Surely, regardless of the psychological complexity of the stock market, actual value is not too complexily measured -- its profits/free cash flow/ etc. As such, shouldn't valuations provide you with a stronger indicator than intuition of whether expectations of stocks are overvalued.

I acknowledge that the secondary stock market is of different "spirit" than the private equity. But still, the only thing that matters is the value that is created (and not the ponzi scheme-like attitudes motivating bubbles).
