So with banks reporting earnings this week, ironically enough the weakest banks are the best positions to make calls print.

If that sounds counter-intuitive, let me explain. Tomorrow morning the weakest bank ($WFC) and the strongest bank ($JPM) will both report. This will serve as a valid preview for all the banks in between expected to report earnings this week.

But expectations for Wells are already so low, the consensus estimate is already in loss per share. Unless they are just teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, they have a good chance to beat expectations. J.P. Morgan on the other hand, is expected to bring in a somewhat subdued profit of 1.11 per share. Anything less will be a miss.

So the irony will not be lost on /smg/. WFC is the best position tomorrow to make your calls print out of the gate. Likewise, JPM may be the best tool for making your puts bring home the tendies.
