Yes. Not only will every person have access to the global super computer at the palm of their hand and accessible by a single gasless transaction, but government wants a piece. WORLD government, to keep tabs on all data flowing throughout the global cloud.

Think about it anon, both IBM (NSA), Intel (Mossad) and now Google (NSA) are on it.
THEN you have chinese involved through TFcloud and the Tsinghua University (MIT equivalent in China so = MSS).
Of course there are french in the middle with BPIfrance (the financial investment arm of the french gov) and the Inria is training DGSE agents.

Processing power is the firepower of the future.

If you dig a bit there is an endless trail of companies and institutions getting involved, it blows my mind how many people sleep on this.
/biz/ is the only place where people are actually a bit aware, reddit is oblivious and I'm not even talking about twitter.

Find me a single crypto project invited by both IBM, Google, Alibaba and Intel to talk about Trusted Execution Environment? You won't.
Now take a look at who is developing the Trusted Compute Framework in hyperledger (which is what interests tech giant the most):

There are only 2 cryptos projects there:
1) Chainlink
2) iExec

Now what is Avalon, let's see
>https://www.hyperledger.org/use/avalon
>Hyperledger Avalon is a ledger independent implementation of the Trusted Compute Specifications published by the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. It aims to enable the secure movement of blockchain processing off the main chain to dedicated computing resources. Avalon is designed to help developers gain the benefits of computational trust and mitigate its drawbacks.

What does Iexec do:
>iExec: 4 contributors will develop Ethereum smart contracts, integrate TEE options that support most of the the mainstream programming languages and native applications, and improve Avalon easy-of-use for developers

Translation: iexec controls the gateway of offchain computing that will scale smart-contracts (Ethereum or not) to business use

Fedak is a world expert on distributed computing, he developed with Lodginsky (another iexec team member) the XtremWeb-HEP for the CERN which was used to process the first results of the Large Hadron Collider back in the 00s.

At that time bear in mind there was nothing like big cloud providers with gigantic server farms and dedicated software to parallelize data processing so they had to develop solutions themselves, you can read about it here:

Fedak worked on the initial release in 2000, see at the bottom here
>https://dblp.org/pers/f/Fedak:Gilles.html

Later he became researcher at the Inria which is more or less the french research agency on computer science.

Haiwu He is well connected in chinese academia, he studied in France where he met Fedak and published a lot too.
Right now he has a chair at China Computer Federation
He was even interviewed on the CCTV kek, not even memeing

They recruited a young guy called Cabelguen (the Chad guy) which seems pretty fucking sharp in terms of business development.
All in all they had a pretty great network to leverage since the beginning, Golem and co never stood a chance really.

The first post I made was for shit and giggles but if you ask me: there are global marketplaces and infrastructures to trade commodities like energy, food/livestock and metals.
There are no marketplaces to trade computing power or datas as of today despite the demand exploding.

Besides on the contrary to currencies like Bitcoin trying to undercut banks and national currencies, iExec is merely trying to create a hub where all participants can meet and trade processing power and datas, they don't compete with them.

Yes their CMs are shitters, their original CM was a big retard called Julien who was only hired because Fedak met him at an Ethereum conference.
Now they hired this guy called Blair but he is low energy and not worthy of whatever salary they pay him. There is no effort to cultivate a community and so it remains dry.

I would say they have the flaws of their strengths: they are boomers with greybeard-tier knowledge of distributed systems and a top tier network but at the same time they do not understand how the cryptosphere works when it comes to correctly market and hype it to the crowd.
Only autists like here put the effort, the rest of the market is very dumb and follows noise.

That's why the project struggles to get a word out there, in bonus the branding isn't that great either, it wasn't made by a professional (actually it was made by Fedak's daughter kek) and it shows.

Despite that they attend a lot of Ethereum conferences so the developer crowd must at least know a bit about them, businesses do already and they have a big treasury (developing doesn't cost them much).

>>20381142
It's not hidden, you can find most of the infos on their medium and by googling efficiently.
I dig every project I invest in, I'm from Luxembourg though so I benefit from speaking french and german, it's easier for me to find some informations but if you only speak english you will stumble on the most important. Speaking french is useful for the anecdotes.

This is the 1 reason I sold my stack after black thursday, after not touching even 1 RLC since 2017.

The bigger piece of the pie IS the branding & community element. Without this, and without a continual stream of integrations it isn't good enough. In this market it's reliant on this completely. Otherwise it just sinks back into obscurity on repeat.

Still keeping an eye on it from time to time to see if it picks up.

It isn't, a good community attracts builders and eyes, both generate values.
They made a Dapp challenge back in 2018 and launched a Dapp Store

It was a good idea but instead of doubling down on it with permanent incentive structure they let it fall in the background.
