Naked silver shorts are people who own short positions in paper silver but have no physical metal to back up what they would otherwise own. The problem is, paper to physical is 172:1 right now. Silver is very volatile, even more so during what is fast becoming a currency crisis. What we have is a lot of things working at once: huge demand, driven both by stackers and industries starting back up, fucked up supply because rona, all the various fiats are in the beginning of a death spiral, so there are large spreads in how much PM's move in each currency. IE gold lost 14 USD today, but lost 7 CAD. normalized in the same currency, to buy an oz of gold in the us cost 19$ less CAD vs 7 CAD in canada. IE Yanks lost more buying power, which is why last week I was saying you have a built in "dip" to grab more PM's dollar for dollar due to strong USD.

All the fiats are going down, the movement is erratic, uneven between all of them as well.

This death spiral combined with demand, rona, civil unrest sparking massive speculation, helicopter money, I would expect large and sharp fluctuations in PM's to be the norm for some time.

Sterling silver purchasing is only good for pennies on the dollar to smelt down for your own use or sending out to a forge. I know local people who do that & make small profit. I've never seen any cheap silver jewelry either. It will not be useful in post-colapse. So on terms of stacking practicality, I’m not sure old coins are really that good a deal in terms of cold metal for cash. Especially when a lot of the old coins were lighter than their modern counterparts. e.g. a Kennedy half dollar has only 0.36oz of silver, so really you need three of them to get an ounce of silver and three of them are definitely more expensive than a new 1oz coin.
