Honestly the smarter play would probably be to buy AAL on the cheap than sell covered calls at mid 20s when the stock rises significantly on any sort of catalyst for a month out. You basically "lock in" 2x gains memes in the worst case but collect premium to reduce your cost basis over and over again.
By the way, this is also why buying less than 100 shares of anything is rather pointless. If you can't commit that much capital to your thesis than it isn't a strong thesis.
