Is it better to have a safe and comfortable life through wageslaving etc? Or is it better just to take a risk to be really rich even if you lose your savings?

you're asking biz what kind of answer do you think you're going to get?

Depends if you have kids

Thing is, if you're wageslaving you're neither safe nor comfortable. Unless you've brainwashed yourself to be a Spongebob-style drone for your company, you will never be happy with the insecurity that you could one day be replaced by someone willing to work for less than you (or, god help you, a robot). You have to pretend you are totally okay working on Christmas while your family has to alter their plans for you because hey, it's just a stupid holiday, right?

The only real risk is not taking any risk.

I'm attempting the middle ground, a moderate amount of risk with decently wealthy expected returns. If I have a lot to pass on to my kids then they have a chance at the yacht club given they're diligent.
