There is reason to believe there won't be a selloff because early investors who received a significant number of tokens didn't sell at the beginning on July. Probably info on the inside that isn't being shared. We know we're due for mainnet 2.0, which will cause a bump in price if it is successfully launched, but the skill of the engineers is, well, questionable.

Mainnet 2.0 is unlikely to be launching soon. The update Patricio gave to ftp said that they were still doing theoretical research and were considering changing consensus algorithms. This was early July.
