I.E. in the time it will take them to reverse engineer a TSLA car, TSLA will gain market share and advantage. Also, NIO/TSLA are LUXURY cars in China meaning price point isn't *as* big of a factor in purchase decision. AI/ Autonomous Driving & Features are bigger factors.

Highly applicable
If nothing else you should learn not to pay for active management and not to expect to outperform the market consistent year over year. Which I apply by ALWAYS having at least 10k in VTSAX.

Basically you can expect to know a sector or two and a company or two very well. That might not outperform every year, but if you’re always watching it you should know when to buy more, and have confidence in your decisions.

>Random Walk theory
It's inapplicable to retail investors and you can beat the market long term. I'm not a hedge or prop fund, I don't have to own hundreds of stocks that dilute my performance to down to what you would get from a index ETF. I can take on as much risk as I want on whatever stock I think will have high performance. I can instantly enter and exit my positions at the market price. I'm invisible to market makers, no one is trading against me personally, just retail traders as a whole. My decisions are my own and I can act on them, they don't have to be approved by a greater organization that is at least partly full of idiots driving down performance.

Proponents of Random Walk always have the same advice, you won't beat the market so you shouldn't try instead of accepting that a vast number of people will beat the market long term and you should see if you have the ability to do it. Anyone can overweight their portfolio high performance stocks in the T. FAGMAN and beat the market. Of course Random Walk would discount it because they think there is more risk, but risk will always be subjective. I would rather own few solid tech companies than a whole index that that has much more exposure to greater market events. When the Nikkei crashed, I'm sure the people who made out the best and retained most of their money were people with a few solid companies. If you had the index, you would have been so fucked, plus you wouldn't have sold because "timing the market is impossible".

Unironically, I agree with the "Stonks only go up" book to a degree.

There's no reason to sell at a loss unless theres a bankruptcy, which even then Hertz proved wrong. It will eventually all go up given enough time.

However, there's definitely money to be made day trading. You just have to be autistic and keep track of numbers non stop.

I think I've made 40% gains on same day trips/less than a week hold and 60% longer holds.

I wrote a long post but I accidentally deleted it. In summary, I don't think it's that useful to only consider risk, total risk reward is more appropriate. Holding a broad index gives you more exposure to market events but each event will be less damaging. Holding a few great companies will have lower exposure to greater market events but each event that does affect it will be more damaging. The risk reward ratio, if we could easily calculate it and we can't, for these two positions would be similar, if not better for the tech option.

We also want to consider that low performance in the equity market increases the time you are exposed to it and that comes at a higher risk. I've taken on more risk to 10x my account than someone holding index ETFs but once I reach enough money, I'm going to be much more diversified than them because I can focus on just retaining it.

I use and recommend Questrade. If you're only trading Canadian stocks, Wealth Simple Trade would be better since they don't have any commissions, but you also can't hold USD so you're going to be paying them a exchange rate fee each time you buy anything US listed. Interactive Brokers is the better option for option trading as their options commissions are lower than Questrade. Those are the big three, most of the bank brokers aren't very good.
